Mesonak Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Their prices are obviously different to the RRP. Not surprised though as a lot of websites do the same. You can tell they aren't official as the prices from the DC collection that we've had for a while now are completely blown out the window compared to these. I mean not only are the names stupid, but I don't think any American would pay $99.99 for the Two Face set. Although, anyone in the US can easily correct me Yeah, you're correct. The prices for a lot of previously announced sets (Ninjago, Friends, Hero Factory, even the Ultrabuild sub-series) don't match up with what we've heard previously. They're all overly inflated on that site. The Marvel sets are no exception. Quote
Oky Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Interesting set names. The set with Cap will probably be him on his motorcycle. Not sure what the Wolverine set could be about. "Chopper" could either refer to Wolverine's motorcycle or to helicopter. If it's really $50, maybe it's Wolverine in the Blackbird versus Magneto and Deadpool in a helicopter? I don't know. Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape could be anything. I agree that B/out probably means bust- or breakout. It's strange though that the helicarrier set is smaller than the Quinjet. Note there will be two Lego TV Shows: Green Lantern and Young Justice in July No, those are regular non-Lego shows. Young Justice is already halfway through its first season, and GL:TAS will start in spring. It's very pleasing to hear that a Lego Superheroes game is in the works though! Especially if it really does combine Marvel and DC! Quote
LandShark Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I'm betting b/out means breakout--Hulk busting out of the Helicarrier. Yes please! I agree that B/out probably means bust- or breakout. Of course! What was I thinking, 'Blackout'? And wait a moment, do I see '66-esque Bat-labels in the cave? I think I do! I saw them, but I've been watching the 60's show so much recently, that it just seemed natural to have that. Very nice touch by Lego, my opinion of that set has now gone up. Quote

Not as expensive as I first thought, though. Also, I don't think it's been mentioned before, but the site also lists a Captain America figure, along with the four we've seen already and the Joker. tj19941994 Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Pfft. You Americans and you ridiculously cheap prices. I am sure these are just the Aussie prices, and that yours will be half of ours. As far as Aussie prices go these sound pretty good! Quote

But do please correct me if im wrong as i do not understand how different your currency is to everywhere else Oh and we have already seen the Ultrabuild Captain America a few pages back Oh and a good way to compare what the prices will be like in the US etc, just look at the DC prices that we found out earlier Edited October 11, 2011 by Housey98 Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 As far as Aussie prices go these sound pretty good! I say your right 'tj19941994', 59 bucks to get the Joker.....alone he can fetch 80 bucks retail in Oz....score ! Quote
djmangunz Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 (edited) Here I am going to take a few sentences to speculate( read; guess) what some of them might include. 6865 Captain America, depending on if they base this set off the movie vs. the comics it could include the original Quin jet or the Captain's motorcycle. 6866 X-Men: I would say the Blackbird is a good bet here. 6867 Iron Man: This one I don't have a clue since Iron Man doesn't tool around in many cool vehicles besides his suit. Perhaps they will include an unknown baddie with an iconic vehicle to go along with it. The Avengers mansion seems too pedestrian for a set here. 6868 Hulk and Thor: I really think that this will be from the upcoming Avengers movie and it will include the updated Quin jet. Why another Quin jet you scream? Well, besides the fact that it would be completely different version than the one used by the Cap. in WW II, it is one of the few well known vehicles in the Avengers saga. 6869 Avengers: This one has to be the Helicarrier. If it's not then, well I will might cry like a small girl. So there you have it, my uneducated guesses at what the future Marvel sets might include. Feel free to clap me on the back for being a genius or call me a flippin idiot. If I can be so arrogant as to pat myself on the back for getting exactly three sets (somewhat) correct with Cap's bike, the QuinJet and the Helicarrier. But Loki's cosmic cube? Even I'm not good enough to predict that one. Kinda dissapointed that the Helicarrier is only $100. I was hoping that it would be comparable in size to the Republic Frigate. My guess is that the reason for the QuinJet $130 price tag is the fact that it will have a Kree or Skull ship to face off against based on the rumors flying around about the movie. And please, please don't let the Helicarrier be a modular set like Home One. Making such an epic ship into a room or two would be a massive fail. Edited October 12, 2011 by djmangunz Quote

Marvel minifigs without sets: Spider-man Doctor Octopus Having 5 minifigs without places in the currently revealed sets could mean that there will be another wave of sets coming out in the second half of 2012 or it could also mean that there will be several exclusive sets (they don't show up in the retailer catalogs). I could imagine three exclusives (TRU, Walmart, Target here in the US): one for Green Lantern, one for Riddler and Harley Quinn, and another for Spider-man and Doctor Octopus. Quote
Dharkan Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Guys I have a question, is there any news about Iron Man's helmet whether if its going to be printed headpiece or helmet? Quote
The Real Indiana Jones Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 (edited) Guys I have a question, is there any news about Iron Man's helmet whether if its going to be printed headpiece or helmet? Since Batman and Catwoman both have removable hoods, I would guess that Iron man will have a removable helmet, similar to the new style Boba Fett helmet. That would also match with the way they mocked it up in the prelim figs on display. It may look a bit oversized at first, but it is the same as Batman and Boba. djmangunz Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 That's some good detective work The Brick Rat. Looks like my dream of having the Helicarrier in its full Lego glory has been shot to crap. Fifty bucks is only going to give us a room or two. Quote

Peanuts Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Are those prices confirmed? It's just, they look very fair to me, but honestly, I was expecting TLG to charge a bit more than $30 for the Batwing Set. If that's the price and it gets converted halfway reasonable in Euro I'm seriously thinking about buying the whole Batman wave. Quote

Like said earlier in this forum, TLC are probably cutting down on prices because of there recent lack of money from licensed themes such as Prince of Persia and Pirates of the Caribbean. Mr. Elijah Timms Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Guys I have a question, is there any news about Iron Man's helmet whether if its going to be printed headpiece or helmet? I thought we had confirmation sometime around the initial reveal that Iron Man's mask would consist of a hinged faceplate on a typical red helmet, allowing us to flip it up to see Stark's face inside like a Kingdoms knight. Can anyone else confirm or deny this? Quote
Oky Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Well, sort of. Cygnet posted this pic way back in this thread: It's possible that it wont be able to flip up in the final version, but for now it looks like it will. Quote

Cygnet posted this pic way back in this thread: It's possible that it wont be able to flip up in the final version, but for now it looks like it will. Grrrr, can't believe I missed that pic. The face is incredible, it's SO Tony Stark. And let's hope that the figure out a way to keep the flipping feature while shrinking the helmet. Quote
Oky Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Grrrr, can't believe I missed that pic. The face is incredible, it's SO Tony Stark. It's just Jack Sparrow's head. But yes, it does work quite well for Tony, so I don't think I would mind if they just stick with it in the final version. Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 (edited) Amen! In my eyes they're making the same mistake they did last time: vehicle vs vehicle concept. No scenery, no storylines, just pure action. This topic may run for several years but not londer. The steam is already going out of it. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Well, actually, I would consider the stop light and newspapers in the Catwoman set and the Bank in the Two-Face set scenery. Oh, a I would also like to ask you what your classic comic book depiction was like. I mean, if LEGO were to go with your classic depiction (much like Luthor) we could get you somewhere other than behind a desk, if the classic depiction is any different. Well, we already know TLG plans to go beyond just 2012 with the theme, and I'd bet they do have building-based set ideas kicking around. That this first wave will largely amount to remakes of previous Batman sets doesn't necessarily mean that's what they intend to do for the overall theme, and I do think there's something to be said for tj19941994's idea about TLG possibly doing these sets in response to the feverish demand for those earlier Batman sets. I'm confident they'll do plenty of sets beyond simple vehicular chases and battles between good and bad guys. Agreed Well, at least batcave isn't an impulse set that only worth 20$ or so in our first thought about the second prize. Cheers for that . I actually wouldn't of minded a $20 Batcave, I mean it could of been somthing like this, a batcomputer, tools, changing machine, small vehicle, and five minifigures. Having 5 minifigs without places in the currently revealed sets could mean that there will be another wave of sets coming out in the second half of 2012 or it could also mean that there will be several exclusive sets (they don't show up in the retailer catalogs). I could imagine three exclusives (TRU, Walmart, Target here in the US): one for Green Lantern, one for Riddler and Harley Quinn, and another for Spider-man and Doctor Octopus. One of the press releases said that there would be a wave based on The Dark Knight Rises in the summer, so chances are there won't be any Marvel sets released at that time. And considering that LEGO never said anything about Green Lantern being released (not that I would count him out), that would mean that there are two minifigures from each subtheme missing from the promised list. So, I conclude that there will be one store exclusive for each subtheme, a Batman (and maybe Green Lantern team-up) to get The Riddler and Harley Quinn (Arkham Asylum?), and a Spiderman set for Spiderman and Ock. It's just Jack Sparrow's head. But yes, it does work quite well for Tony, so I don't think I would mind if they just stick with it in the final version. Except this is on the other side : Credit to Huw at Brickset.com for this photo Having finally seen the new pictures, I have to say that I like, even if they do bear an eerie similarity to the sets of old. But you know what, I don't care a jot! The minifig updates are gorgeous, we get a set with Supes, WW and Luthor (!) and we get more Bat-vehicles. And as any Bat-fan knows, there are never enough Bat-vehicles. And wait a moment, do I see '66-esque Bat-labels in the cave? I think I do! The possible Marvel set names sound interesting too. I'm particularly interested in seeing that separates an Avenging Cycle from an ordinary motorbike. From what I can tell, it's the same piece from here: I believe that this is the '89 Burton logo, but I would love to be wrong though as that would be great. They are fairly similar in design though. And about the Avenging Cycle, probably a sticker and blue paint job Edit: Just found this, Superman's double face, much nicer than the front IMO: And the NYCCC Superman Giveaway: I would like to point out that it also says Preview Edition! Oky Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 A skeleton Tony Stark? Well, obviously they shouldn't use the exact same head, but make a version of it without the skeleton face on the other side, perhaps with the normal smirking Jack Sparrow face instead. From what I can tell, it's the same piece from here: SNIP I believe that this is the '89 Burton logo, but I would love to be wrong though as that would be great. SoupOrFishOil Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 He's talking about the signs above the prison cell and the weapons rack. I don't see it Unless that's it on the black/yellow picture of Batman (which I don't think so)? Quote
sok117 Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 New York Comic-con is starting tomorrow and goes till the 16th, that means we'll be seeing the finalized bat cave soon! Hopfully FBTB or a memebr of a lego forum will snap some great pictures! I think the little table above the entrance way to the batcave has the red emergency phone As for the missing characters, I think Harley will be released in the joker set to replace the helicopter pilot, and Riddler will replace one of Two-Faces goons, just like in the old movies. But then again, another set is entirley possible to, and I'm not gonna say no to it I'm so excited!!! Quote
