SoupOrFishOil Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 I was just about to build a small Batboat to go with my Batcave, but now I guess I don't need to design one. I probably couldn't get a hold of this. The Batmobile is nice too, and something to put in the Trophy Room I built, but I probably couldn't get a hold of it either and probably wouldn't take the time and parts to try and replicate it. Blondie-Wan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 This is interesting: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/12/29/amazing-spiderman-building-blocks-confirm-spoiler-rumour/ (caution, spoilers) Mega Bloks has sets for the upcoming Spider-Man movie. I guess they still have movie rights through Sony while Lego has rights based on the comics through Marvel, maybe? It'll be weird to see two kinds of Building Block Spidey on the shelves at, presumably, nearly the same time. Well... only about as weird as it was the first time around, about six or seven years ago. The only thing was that the licenses were reversed - LEGO was doing sets specifically based on the movies (the first two, to be specific), while Mega Bloks did ones based on the classic comic-book Spider-Man, and/or the Spidey mythos in general. TLG's Spider-Man movie license ended after Spider-Man 2, and Mega Bloks picked up the rights and did sets for Spider-Man 3. Perhaps their forthcoming sets from the reboot are based on a simple continuation of their movie license from that, while their comics license expired a while ago (they began doing comic Spidey sets a few years earlier, at the same time TLG was doing movie sets, remember), thus freeing it for TLG. LEGO and Mega Bloks have had lots of licenses that have gone from one to the other, actually: - Marvel Comics (used in the broadest sense of both the original comics and Marvel's own productions based in them, as well as various other studios' adaptations such as Sony's Spider-Man movies; since these licenses are handled separately, there have been multiple times when both companies are doing sets based upon different incarnations of the same characters, as happened then and now - I can still see Mega Bloks sets based on Iron Man and Captain America at my local TRU right now, for example) - Pirates of the Caribbean - Cars - Dora the Explorer ... and perhaps a few I'm forgetting. God Iron Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Unfortunately I doubt TLG will get the Power Rangers or Kamen Rider licenses, now there's some cool Super Hero Sets they could make. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 That guy on YouTube who was uploading those 2012 pictures is at it again and just uploaded some Ninjago booster packs. Fingers crossed he has Marvel now... Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 You're right, it just looks so good. I couldn't find instructions on LEGO.com! For the Batmobile poly bag instructions. For the Bat Jetski poly bag instructions. Quote

ScaryScarecrow Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 I kinda wish I lived in the UK now because I doubt these will ever come to the USA. I like the Batminimobile and the Batboat. Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Those poly bag sets look fantastic! If only I could get my hands on those two... Quote
dverburg Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Just opened the Batcave I got several days ago. Opened the first bag to start building... the cape for Batman is the black cape, which is supposed to be in the set for Robin. So I opened the bag with Robin in it, which has absolutely no cape. The first time I've had a missing piece from any LEGO set! I'm trying to navigate the "missing piece" thing in LEGO's website, but it's not great. The element isn't pictured in the set inventory on the site, so I typed it in but can't find a way to click confirm. Hopefully I can call them tomorrow. I don't really know how this works and am super bummed out about the site and just the missing piece. Kind of kills my enthusiasm to build it. Quote

jacob_uno Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 My friend just talked to the employees in the LEGO store Copenhagen. They said that Superheroes won't be available in Denmark until May. Is that the case all other places than in the US? Quote

But I hope for you, that you can. I think there's a difference between ordering one and one not being included (when it's supposed to be), mostly because the ladder is about quality. I was able to order a whole bag of parts from a licensed set when it was missing, not that customer service was very polite about it Quote

TheLegoDr Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 So far, every set with capes has had all the capes together in the little white box/packet thing. I've never had issues with missing a cape, but there is a first for everything. They have forgotten other pieces before. I have never called customer service, but I have emailed them and they sent out some missing pieces to me right away with free shipping, no questions asked. And it was in a POTC set, so that was licensed. But something as big as a cape, I don't know. Good luck! As far as the polybag sets... umm, I want! That'd be a great cheap set to get a black Batman! That's the only reason I want one of those other sets with black Bats. I may just buy a black Batman and call it good. Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 (edited) The ladder? There's no ladder in any of the sets! Well, those railings in the funhouse kind of look like ladders... But I was in a rush. I know the difference between ladders and latter I've never had any trouble calling about missing pieces. It's only happened to me three times in the past two years, but each time, the customer service person was very friendly and apologetic that the pieces were missing. Then they were shipped to me for free. I did try the website once, but also had challenges using it. So I stick to calling. Yeah, I used the website, but they sent a generalized e-mail about how they weigh their boxes and that there was no possibility that a whole bag was missing. And then a few days later I was contacted by an actual person who was more polite and I was able to get the pieces for free. You're right though I'll call next time, it should save trouble. ETAV8R Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Just picked up 6858 Catwoman Catcycle at Target. Great first Batman set and for $12US not bad. The Catwoman fig is awesome. They had several of the large figures and Catwoman sets plus two of the Batcaves. They also had some of the new forest police and fire sets. Good to see that TRU doesn't have complete dominance for the superhero sets for as long as they usually do. Quote

I went to Wal Mart and Toys R Us too, and the only Super Heroes set I saw was a single Ultrabuild Joker with 33% markup at Toys R Us. Too late for me though, I already ordered the Batcave yesterday because of the failure of my trip and now have to wait four weeks for Shop@Home to ship it. I guess it's all in the timing Quote
Zergos Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I went to my Toys R US today and they only had Superman, Two Face, and The Joker batwing thing for sets unfortunatly. I picked up the superman set and I love the features on it and excellent minifigures :) Quote
