prateek Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well, I think the right arm is longer because of the gun. If they had made it the same length as the left, it would have hit the other joint. And they only reason I can think of for them not to be symmetrical is because LEGO want to use a few parts as possible. The piece count would have to increase by 3 pieces. And very inexpensive pieces at that... Quote
deskp Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Anyone else agree that the superheroes theme has been a little unexciting so far? Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Anyone else agree that the superheroes theme has been a little unexciting so far? In what way? It'd be easier to decide whether I agree with you if you elaborated. The only disappointment for me so far is that Green Lantern never turned up in a regular set. I'm still sorta hoping he'll defy all odds and appear out of nowhere. And maybe bring his buddy, Aquaman... Quote
Oky Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I wouldn't call it unexciting. Sure, the Batman sets are mostly just inferior rehashes, but some of the minifigs have greatly been improved upon, and it's just nice to have Bats back! And I'm still very, very, very excited about the Marvel sets! Bring on the pics already!! Boyo did I choose the right time to come back here, I'm gonna have to hold off posting my Lego Batcave until I get these new additions to intriduce. Yay! Batbrick Returns! Great timing indeed! I was hoping this theme would drive you out of hiding! Quote
Hobbestimus Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 And I'm still very, very, very excited about the Marvel sets! Bring on the pics already!! Indeed. I can't wait to see these. Quote
Brickmamba Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Anyone else agree that the superheroes theme has been a little unexciting so far? well with all the discussion and preliminary pics throughout last year knowing what is on its way could take the excitement away when the sets are officially released sets like the funhouse and power armor lex are excellent and far exceed my expectations and we have yet to see hulk, thor and co. Quote
deskp Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I'm just not very into the vehicle sets, and the non vehicle sets so far have been a little boring in my opinion. feels like theres no "flagship" of this wave. I must say I'm impressed with the Lex Luthor set! Im really excited for the avengers sets espeacialy the minifigures! Even though that will be moer vehicle sets. Quote
Dadster Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Just saw all the Superheroes (Batman + Friends...) at a local Target yesterday. Haven't seen any at Wal-Marts though... And TRU's are hit or miss - some have them some don't. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I don't find the vehicle sets to be very exciting, but the Funhouse and the Batcave both look great to me. I never got the last Batcave, but honestly this one looks a bit more cohesive and better designed. The last one just seemed overly tall with all of the BURPs, and the jail was just huge! I also like the color scheme of the new one better. Quote
Masked Builder Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 The piece count would have to increase by 3 pieces. And very inexpensive pieces at that... This is LEGO we're talking about here. GuntherThePenguin Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Target had all the Batman sets, (not Superman), when I checked yesterday. I also picked up the Batcave! I am very excited to put it all together. When I checked TRU last week, they only had Two-Face Chase and the Catwoman set. Hope I helped someone! Quote
Rhapsodyred99 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) Am I the only one who would prefer a top piece like on the dark maul for Batman, Ironman etc, with the masks or helm printed on the head? The idea of removable masks with the flesh face underneath is nice and all, but the thick plastic makes them soo big. I mean poor catwoman looks like a pencil eraser and batmans eyeholes are on his forehead! Ironman looks like one of those Super deformed guys or head wobbler things. I know theese are legos and not mini mates or other "adult collector toys", but it seems to me having a top peice like darthmaul with a printed head would solve the huge head syndrome. Just my 2 cents Edited January 4, 2012 by Rhapsodyred99 Quote
Nebsirob Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I don't find the vehicle sets to be very exciting... The vehicle-themed sets are okay (in my opinion), but I don't like the "extra"-vehicles, which seemed to be made of random parts just to reach a certain number of pieces in a set. A good example in the current Super Heroes sets are (again in my opinion) the Bat-Cycles. Today I recieved my very first order from Lego.de : The Superman-set, and the Funhouse. During my build of the funhouse, I just skipped the Bat-Cicle pages. As for Luthor's battle-armor/mech-thingy: I was shocked, how this thing pales, when I put it next to Dr. Insano's Inferno's robot. Rhapsodyred99 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I'm going on the belief that it is a LEGO exclusive - online and stores only. I've been wrong before though . . . I found the fun house at my local Kmart. The other one did not have it though. Target does not even have a spot for it, but they had the rest (just got the bat cave! Yeah!. No local walmarts or Toys r us have any super hero sets yet. YMMV Quote

YMMV That's really weird if Kmart got the exclusive. Anyone know of such a thing happening in recent history? Heck, they can't even get a Martha Stewart exclusive anymore. If this holds true, I'll probably have to get the Funhouse from S@H like I originally planned anyway. The nearest Kmart we had went under when Walmart moved in. Next one's too far away to be worth it. Quote
jacob_uno Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Give me a shout when you're going! :) I bought the Catwoman, Batwing, Fun House and Superman set all in one go the other day - thanks to the VIP programme I saved 30%! Still Batmobile and Batcave to go, fortunately my birthday is coming up soon! Woop! Dp you know any German webshops who has it? Quote
Miss Kyle Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Dp you know any German webshops who has it? Nothing apart from the German S@H. Sorry for not being very helpful :( Quote
Cobb Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Some dutch shops have prices, but they are very high. The funhouse is 100 Euro instead of 45 dollars. Anyone know if these are the official European prices? ANd are they going to be widely available. The last Batman sets were always hard to get even when they were on the market. Quote

Cobb Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I feel we are really going to get ripped of. I really hope I can get all the sets through the normal channels and hope they are not getting hauled by resellers. Quote

CM4Sci Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Why would you quote the huge images as well? What's so wrong with that? I also spotted the Funhouse at my Target today for $34.99. I already got it for Christmas, but decided to buy it for a few pieces and figures. -Sci Quote
