deskp Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) Have you guys seen this? http://smashing-bricks.com/2012/01/13/lego-super-heroes-marvel-minifigures-sneak-peak/ Shows Wolverine, Hulk, Captain A, Iron Man etc. Omg thanks, looks nice, good seeing correctly colored iron man chin and proper torso print. Also non-purple HULK pants. Captain america's shield looks too large. Edited January 12, 2012 by deskp Quote
surrideo Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Whilst aware it is a render, the Hulk doesnt look as bad as I thought it was going to. In fact I can see both sides of the comic universe costing me a lot of money. Looking forward to April........... Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) Hmmmm, that CA looks quite good. Might get multiples for the torso and head. Iron Man doesn't quite look as good as I would like, but still a nice minifig. Hulk looks better than I expected, although I seriously doubt he will have a regular minifig head in real plastic. Wolverine looks fine, maybe a tad better than I expected, but nothing really special to me. Now, I want to see the villains before I make any purchase decisions. If there are Nazi Soldiers in the CA Avenging Cycle, that will equal multiple buy for me. If not......not. If Loki looks good, then I might get the Cosmic Cube Escape. If not, the purchase becomes significantly less likely. So, I reserve judgement. Edited January 12, 2012 by Darth Nihilus Quote

Oky Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Thanks, but this is more disappointing than exciting for me. They fixed Shellhead's chin, but that doesn't save him from looking ridiculous. And the Hulk is only half as awesome without his purple pants. Also, still no mask for Wolverine... Oh well, I'm still really looking forward to these sets! Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 All in all I'd say these look pretty good! I guess I can live with the oversized Iron Man head as long as the detailing is accurate. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Personally, I think Iron Man does look better, but I still would of liked some Hockey Armor. But they did fix the chin and eyes, so I was right in thinking that if they did that I would like it better. Hulk looks good, except for his pants I hope that's just a mistake. If they didn't want to do purple they could of at least made them blue. Captain America isn't bad, I don't have too much to say. Wolverine is the same as CA for me. I'm not really looking forward to Marvel as of now, just because I don't feel the draw to their characters as I really only like Batman, but I want Loki and Thor just because I like mythology (well, I'm not a big fan of Norse mythology, but they'll do ). I could still skip them if they don't come in cheap sets though. Quote

BigHobbit Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 My birthday is April 19th--I keep looking at that "Available April" on the image and wondering what are the odds these will actually be out by my birthday (especially since some of the sets probably have spoilers for the May 4th movie). Hulk's pants color may be explained by what he's wearing when on the Helicarrier, since the set he comes with is the Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout. I like the look of Cap and Hulk the most, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what the Thor and Hawkeye minifigs will look like. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 No nazis, the sets are based on The avengers movie, not "captain america: the first avenger" Damn it! I wanted LEGO Nazis! Quote
surrideo Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Damn it! I wanted LEGO Nazis! But would it have got as much uproar as the Friends theme launch got....? As for the hulk trousers issue, Im guessing Dr Banner was wearing Chinos to work that day.... Glad its a "maskless" Wolverine, having one would have made it truer to the comic universe, but I think it would have ended up looking a little bit like Catwoman mask and too clumsy. Raises the issue again with the licence basis, as to my mind and most others, this looks like Hugh Jackman Wolverine ableit with yellow costume. A little off topic, like the funhouse that came from "nowhere" what chance a Ghost Rider set being the TRU exclusive set for April?....I can dream Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 They kept that horrible Iron Man helmet. :/ Remember a minfig head must fit under it and if memory serves me correct from those ComicCon images....the face mask hinges upward. Plus those images are cartoon-like, not photographed minifigs....but I would say it would still make an AWESOME poster. Quote

surrideo Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 The equivlient to the Funhouse seems to be the Spider-man/Doc Ock one. I randomly found my spiderman set from the last time Lego made them the other day. Damn I forgot about that set! Ah well Ghost Rider for whatever wave in the future then..... Quote
Oky Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 The Super Heroes website has finally been updated. There's not much new aside from some character bios and the comic builder though. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) The Super Heroes website has finally been updated. There's not much new aside from some character bios and the comic builder though. I saw the character bios when it was updated days ago. The comic builder wasn't up then though, so I think I'll take a look at that... Edit: Anybody know what the codes do, mine from the Two-Face set won't work Edited January 12, 2012 by Superficial Username Quote
Oky Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 No idea. I entered mine from the Batcave both in the comic builder and on LegoClub.com, but it didn't work either. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 But would it have got as much uproar as the Friends theme launch got....? Good point. Now that I took a second look, Iron Man still is a little iffy, and Cap is looking better and better. Quote
just2good Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I don't really like the Iron Man figure. The Hulk and Wolverine look decent, but the Hulk's pants color looks weird. I do like Captain America's shield, though. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Codes ..? -Sci They are at the end of the comic books. Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Hmm I think I'm getting used to the big Iron Man helmet, still I hope they change it Quote
