vexorian Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 It was the same picture I posted in the Superheroes thread in the action figures forum : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57920&st=75 (And it belongs there, really, it is not the head of the Joker minifig, but the head of the action figure) Quote

Delta 38 Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Yeah batman's eyes have always been like that. I have one from the tumbler set and its the same thing. Oh, my mistake. Still, they should fix that, because it is a little weird. Quote
Geki Brick Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 So what does Mini-mates think of all of this? Quote
dark1san Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I don't like that they say that they're releasing X-Men sets buts just wolverine and other characters who have a small part in the X-men. I love Deadpool, but he's no X-man. He actually was part of the X-Men family when he first appeared. Quote
The Penguin Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Ok, so I leave (Gotham) this forum for a couple of months and *BANG* we get such an awsome piece of news! Yay! Well, if I get it correctly it's still unclear if it is going to be a proper set-based theme or just minifigures, but in any case it's great news. So far I can say the Joker looks much better than the old one, which I can't really say about either Catwoman or Ivy, but they're still good. I'm not a fan of JL heroes, so I'm glad that we get them, but I do not have any special emotions about them. Marvel ones impress me less (sorry, my dear colleague tin7)but they're quite good and may be useful target practice sourse of parts for my DC ones. Looking forward to more news! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote

SBrown Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I am not into marvel or dc much. I dont read comics but i do have to say ill be buying all the sets for no other reason than the figures. The minifigs look great but i am most looking forward to batman and iron man. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 When I read this news, I was just prompted to begin reading comics! Unfortunately they're very expensive and hard to get in my country. But now, thanks to the digital age, I have began reading .cbr and .cbz comics, especially from Marvel Vs. DC! And let me say, I'm even more hyped now! On the other hand, reading the original Amazing Spider-Man comics has made me realize how far from the "real" life of Peter Parker this upcoming movie is going to be. I'm so relieved to know that Lego doesn't own the rights to that movie, and that we would get the comic book Spider-Man! I would have liked a black Spider-Man from Spider-Man 3 though. Quote
foolio93 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 He actually was part of the X-Men family when he first appeared. I thought he was apart of Weapon X. Quote
White Cat Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I thought he was apart of Weapon X. Yeah, he is a part of Weapon X but also team up with X-Force so many times. Although, like Wolverine said, no one ever consider him as an X-Men . Quote
foolio93 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I really want to see a Cyclops minifig. I just recently realized what an amazing character he is and it'd be a shame if there was no minifig. Quote
wesker Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I really want to see a Cyclops minifig. I just recently realized what an amazing character he is and it'd be a shame if there was no minifig. I can't see why he won't be. Maybe not next year but I'd imagine he, Prof X, Storm, Jean, Rogue, Gambit, Mystique, Sabertooth and Beast are all characters guarenteed to be made. Quote
Oky Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I wonder if Cyclops' visor would be molded or printed... If the X-Men characters are to be released in a set, I'm pretty sure it will be the X-Jet, as the X-Mansion is probably too boring for TLG. Or at least I hope so since I would love to get a Lockheed rather than a mansion! Ok, so I leave (Gotham) this forum for a couple of months and *BANG* we get such an awsome piece of news! Yay! I am shocked to hear that you don't like Ivy better than the old one, especially since yours looks quite similar to this new one! And like others have said, it is confirmed that there will be sets such as the Batcave. It's just unclear if they will sell minifigs separately in addition to the sets somehow. Quote

Ah, you actually got me here, Oky! Indeed I have a very similar design, but it till can't beat my favourite (so far) version: (shameless self-promotion!) My problem with the new Ivy fig is actually the face. It looks rather generic and boring to my taste. But it's still a good figure. I sure hope, should they make the Penguin one, it will be much better than the original fig. Though the original one is great, so it will be some hard task for TLC designers. ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
1eyedjoker Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Ok, so I leave (Gotham) this forum for a couple of months and *BANG* we get such an awsome piece of news! Yay! I'm in the same boat. I haven't been to eurobricks in a long time, and when I come back I get this pleasant surprise. The Bat is back and he's bringing friends! I need a blue Batman, especially with that cool custom smirk. The new Joker looks great, that hair alone is reason enough for me to pick one up. Never got a Catwoman, so this new one will be much appreciated. Hopefully Lego will also release a new Bane what with the film coming out next year. I'd also like a Superman, though I'm not a huge fan of the character there are stories off his I adore (All-Star Superman, Superman: Peace on Earth, and Hitman #34). As for MARVEL, I'm not really interested unless they release the Punisher or the new Ant-Man (Eric O'Grady). I might pick up a Cyclops for my brother if the minifig is good. Quote

Indeed, it also says the "complete 2012 LEGO Super Heroes: DC Universe collection" has an estimated total retail value of $250. That's more than just a few constraction figures and a handful of minifigures. Quote
The Penguin Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Oh, the horror! The new LEGO DC Universe SUPER HEROES collection will feature 13 iconic super heroes in LEGO minifigure form, including: Batman™, Robin™, Catwoman™, The Joker, The Riddler™, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn™, Bane, Bruce Wayne, Superman™, Lex Luthor™ and Wonder Woman™. Where is Pengy? WHERE IS PENGUIN?! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Oh, the horror! Where is Pengy? WHERE IS PENGUIN?! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Well... it does list thirteen, but those thirteen include Batman and Bruce Wayne, who are of course the same guy, so perhaps there's one more. Or better yet, it does also say "13 iconic super heroes" (emphasis added), and most of the characters listed are villains, so perhaps there's a whole slew of additional minifigures coming out. Ok, probably not, but still. At any rate, the press release does note this is a multi-year licensing agreement (as is the Marvel one), as one might expect (since both these comic universes are huge, after all, and fertile grounds for years and years' worth of inspiration for sets, should TLG be interested; even when it was limited to just Batman, it went for two or three years with at least that many waves, after all). I fully expect these themes to run beyond 2012, in which case we should eventually see plenty of characters not represented in the initial wave (as has been the case with every other multi-wave theme, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Toy Story, and even the previous Batman and Spider-Man lines. The Penguin Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Yes, I guess you're right. But, still. I'd really love to see Penguin at some point, as long as they do not make him monster-like! I'm getting old and grumpy. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
halomaster96 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Has anyone else thought that this list could just be the january wave and there will be even more for a summer wave? That would be great. Quote
AndyC Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 There's also the fact that it's only 13 new figures, so it's always possible you'll just see exactly the same Penguin figure used in previous sets. I've no doubt he'll turn up again at some point anyway, even Arkham can't keep the Penguin hidden away forever. Quote
LandShark Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Has anyone else thought that this list could just be the january wave and there will be even more for a summer wave? That would be great. Yeah, I would imagine it's just a first wave/series. I doubt Lego would get a license this big and only make a few minifigures. Like I said before, there's so many figures they could do, and loads of different versions of each one. This could become an ongoing series (similar to Collectible Minifigures, but not randomly packaged). I too would love to see a Penguin figure, preferably the 60's one first. Quote

I have feeling that soon we are going to get a full list of the january sets and soon after prelim pics of those sets, and then soon after the same thing but with a summer wave. I hope we can get a new batmobile. Also it would be amazing if for marvel we got a SHIELD helicarrier! P.S. I can't wait to see the new Two Face. Quote
