SoupOrFishOil Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) It's the same number of pieces as the Funhouse (389 and 380 respectively) and it sound like a five fig set! Plus I noticed a pattern, it might not be it. DC: 1 two fig(catwoman) 2 three figs( superman, batwing) three 5 figs( the rest) Marvel: 1 2 fig(Cap) 2 3 figs( Wolverine and Loki) 3 5 figs( hulk Quinjet, and Spidy) Thats just my theory Seems plausible. When I said even though, I didn't expect it right down to the amount of minifigures included per set. Should be interesting to see once images come around. deskp Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Well they are either going to show us in the next couple of weeks or they'll wait until the toy fairs and show us afterward? London toy fair is in a week man, if the sets/figures are there there will be images online from people. Does anyone remember if the POTC lego was @ last eyars london toy fair, cause I only find images of it from the new york toy fair. might give some indication of what we should expect this year. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 London Toy Fair is generally very closed to photography. I recall only one time in the last five-ish years that somebody actually got some photos. However, there will be reports about what is there, which will probably have information regarding minifigures in sets and the like. Quote

Last year Brickset had a report I believe, and I think FBTB might be going this year. You can bet that both of those know what they are talking about, for the most part. Quote

I'm getting a little tired of guesses, roumors and assumptions, generates some conversation though! (I'm not saying brickset and fbtb will be guessing & assuming) Quote
Brickity Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Oh my God I'm having a heart attack considering the toy fair is very soon. Quote

I'm getting a little tired of guesses, roumors and assumptions, generates some conversation though! I personally find this Banner debate much more interesting than the one about Batman's cape/wings I read that FBTB is going, and Brickset usually does. I'm sure that we'll get some good information, though I recall last year that Huw only vaguely remembered some things. Most of which were somewhat accurate, but caused speculation that was really ridiculous (Madame Maxime in the Forbidden Forest? ) We don't normally get good photos until the New York Toy Fair though, which is on Feb 14th, so then at the earliest, possibly 15th. Of course we might be lucky to get some from Nuremburg, but I don't think that images from there are too common. Quote
sok117 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Descriptions of Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape and Wolverine Chopper Showdown What do you guys thing? These sets both seem very plausible, The wolverine chopper showdown sounds like a great set! I'm buessing an Apache-helicopter and a Mutt-William motorcycle. Loki's cosmic cube sounds interesting, an off-roader sounds weird for a Norse God to be driven, but Iron Man and Hawkeye definitely sweaten the deal! Quote

This has been posted and discussed, check a few pages back. But Loki is not in Asgard and not really a god, so him driving an off- roader sounds plausible! Quote
Markypops Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I honestly thought we would have seen pictures of the April wave by now. Descriptions are all fine and well but they cannot convey the little details that Lego put into the minifigures, which will be one of the major attractions for me and may decide wether I buy these sets. Nice, didn't expect a minifig of him. No pictures is really getting frustrating. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Even if we'd seen pictures, they would probably have been preliminary and blurry, meaning you wouldn't be able to see the little details in the minifigures anyway. I'm guessing we won't see clear official pictures until very close to the release date, owing to the fact that some of these sets will contain some sort of spoilers for the Avengers film. When LEGO sets contain spoilers, LEGO tends to try to keep them mum until just before the set release. Quote
Markypops Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I get the thing with the spoilers, but I thought that Lego may have released pictures of the minifigures to wet our appetite! I think that we will see something when the New York Toy Fair rolls around in just under a month. Quote

I think part of the problem, as said above, is that most of these sets contain potential spoilers for the Avengers movie. Preliminary images for June's Lord of the Rings Lego sets obviously don't contain spoilers since the movies have been out for years. Even minifigs might give something away. I suspect we'll only see a few images at Toy Fair to keep things under wrap for longer. Edited January 17, 2012 by BigHobbit Quote

We may only see the Spider-Man and Wolverine sets. I recall that almost all of the Toy Story 3 sets were not at the NY Toy Fair in order to not give away the film. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) I'm actually surprised they've managed to keep these sets under wraps, TLG usually has a hard time doing so As far as I remember, prelims of every theme belonging to an upcoming film have been leaked a couple of months ahead of the release (examples: ROTS, Indy 4, Toy Story 3, PoP, HP7.2 and POTC), so this is definitely a first. I think the sets may show up at the Toy Fair as the release date for the film is set only two months later, so there's not much of a gap (Toy Story 3 on the other hand got released 4 months after the Toy Fair) Edited January 17, 2012 by Lego-Freak Quote
TenorPenny Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I personally think most Lego 'leaks' are actually released from TLG, anyway, so the lack of any 'leaks' - as well as keeping the Avengers movie under wraps - is not a huge surprise. Quote

I dont think lego putes them online, but rather have images in their retailers cataloges and that, as long as they dont share images outside of lego they wont get leaked Quote
Deefuzz Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Deadpool in the Wolverine Chopper? Nice, didn't expect a minifig of him. No pictures is really getting frustrating. That's what excited me the most. Consider it bought on site if the Merc with a Mouth is in it! Quote
willybob Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I dont think lego putes them online, but rather have images in their retailers cataloges and that, as long as they dont share images outside of lego they wont get leaked Exactly, thinking LEGO is organizing leaks is an urban legend, leaks come from retailer catalogue but not under LEGO supervision as resellers must respect the NDA. LEGO is not pushing retailers to publish those pics, they just know that it will happen anyway.... Quote

Sure they do treat us once in a while, but that wouldn't be smart from a buisness standpoint since it's easy for rivals to steal designs that way. Plus, the only people who really care are TFOLs and AFOLs. KFOLs do too probably, but you know, I can't really explain On another note, my Batcave finally arrived! Hoping none of the figs are misprinted... Quote
