Am I the only one who thinks the Lego Iron Man is just far too RED, and not enough gold? Why not gold arms or some printed detail, something??

Depends what version you go by. Movie which this should be based on I would agree, comic book version maybe not so much. If there were too much detail it could bleed or not show up right if on a darker colour. Though when I think of the gladiator, sleepy head and mummy maybe they could manage? Good point.

Although I grabbed all the new Batman stuff, and have picked up the random Pirates of the Caribbean or Prince of Persia sets because they were on sale or looked interesting, I can confidently say that this is the first licensed theme I am excited about.

I still hate how licensed minifigs don't use the classic yellow "skin" palate. It doesn't look right when I have them interact with other minis.

Bring on the Cap...we NEED a Lego Red Skull.

I think side arm/leg printing is only done in China.

I am not because he's a generic archer in generic combat gear. Gimme good ol purple Hawkeye and then I'll get excited.

I love Hawkeye, but I agree completely. This version will be pretty boring until we get the purple version (if). I should have stated that clearer.

Have you seen Wonder Woman? Comes in her own bag(well her hair, lassoo and legs do) so I think like all licensed sets they would think about it and to be clear I don't buy into the China parts hysteria, they clearly bring new development to the minifigure.

Im not tryna start a china-plastic discussion but I think its worth noteing that so far all side printed parts have come from china and some people have issues with that.

I love more printing options and invention, personaly I prefer all my minifigures to be equal in quality/feel (not saying better/worse quality but im used to non-china ones)

Apologies I didn't think you were.

The side arm printing on the Gladiator is exquisite and a great many of the superheroes who may possibly turn up in this theme would definitely benefit from the factories that carry it out.

I definetly would like lego to make arm printing as common as leg printing when fitting the figure.

All of the new Super Hero minis I've gotten have been mostly great. The new Wonder Woman was really sick...I liked seeing her get the proper brick treatment. New Joker and his henchmen are really cool too.

Only bunk thing? Batman...you'd think they would have corrected the headpiece by now to not have that silly "white headband" thing that whites out the eyes when the mask is on.

Looks fine until you take the mask off, then you've just got a Bruce Wayne that looks like a real ding-dong in a headband.

Looks like Super Heroes was overshadowed by Star Wars and Lord of the Rings in reports, sadly. But I guess that there really wasn't much to report on. I'd like to see the rest of the minifigures, just to know, and the Captain America set (because at this moment, that is probably the only thing I might consider getting, until we see Spider-man). But really, it would be what the set is like and the second minifigure included.

I don't really care for Marvel, so I'm a little disappointed that there wasn't anything for DC summer. But I guess that it's just money I don't have to spend and gives me even more to be disappointed about look forward to while waiting for Nuremburg (did I spell that right?) and New York toy fairs.

I must admit the Hulk minifig is beginning to grow on me, especially now with the head printing which significantly gives the fig an overall better look than the crude preliminary version we've previously seen before. Cap's pretty good IMO. Now what I'm interested to see is how they'll fix the hideous oversized helmet of Iron Man.

Yep I completely agree with you. In fact, I'm going to be buying a custom Iron Man head to put on me Iron Man.

We haven't seen the finished minifig for old Iron Man yet, so relax your socks. It could be awesome.

Or you could do it like the movies and promotional posters/art all do...show the heroes in everything

except their masks/helmets.

The wings are on the sides of his head, and the pic doesn't show the sides of his head.

The head is round you know so we do se a fair bit of the sides, they would have to be pretty far back to not show.

But not round enough to see the entirety of it.

Good, ole Wing-Head. I know Sam Jackson is a different type

of Nick Fury than the one I grew up on, but for old times'

sake, he better call Cap Wing-Head just once in this Avengers movie.

Also, a Red Skull lego mini would be SICK. I am so glad I picked up

like 9 of those Toy Story 3 Green Army Men w/ jeep sets.

I have been modifying all the little green men into Cap's WWII squadron.

Touch me!

Here is FBTB's description of the sets!

UK Toy Fair 2012 - Super Heroes 2

Now, this part of the Lego stand was shrouded (quite literally) in secret, with only one or two people being allowed in at a time. I was shown the DC sets that we’ve already seen (and some of us have already bought). The one feature of the 6863 Batwing set that they were showing off was the pretty accurate shadow the batwing creates.

We quickly moved onto the Marvel sets, which were in a section of the stand where they had a bigfig / maxifig build of Ironman which was super cool.

I kinda glossed over the Hero Factory / Super Heroes combos because they didn’t really appeal to me.

We then came to 5 new sets from the Marvel line :

6865 Captain America’s Avenging Cycle … this was the only set on display to feature Captain America, who was sat astride a motorbike. The rest of the set was missing, because Marvel had asked Lego not to show it, because it would spoil part of the movie?! Anyway, there’s another un-named minifigure and vehicle … one can only assume it’s an enemy of some sort. Priced at £11.99, so a bargain whatever!

6866 Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown … Comes with Wolverine, Magneto and Deadball … the figs were all pretty amazing. Wolverine has normal hands holding the claw pieces, rather than anything moulded like the collectable minifig boxer, as we feared. I can’t actually remember the vehicles included in the set, sorry! Priced at £19.99.

6867 Loki’s Cosmic Cube Escape … Comes with Loki, Hawkeye and Ironman. Hawkeye is driving a jeep type vehicle with Loki in the flatbed at the back … he comes with a custom headpiece and staff and the “Cosmic Cube” (a 1 x1 clear brick!). I spent most of my time drooling over the Ironman figure, which was brilliant. My fears over the head being too large were instantly eased and I was amazed to see that the front of the helmet lifts up to reveal whichever of the double sided printed head you’ve got facing forward. Priced at £19.99, this set is a must buy purely for that fig!!

6868 Hulk’s Hellcarrier Breakout … I think this was Bruce Banner’s lab? Not sure … but anyway, the set comes with Hulk, Hawkeye, Loki and Thor. The Hulk figure was pretty damn cool, articulated and I liked the fact the head was in the shape of a normal Lego minifig head, albeit it bigger to be in scale. The Hawkeye figure seemed to have a new bow & arrow type weapon. Priced at £49.99

6869 Quinjet Aerial Battle … A pretty substantial set, with the Quinjet being pretty large, very sturdy and eminently swooshable. Quite a bit of play features (moveable wings, cockpit, pop out undercarriage thingy) and minfigures Black Widow, Ironman, Thor and Loki. Priced at £69.99, I think … although I don’t seem to have written the price down!

These sets are due to hit in April, so not long to wait.

And that was it … no sign of any Spiderman or Green Lantern sets, so maybe they’re coming later or perhaps they’re retailer exclusives.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh at this typo, which FBTB appears to have quickly corrected:

6866 Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown … Comes with Wolverine, Magneto and Deadball

 Anyway, the sets sound decent, especially the quinjet, but there seems to be a lot of minifigure repetition in the Avengers themed sets. That makes me wish that we had gotten a helicarier set, as that would have no doubt provided us with Maria Hill and a couple of generic Shield agents. Instead, they've merely shoved Nick Fury into the Captain America set. Also, apart from Loki, Magneto, and Deadpool, every one of the minifigures is a hero. I would have hoped we'd at least get one of the alien warriors appearing in the movie (although perhaps he's one of the Avenging Cycle elements they hid from view). But what I really wish is that we had gotten some sets based on the previous entries in the Marvel movieverse, which could feature characters like Iron Monger, Abomination, Red Skull, and the Frost Giant King. Ah well, maybe next year. :sceptic:

The unnamed secret minifigure that Marvel did not want to reveal in Captain America's Avenging cycle must be Nick Fury since we know he is coming out and since he wasn't in any other set. Not much of a secret after all.

Yes but there is a figure missing from the hulk and Quinjet sets each! It's a bad guy that's in the cap set, someone the Loki is working with! Nick could come in the other two! I hoping it's Quinjet so we can get a Bruce Banner in the hulk set

Deadball... :roflmao:

Well, now we pretty much have confirmation that the helicarrier set is indeed just interior and does not include Banner.

I gotta agree with FBTB and Neville about the Nick Fury question. He will most likely be in one of the bigger sets whereas the Cap set will come with some kind of enemy. I mean, otherwise the Avenging Cycle wont have anything to, well, avenge.
