Might be Bucky/winter soldier.

For the hundredth time: The set is based on the Avengers movie, not Captain America, so there will be no Red Skull, Bucky, Nazis, or any other characters from that movie, except maybe Nick Fury.

Anyway, the sets sound decent, especially the quinjet, but there seems to be a lot of minifigure repetition in the Avengers themed sets. That makes me wish that we had gotten a helicarier set, as that would have no doubt provided us with Maria Hill and a couple of generic Shield agents. Instead, they've merely shoved Nick Fury into the Captain America set. Also, apart from Loki, Magneto, and Deadpool, every one of the minifigures is a hero. I would have hoped we'd at least get one of the alien warriors appearing in the movie (although perhaps he's one of the Avenging Cycle elements they hid from view).:

I agree with you completely. For me by far the biggest disappointment of this line was the decision to make the helicarrier a playset rather than a vehicle similar in size to the Star Destroyer in the Star Wars line. And the inclusion of Maria Hill and some agents would have been a fantastic addition to these sets rather than the multiples of Loki, Thor, and Iron Man.

But take heart, there are many more Marvel movies coming out in the years to come, even one based on Shield itself. So there is always a chance that Lego will someday give the helicarrier the full set it deserves.

I gotta agree with FBTB and Neville about the Nick Fury question. He will most likely be in one of the bigger sets whereas the Cap set will come with some kind of enemy. I mean, otherwise the Avenging Cycle wont have anything to, well, avenge.

I have to agree with you, and rumors about the Avengers movie point to that additional villain being the Red Skull. Lego did announce that they were making a Nick Fury minifigure, so there is no real reason to keep it under wraps. If they were going to include a Nick Fury figure with these sets, I believe they would have brought it to the toy fair. It's not like the inclusion of Fury would be giving away a part of the movie like the Skrulls would be. Sadly I don't think we are going to see him this round.

You could read my post above, or you could use google which will give you varying reports as to why my answer is or isn't a load of crap. Anyway, that is part of the fun with new Lego sets, we just have to wait and see! Sometimes if you know too much, it kind of spoils the excitement, like looking at your presents before Christmas.

Unless of course Bucky makes a rather odd, strategic comeback. Which would be confusing, like the comics. :P

Bucky would make an interesting figure for a future set. It would be a rather obscure minifig like the Red Robin from the Batcave. No matter how much we nitpick this Superheroes line, we should thank our lucky stars that we aren't saddled with such a horrendous licensed line as this:

(Shudders)That image will haunt my dreams. Two horrible lines colliding together.

LINK, Warning its not any smaller than the comic con one, but personaly I like it

Thanks for the link. While I understand that it has to be a oversized to accommodate the opening function of the helmet, I still find it too unnatural and awkwardly large. I honestly would've preferred something along the lines of this custom Iron Man - no opening function yet looks good. Well. I guess we can't have everything the way we want it to be.

Oh wow - that is a sweet looking custom job! Yeah, not a fan of the helmet look thus far. Maybe it will grow on me, or be better up close, or maybe they are still tweaking it...

If nothing else, I think we should be glad we're finally getting these Marvel (other thn Spidey) and DC (other than Bats) characters!

not for me ;)

NEVER for me ;)

I am twice happy - when I see what will come up next, and when I buy it ;)

Are we getting a Spiderman? In my certainlynotanexpert head I seem to remember that he was not allowed in the Avengers film because of some licensing, him being owned by another film company. Therefore, unless LEGO owns ALL rights to Marvel then I don't know whether we'll see a Spidey.

Also, I would be really looking forward for Deadball Deadpool, except he seems to be in the Wolverine set, therefore being based on the "X-Men:Wolverines" movie, therefore, he will be terrible as that movie screwed him up.

However, the sets seem to be great, the Quinjet! Yes! I am glad that the cheaper sets come with the coolest minifigs as well

Right now, all signs point to an exclusive Spider-man set, Doc Ock's Ambush, coming out this year. The Wolverine set is not based off the movie and is instead comic versions, so you should be quite happy with the Deadpool minifig.

Spiderman was listed as being made a minifig in the original press release. He and the X-men will be based on the comic versions. (Megablocks got the license for the movie sets) I wouldn't worry about Deadpool, it'll most likely be based on his comic likeness as well. :classic:

Does anyone have an update on the Bucky Barnes minifig? Will he have regular or short legs?

If he does appear (which I doubt. I think he'd be far more likely to be in a Cap sequel than Avengers where they'd have more time to focus on the implications of his return.) he would be based off the movie appearance and since he was a normal sized person in First Avenger, I also doubt he'd get shorter.
