Tomas turns to the trap door where Durkon has stood the moment before and gives an exasperated sigh. Without saying a word, he strides over to the door of the secret compartment and gets down on one knee to examine it for ways to pry it open without pulling the lever.

"I vote we leave him."

"I am eager to agree but perhaps there is adventure down there."

Tomas glances up as he hears his fellow heroes' conversation. "As much trouble as he is, we're not leaving anyone behind." He says in a bored tone before going back to examining the trap door.

Tomas tries opening the trapdoor, but seems to have no luck in doing it.

Tomas scowls and stands up, brushing himself off. "Hmm..." he says, thinking of a way to get the door open without falling to what could possibly be his death.

After a few seconds, Tomas steps off the trap door, hooks his staff onto the level somehow, and then pulls it to open the door.

Tomas pulls the lever with his staff and the trapdoor swings open. Tomas looks down a deep tunnel through the ground, but a rope seems to have triggered a trap that closed a door made of Iron. Painted on the iron is a skull... A series of levers appear to be holding the tunnel together.

"Well, that's rather ominous..." Tomas mutters as he scratches his head.

"So, what do you all say? Would you like to jump down into the deep, dark tunnel?"

"Levers, why is it allways levers... :look: So, we're actually doing this? We're going down the rabbit's hole? Should we maybe consult Sam on this? This could be the trap door that feeds the vicious caged subterranean dragon. There's a skull on the iron door fer Nature's sake! :hmpf: "

"Well, I'd love it if we could ask Sam where this hole leads, but he seems to have disappeared." :look: "I hate to leave poor Durkon waiting, but maybe it would be best for us to try to go find him before jumping right in? But then again, there's no reason to be wary of danger - we are heroes after all. And who knows, maybe there's a skull on the door because the people in there practice osteology?" :look:

Well, I for one think that we should follow, there may be an adventure, there might not be, as for me, I believe in the "No Hero Left Behind" program. Who is with me?

"I'd like to find Sam and ask him about the trap--door. If we go, I'll go last, and if I hear your screams as you're devoured by the dragon whos feeding chute this is, I'll stay behind. Be sure to scream loudly."

"Why did you sign up for this quest?" Hoke asks with a wink as he climbs down the rope into the tunnel.

Hoke climbs down the man hole until he reaches the iron door. He lands on it with a thud, and an echo can be heard. He now notices there is a ladder, hidden a bit back from the sides of the manhole so as not to be obvious to an intruder. What will the party do?

All of a sudden, yelling and screaming can be heard from the tunnel!

Assuming Hoke relays this info up to us; I bring up the rear as our party descends into the darkness. I yell to the mysteriously absent Sam, "Hey, we found this hole in your floor! We'll be down there if you need us! If we don't come back, it's because your dragon ate us, and if that's the case, hire some more heros to kill you and your dragon! Cheers!"

"Wooops, I didn't notice the screaming. False alarm Sam! I'm not going in there yet! Hoke, what's going on down there! Is it a dragon?"

Hoke isn't in the dungeon thingy, he is standing on the Iron door.

I can't speak for the party, but as long as it's a door and not a chute, I guess we could enter it. Would someone like to check for traps unlike last-time?

It is a chute, but has a door that was closed by a trigger when Durkon fell down.

"Yes, if we're to get Durkon back, we'll definitely need to go through the door. Let's go."
