Bricksandparts Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 QM Note: @Dannylonglegs - Oops! I had that and realized I had an extra player. Ignore the pink character, I'll have it removed in the next update. @UsernameMDM - I'm not trying to completely change the game, I just like to occasionally add in fun mechanics. If you want, you can leave the quest and I could replace you. It's up to you. I want to try to make this a fun quest, more original, not just regular battles (No offense to Sandy or other QMs). Quote
Bricksandparts Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) QM Note: I don't know how I forgot, but you have 5 turns for moving each round in addition to an attack. Edited May 12, 2012 by Bricksandparts Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 You aren't adding mechanics, you are changing them. What if I want to attack from the back row? Are we doing flanking now? If there are no free attacks them what happens if we the players choose to all do defensive actions? Do the other enemies just sit there and pick their nose? Again, I am not purposefully trying to be difficult, but you keep adding and changing stuff on the fly to an established rule set. Why are you hosting a Heorica game if you don't like Heroica? Aaaaand what about the stun, the axe and the bow? Quote

I had already fixed the items and stun. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I understand where you're coming from. I'm willing to try them for a dynamic battle, but I'm not sure every one should be like this. I am happy to see a map of the room. "I'll move 5 places closer to the machine gun (between the third brown square from left to right and the blackness), which will put me in long ranged attack range. I'll throw a lightning bomb at the gun, which is mechanic and therefore weak to lightning, the blast should also damage all other enemies in range, DM willing. " Quote
Bricksandparts Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 QM Note: Just say south, east, west, and north for directions. I'll be nice and let you take diagonals. Also, you must use two movement turns to climb down the wall. Quote

Bricksandparts Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 It might not have been specific, but to clarify, the blue outlined boxes are above a wall so you need to use two movement turns to climb down. Quote
The_Customizer Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 OOC: This is pretty confusing, though hopefully we will get the hang of this. I would like to move: South 3 (should put me behind brown wall) West 1 South 1 Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Wouldn't be easier if the grid was alpha-numeric (like battleship)? Quote
Sandy Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 IMPORTANT NOTICE! This quest is now officially put on a break until I sort a few things with the Quest Master. Do not post into this topic until I give permission to do it again. EDIT: The quest will now continue with the normal game mechanics. Quote
RPGer Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Durkon shoots lightning at the machine-gun from the back row! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Sylph throws a lightning bomb from back row. Quote
The_Customizer Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 OOC: Shouldn't we have the normal set-up of all the stats before we make our attacks? Also, do we gain anything by doing the surprise attack? Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 OOC: Shouldn't we have the normal set-up of all the stats before we make our attacks? Also, do we gain anything by doing the surprise attack? I think someone had to get the ball rolling. And, it would be cool if we could all be hastened for the turn! Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 We should probably wait till B&P posts the new setup. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 We should probably wait till B&P posts the new setup. But this way, we're providing motivation. I'll restate my actions when he comes anyway. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) QM Note: Oh, I thought that you'd figure the enemies are the same. In stead of giving everyone hastened, I'll give no free hits the first round. So same enemies, the Train Tugger has no more purpose, but the rest of the enemies are the same. EDIT: The hastened no longer has any effect on the enemies that had it. Each even round the Machine gun deals no damage (and therefore no free hit) Edited May 12, 2012 by Bricksandparts Quote
The_Customizer Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I shall attack Guard 3 from the back row with my handcannon. Since the machine gun won't be getting any free hits, lets focus on wiping out the guards in this round. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 So I am assuming all the of enemy long range fighters are on the back row? Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 BTW, my attack is targeted at the machine gun pilot. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 So I am assuming all the of enemy long range fighters are on the back row? Yes, I forgot to mention that. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) "Hold your attacks against the gunner!" cried Hoke, "Let us concentrate on the guards, then we shall unleash an onslaught upon the mechanical weapon." Reasoning: Let's kill the little guys first, then do our double damage attacks to the machine gun all at once. IF it only attacks one target, I can soak up most of the damage with my SP. Target the guards, then machine gets a free attack on me, and I soak up the attack, then it can't attack the next round. OR does it get 4 free attacks, and if so, do those free attacks just go down the order one after the other? Sound good? Edited May 12, 2012 by UsernameMDM Quote
Bricksandparts Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 OR does it get 4 free attacks, and if so, do those free attacks just go down the order one after the other? Oooh! I hadn't thought of that, but it sounds like a cool idea, but since I didn't have it that way originally, I'll just keep that in mind for other battles. Quote
