Dannylonglegs Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Durkonna does what the trigger potion-happy cleric suggests. "I'm well trained in these arts. I surpassed my master's knowledge of these arts before his... tragic death. I have learned even more since then. " Quote
UsernameMDM Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 "Would Sam be able to aid us in this task? Perhaps we can box up these potions and bring them to him." Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 Durkonna smells 1, 3, 20, and 23, but cannot make out exactly what it is. Perhaps there were a little bit of different things added or the smell has changed over time. Quote
RPGer Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 "So should we make the potion now? Or do more work?" Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 QM Note: I'm just waiting for you guys to decide something. Is there anything I missed? Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Sylph contemplated the arrangement of unmarked potions, growing increasingly frustrated with the last person to have used them and not list their names. The annoyance reached its breaking point, and Sylph tilted his head like a dog and calmly reached out for the potion marked 2. His other hand reached out for potion 9. "If you gentlemen, and gentleladies, and not-so-gentle-confused, wouldn't mind, I suppose we should do this by trial by error. I simply wish we knew what purpose this potion served. I'll wait for you to authorize me to commence mixxing. I've explained why 2 and 9 are what I explained they were. I think now that the third ingredient is 20 or maybe 3 for its similarity to the first 2. If something was added, it would most likely be ingredients for this potion, don't you think? Has anyone seen a cauldron? Wait, I think I have a portable one... that I don't put in my inventory... " With that, Sylph retrieved a bowl sized iron pot with a handle from his bag of holding, and waited for Tomas to let him start with the combination 2, 9, and 20. Quote
Tamamono Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 "Okay, well, I undestand that 2 and 9 are the Tarshgom and Apricot and Lemon respectively, but are you sure about 20?" "I'm not entirely convinced that that's the last ingredient. However, we do have plenty of scrolls, so I see no harm in at least trying the combination of 2, 9, and 20." Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 QM Note: Err... You got it the first try... Thought it'd be a bit harder. The party mixes the ingredients in Sylph's dandy cooking pot. They mix it together and them lay the magical parchment in it, hoping it'd be right. The page dampens and then shines brightly on the edges. They take it out, and some runes begin to appear, it appears the party has been able to successfully added the correct ingredients! Does the party want to try to make any other potions (without using all of the potions ) to see what they do or to try to cure Durkon? If so, please state your actions, otherwise, tell me when you are ready to go talk to Sam. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) "Ha! I told you, I excel in this field. Are there instructions for a gender-swap potion in the book, or any of the books we found in the other room? Before I check that out though, I will label the ingredients we know. If I can't find a recipe, we could always just leave Durkonette that way until she reverts to her original form... If she reverts. I personally would like to find a potion that transforms it's drinker into a toad. I was working on one before I joined Heroica, but had come to a dead end without the input of other... similarly minded artists. Of course, we are on a quest and this is not a time for a personal field day. " Edited June 4, 2012 by Dannylonglegs Quote
The_Customizer Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Well, that was actually pretty easy! Now what? Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Well, that was actually pretty easy! Now what? "Now we bring it back to Sam, or we make a cure potion for Durkon. I'll do the latter in a jiffy if we can find a recipe. I should look for one." Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Sylph tries looking through the contents of the books, but finds that none have any. It'd take too long to try to find a real potion that may be able to counteract it. The party can still try to make their own potions though... Quote

Bricksandparts Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) OOC: For Durkonna's cure. Oh, in that case: Edited June 4, 2012 by Bricksandparts Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Oh, in that case: "Ok, We're definitely not taking Durkonette back to Heroica." "Hmmm. With no recipe, I suppose I could... Or we could, just spitball ideas. I suppose three ingredients makes most common potions, and while I've never made one, I suspect it shouldn't fall to far from the mold. Or we could go back to Sam and maybe he'll know how to make to potion. What do y'all say? Should we give it a burl?" Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 So does the party (PL mostly) agree to go meet up with Sam? Quote
Tamamono Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 "Wow, nice job, Sylph." "You need to become a professional alchemist." "For now, we should go meet up with Sam." Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 The party returns to Sam's shop and finds the Guild members talking with Sam, discussing the vault ownership. When the party enters, the group look sat them and Sam passes them some bread. As Durkonna enters last, they just stare... "What happened to Durkon?! He's a... Well, girl!" "Oh, for the love of... What did you do?" Guard 1 tries not to laugh, and covers his mouth. "Well, he... Uh, she's pretty..." Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 "Well, he... Uh, she's pretty..." "I'm sure that makes him (her) feel better. " Jests Sylph at the guard. "So, Sam, do you know of a gender swap potion, or a 'become a boy' potion?" Sylph demanded of Sam in a pleasant manner. "Also," He started, his tone changing to annoyance, "Were you the last person to use the potions? If you were, you really aught to label the potions." Quote
