The_Customizer Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 I believe the less anyone knows about our quest, and what we are trying to do, the better off we are. Let's just state what we need, and move on from there. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 "Alright, I'll get things rolling." "Hello," Sylph said politely, addressing the shop-keep sliding forward, cape blowing slightly in the absent wind. "Do you have any of the following?; Venom, saber-teeth, tetonic potions, voodoo chalices, spirit fog, demon blood, elixirs, mage boosters, wizard rums, and/or Crystal chalices? Quote

"I could get you a Tetonic potion, Venom, and elixir, but none of the others. I'll sell you the Venom for 15 gold, elixir for 25 gold, and you need the three basic tetonic potions to make a Tetonic potion. You could buy each off of me, but there are some things I need help with if you've got the time in exchange..." Quote

UsernameMDM Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 "I believe we can successfully procure the materials you need in exchange for the materials we seek. In what way are we to proceed in acquiring the items?" Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Olinn winced slightly as the words left Slyphs' lips; 'Arrangement'? That didn't sound good to him. The fact that he'd been given the task of leading this party through the unknown was bad enough, without having to do favours for random strangers aswell" Quote

Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 "I guess so", Olinn whispered, but he still wasn't so sure. Then again, these were veteren fighters he was questing with; they'd know all about how to deal with the problems of the outside world. Quote

The fact that he'd been given the task of leading this party through the unknown was bad enough, without having to do favours for random strangers aswell" Tomas lifted an eyebrow at the boy's uneasiness. While he isn't too keen on doing favors for this shady looking man either, Tomas is willing to do what's necessary to acquire the necessary items. Olinn, lad, don't worry, we often have to do things like this, the less we spend, the better off we are. "Erdathcath speaks the truth. An afternoon of work to get the items is much preferable to having to spend several hundred gold to get said ingredients. Like she said, these type of tasks are not at all foreign to us. Don't worry, we'll show you the ropes." Quote

Turning to the young man, Sylph stated, "If things are not arranged, then nothing is ordered." Pleased with his non-sequitor, Sylph nodded in agreement with Thomas. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 "I guess so", Olinn whispered, but he still wasn't so sure. Then again, these were veteren fighters he was questing with; they'd know all about how to deal with the problems of the outside world. "Guess so?" Hoke asked with an incredulous look on his face. "Do not guess my friend for arrangements such as these are why we are here. This is why we carry sword, bow, and gem. This is why we travel halfway around the world. What are adventurers without an adventure? What are questers without a quest. My friend, arrangements like these are why we were made. Relish them while you yet still draw breath!" Hoke laughed as he clasped Olinn's shoulder and shook him gently. "We will rid you of that green soon enough!" Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Olinn found himself suddenly grinning, something he didn't normally do, least of all in the company of others. He stopped grinning, however, when he realised that the potion merchant had still not told them what he wanted in return for the items. He raised an eyebrow at the man as his cat Sparky sniffed his feet. OOC: Quote
Bricksandparts Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 QM Note: sorry it's taking me so long! "I need some help with some crates I'm shipping to Adrarenad. I Accidentally placed the crates in the wrong order and I don't know which crate contains which stuff. I need some help with brewing a potion, and could use a hand in some pest patrol, err, kinda big pest control. You need a red, blue, and yellow tetonic potion to make what I believe you need... Of course, you could just buy each of the potions off of me for 50 coins each..." Quote

"So basically, you're saying that we could help you brew a potion and fight some large pests or pay 150 gold to get the ingredients to make what we need? I can't speak for the rest of the party, but I think I'd rather do the former." "The crates don't contain anything illegal, do they?" Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 "We shall provide a solution for your pest problem," Hoke says as he pats Vintul. Quote

And no, the crates contain some ingredients for your average potion and tonic." Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 "I-I suppose it would be good t-to test out my new bow..." Quote
Bricksandparts Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 QM Note: So the party is going to do the Pest patrol mini-quest first? Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 OOC: I guess so, if everyone else is okay with it. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 "So I suppose I'll lead you through the problem. When I send my supplies to Adrarenad, sometimes Werewolves can get in the way and stop me from getting to Adrarenad. I suppose we could walk down to the area?" The party gets on Sam's wagon and travels down the trail. When Sam stops, he gets out of the wagon and ties the horses to a post. Some of the party members realize the rocks around them seem a bit unstable. "Well this is where we normally have trouble. If you want, you may be able to make something to help you, or you could just wait for the battle." The area is desolate, not much grass or vegetation. If the party plans to make any traps to help in battle, state what you will try to accomplish. Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Olinn looks around for any springy roots or something similar to make a tripwire from. Quote
The_Customizer Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Hmm, perhaps we should dig some holes, and set up some traps in the trees, and maybe I could hide it the trees as i would blend in well, and I can shoot from up there as well. Quote

"That would be quite difficult to accomplish without trees. " Hoke looked around to get a better grasp of the terrain. Can we get a better description of the terrain? Quote
Bricksandparts Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Olinn looks around for some roots. With the help of a shovel, Olinn is able to gather some roots and is able to tie them together to make a somewhat strong rope about 12 feet long (brick length). Hoke makes the point that there are no trees in the area. After examining the area, he notices: * Some posts from an old fence * A large rock (about 10 by 12 bricks, 4 bricks high-20 plates high) * Some cracks in the dirt * A muddy pool of water with some weeds growing around it (about 6 by 8 bricks, 2 plates deep) * A small hole in the ground where Olinn dug (about 6 by 6 bricks, 3 plates deep) * Not much vegetation in area other than the weeds around the muddy pool * Some charred sticks where Olinn dug, probably used for a fire * Some ash with the charred sticks, further proof that this was probably a fire site * The level of dirt below Olinn's digging site was very hard and not easily workable (About 3 plates deep) What would the party like to do? Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 "Hmm... wh-where do you guys think we sh-should put this?" Olinn asked, dangling the root-rope he made while Sparky swatted at it playfully. Quote
