QM Note: Mibbiwocket is supposed to do the battle order, but I'll just do what would probably be best for the party. Also, I'll assume that Olinn fights from on the rock.

Results of Round 1 of the Direwolve Battle:

Hoke Ablesword vs. Elite Direwolve pup A - Critical Hit (2x10=20 20+16=36 36 damage dealt)

>Tomas vs. Elite Direwolve pup B - Meditate (22+1/22 > 22, +0 ether)

>Erdathcath Madilinas vs. Elite Direwolve pup A - Damage (8/2=4 4 damage taken)

>Sylph Solanum vs. Elite Direwolve pup B - Critical Hit (2x7=14 14+12=26 26 damage dealt)

>Olinn Whisperwind vs. Elite Direwolve pup A - Critical Hit (2x3=6 6+1=7 7 damage dealt)

Large rock Mechanics:

Fighting on the rock does not lower damage dealt, but does halve damage received. If the enemy is at close range, back row fighting automatically becomes front row fighting. If you have any questions about the system just ask.

Because all the heroes are at the rock, the Direwolves are at close range. Hoke fights bravely off of the rock and smashes his sword at Elite Direwolve pup A (36 damage) Tomas, fighting from the back row and on the rock meditates and gains nothing... Erdathcath is overwhelmed and is struck on the back side by Elite Direwolve pup A, taking it's revenge on the party (4 damage) Sylph bashes it's sword into Elite Direwolve pup B (26 damage) and Olinn finishes the round shooting his first true enemy in the side (7 damage) The battle rages on!

Elite Direwolve pup A

Type: Beast

Level: 8 / 6 to Tomas

Special I: Howl – Summons another Direwolf to join the battle. If there are three Direwolves in battle, Blood Fang is used instead.

Are you fighting from the rock? If you are fighting near the rock, there is no disadvantage of fighting on the rock.

Qm Note: I'm trying to make this an interesting battle. The Mechanics are partly the same, but a little different. If you are fighting from the rock, your front/back row is chosen by where the enemy is, not you. For instance, if Hoke decides to go off of the rock and lure them away from the rock in his turn, all attacks towards that enemy from the rock will be a back row attack, This though will draw the Direwolve back to the rock. Hope I didn't make this more complicated than it needs to be, I just wanted to make it more fun and more open-minded to a new player as the PL.

Because all the heroes are at the rock, the Direwolves are at close range. Hoke does the final blow to the Direwolve pup A (36 damage), laying him down. The party becomes happy and believe they are doing well until the other Direwolve strikes. It sinks it's fangs into Erdathcath, and transfers her health to itself. (6 damage recieved, -6 damage dealt) Sylph and Tomas miss (pretty much) and Olinn is knocked backward as the Direwolve jumped up at him and scratched him across the chest. Sparky Hisses loudly which seems to somehow scare the Direwolve a step back. The battle continues!

The party hears more barks and howls in the distance. Gradually the noise gets louder. The party still has to fight all of the enemies, but it could be in 1 or 2 battles. I'm willing to give Olinn 2 levels of experience if he makes it through the battle(s). But the party may want to save the trap for the other group of wolves.

Hoke's taunts worked. The enraged beast lunged rabidly at him, but Hoke slimply stepped forward and to the slide as he sliced the greatsword across the direwolf's throat.

As the wolf slices Olinn's skin, he feels an emotion he had only heard about before; RAGE!

Infuriated, Olinn fires off another arrow at the remaining dire wolf from the big-megablocks, conveniently-placed rock.

Olinn, huffing and puffing after his first battle, looks down at the scratch marks on his chest. Yeauch.

Then, remembering his duty as party leader, keeps one venom to himself and gives the other to Erdathcath, gives Tomas one of the Daggers, and gives a bone each to Hoke and Sylph.

"...I-Is that fair? I-I've never had to make decisions like this before... :blush: "

Olinn also applies his venom to his arrows, in preparation for the next battle.
