Hinckley Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Everyone is standing around staring when the old monk appears again. "Why do you keep bugging us?" Somebody asks. "You are in grave danger," the old monk tells them, "You must work together to piece the clues together and save your souls before the demon rises again!" "Look, a boat!" Someone shouts. "Try to focus, please." The monk asks politely, yet slightly annoyed. "We need clues!" Someone cries, "How are we supposed to solve this without clues?" "You're getting clues!" The monk answers, "Have you tried to piece them together?" "Well, I'm not getting clues," Another person says, "But I'm sure the people who are, are working diligently on the mystery." "Are you sure?" The monk asks. "Yes I'm sure," is the answer, "I just said I was sure. Why would you ask if I'm sure after I just said I'm sure? Weirdo." "What's my objective?" Someone asks. "To find out who killed the other members of the tour!" The monk says. "How are we supposed to reach our objective by building LEGO sets?" Somebody asks. "It's the clues! You need the clues!" The monk answers, exasperated. "But the challenges are hard!" Someone says. "I don't have any bricks." Says another. "Bricks?" The old monk asks. "Yeah, bricks." Someone tells him, "How are we supposed to build something without bricks?" "Build something?" The old monk looks confused. "Is there a megablocking echo in here?" Someone rolls their eyes at the old decrepit crazy man. "How are we supposed to reach our objective?" Someone asks. "Perhaps that's part of the mystery." The monk tells them. "I can guarantee you there is no lack of clues to help you reach the objective. Start working on it." "Work?" Someone asks, "But we signed up to play a game. We don't want to work! Won't somebody else do the work and I can just drop in every once in a while and look at a clue and vote or something?" "In Bob's games, there are murders and stuff. Things actually happen." Someone complains. The monk just stares at them as he fades away once again... Cast of characters: Sylvia Berent played by Zepher Chris Owen played by Tamamono Siegourney Harcourt played by Siegfried Richard Sexton played by Mrlegoninja Donna Falcon played by Dannylonglegs William Falcon played by WhiteFang Diesel Nolan played by Dragonator Penny Maltese played by Peppermint_M Sheldon Wills played by Shadows Samantha Cole played by Rufus Tony Peck played by Bob_ Ingrid Peck played by iamded Fred Thomas played by CorneliusMurdock Diana Mantino played by Fugazi Reserves MaskedBuilder KielDaMan Scouty The Legonater *Thanks so much to VolcanicPanik, CallMePieOrDie, Swils, JediAnakin, Scorpiox, K-Nut, Darth Nihilius, The Legonater and Flipz for showing interest in the game. I wish there was more room. Please sign up again for future games! * Rules for Game play No anagrams. Each chapter you will be faced with a LEGO building challenge. The first part will be a group effort to find a certain amount of LEGO pieces. The second part will be an individual effort to figure out what model the pieces create. The winner of the individual effort will be judged by how much time is taken to solve the puzzle. When you begin to solve the puzzle post "Puzzle start" in the thread. When you solve it, post "puzzle solved" and PM me a picture of the finished product. The winner of the challenge will select three people. The three people selected will nominate two people to receive clues about the identity of who killed the other members of the tour group (the deaths from Red Moon 1). You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this:"I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room".Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example:"I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet."It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalised statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. Dynamic Actions: Actions you wish to carry out without all of the other players' knowledge can be PMed to the game host, Hinckley. You may or may not be allowed to do what you request. Please use only your role PM to communicate with the host. (This wasn't in here before, Dannylonglegs, sorry. ) Host response time: Please be patient. You may bring the story to a point where you need the host to further game play. I will be on top of this game as much as possible. Please be patient with me between chapters as well. Stagnant game: If you find yourself stuck in the group challenge portion, it is because you need to find a clue or you've missed something. Don’t argue with the game host. You’ll be there until everything that needs to be discovered has been discovered. Each game day will last 72 hours with three portions, each lasting 24 hours. The team challenge will last 24 hours. The individual portion will last 24 hours. And the nomination process will last 24 hours. If the group fails to find all of the pieces in the first 24 hours, then the chapter will end with no further clues given. You cannot edit your posts. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the humorous death of your character.
iamded Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Alright, we're back, let's do this! ... I would like to step onto the boat. Really though. What do we have? Black fabric, dark blue fabric, puddles of blood. Ominous. I would like to search the boat. It's pretty small, I think I'm capable of searching it through. Maybe this boat has some delightful clues for us. Also, I advise anyone who hasn't come forth with their clues yet to do so. We are all in grave danger after all, and the only way to get through this is to work together. There's only one bad guy, and plenty more of us. Let's do this.
Hinckley Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 * The boat easily holds Ingrid's weight. As she searches the votes, she finds some oars. Those are probably good for rowing the boat! *
Fugazi Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 * The boat easily holds Ingrid's weight. As she searches the votes, she finds some oars. Those are probably good for rowing the boat! * Oh Ingrid, while you're in the boat maybe you should go investigate those pillars in the middle of the pool, who knows what we could find! Actually, maybe we can both fit in the boat -- I'll do the rowing and you can check out the pillars!
Shadows Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 * The boat easily holds Ingrid's weight. As she searches the votes, she finds some oars. Those are probably good for rowing the boat! * *points at Ingrid and makes a dirty oar joke* What? Didn't the old man just say that someone else would do the work? I just popped in to vote. Or something. Dammit, I'll go back over what he said and try to figure something out. Isn't it about time we got some clues?
Dragonator Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I'm coming in too! Diesel jumps in the boat. Boats are fun.
Siegfried Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Boat? That reminds me of my adventures in Peru! *Jumps in and looks for anagram clues* I love my life!
Bob Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 If there's room in the boat, I'll jump in too. Maybe we can get out of this damn room that we've been in for like, five chapters now.
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I don't think sailing a boat around an enclosed pond is going to get you out of the room. Besides the boat is there anything different than before?
Peppermint_M Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 You'll all sink the boat. Maybe if you do we might attract another shark full of clues!
Tamamono Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Of course, one person jumps in the boat and then everybody has to jump in the boat! Oh Ingrid, while you're in the boat maybe you should go investigate those pillars in the middle of the pool, who knows what we could find! Actually, maybe we can both fit in the boat -- I'll do the rowing and you can check out the pillars! Oh, good point, Diana! We haven't been to the pillars yet, and why else would the smartass voice give us a boat if he didn't want us to sail in it! Let us know what you find!
Hinckley Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 *Many of the remaining tour members climb into the boat and paddle around for a while. They come up with the idea to check the columns and find that each one contains a secret compartment containig LEGO bricks.* Chapter 5 Challenge You have 24 hours to complete this challenge. To participate you must post "Challenge: begin" in this thread when you start trying to build (or figure out) the creation. Do not post "Challenge: complete" when you are finished. Do not post in this thread for 15 minutes following your "Challenge: begin" post. If you do, your entry will be disqualified. PM the picture to me, do not post it in this thread. If it is incorrect, you won't know until I can respond, so make sure you get your complete time recorded by PM. Whoever has the fastest time will be declared the winner. You are on the honor code. This method is to be fair to all time zones so do not cheat!
iamded Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Yes, a sailing we did go! And look at that, more bricks spurring an onset of "Challenge Begin"s!
Shadows Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I'm not starting a challenge this many hours after it was revealed, good luck to those who did, and hopefully some of you will see what the old man was clearly trying to say ... SHARE THE DAMN CLUES. We're only looking for one baddie, it can't hurt to reveal everything so we can piece it together and see who tries to mislead us at the same time.

SHARE THE DAMN CLUES. We're only looking for one baddie, it can't hurt to reveal everything so we can piece it together and see who tries to mislead us at the same time. I think no one except my wife, trusts old William too... It's not hard to sniff out that only bastard. Oops, I said it.

Wimp. The old man is also clearly trying to say that everyone should be participating. Wasn't there something about if 11 people participated, there would be a clue given to all? Didn't the old man say that at the end of Chapter Four? :hmpf: *
Hinckley Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 The challenge is now over. The winners will be announced shortly. Donna Falcon (Dannylonglegs), Samantha Cole (Rufus) and Diana Mantino (Fugazi) should now discuss which three tour members should receive clues today. Discussion should take place in this thread only. There were not 11 participants in today's challenge. There were 8, only 6 of which completed the challenge. So, you will not be receiving a clue for everyone. However, the crazy old monk should be by in about 8 hours to issue another challenge to you...
Bob Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I wish the people that have clues would share the clues instead of keeping them for themselves.
