Everybody, I feel I must share something with you. Most of you here may have already heard about this. It’s about The Clone Wars moving from Cartoon Network, to Disney channel (or Disney XD, I guess). Yes, according to these links; http://comicbook.com...artoon-network/ and http://comicbook.com...d-to-disney-xd/ it might.

Ok, why should this concern us, you say? Well, we all know how TCW, while animated and intended for the younger audience also, tends to show some of those darker episodes. We’ve seen this, as the series progressed from one season to the other, it gets a little darker and it makes sense, given that they are nearing Revenge of the Sith. We, who are Star Wars fans, don’t give if they get darker or not. So, I guess George Lucas and Dave Filoni are not stupid, and once in a while they show arcs that are meant for the younger audience. (Young Jedi arc, Droid arc, S04E05, 06, etc.) However, with arcs such as the current one, I don’t know how the show will survive on the Disney channel (providing ofcourse it’d be the Disney channel that will follow with TCW...). Now, you might ask why not? [=The Clone Wars not surviving]

I’ve seen what happened to a show, a great animated show much like The Clone Wars. It’s about Tron Uprising. Ok, I’m not going into this show right now as this forum is for The Clone Wars. But I must use it as a reference for simplicity’s sake. I’m a big fan of both Tron and Star Wars and I love that they continued their stories through Tron Uprising (from now on I’ll refer to it as “TU”) and The Clone Wars respectively. As I’ve mentioned before, TU is a great animated show, just like the TCW, intended for both young and , well, less young. ^^ There are fight scenes of course, and there are those plot based episodes. Now there is the problem. Disney feels that this show doesn’t attract the younger audience too much and over the course of last year, has changed its timeslot at least three times (The same Season!!!) without some Ad, or notice, or whatever! The viewer’s rating began dropping considerably since. You can see for yourselves; http://en.wikipedia..../Tron:_Uprising.

When you look at the above link, you’ll see how many times they’ve paused and continued the series. You won’t see the change in time, but you’ll notice how they went from Friday, to Thursday, to Friday again and finally to Sunday (at 12:00 A.M.!!!!!!!!!!, WTF!!??) Some viewers of the show claimed that Disney did all that on purpose (knowing that the ratings will drop, I mean c’mon!! At 12 AM!!?) to kill the show because they were not happy with it (being a Cartoon that attracts adults rather than some toddlers). And Voila!! Till now, not certain, but 90%- that the show won’t get a second season (after a cliffhanger ending…)

Why all this in the Star Wars The Clone Wars Season Five discussion board? Well, first of all, I apologize for using another topic or show in this forum. I had to do it; purely as a reference for what might be the destiny of The Clone Wars if it were to be transmitted on The Disney channel. Secondly, there is not much that can be done, we are just spectators. I just wanted you to know this and ready yourselves for the worst. I’m not saying that the same thing has to happen to The Clone Wars, but just what might happen if the show continues with darker episode (which we all prefer around here), should it be transmitted on a Channel that’s aim it is, to draw younger audience (ages 2 to 14 to be exact). I don’t see myself getting up at 12:00 A.M., to watch Anakin riding in the snow fending off Embo!!!

So, as much as I hate to say this, but I hope Dave Filoni and co. continue making some of those less darker episodes for the next Season, so the show can survive. We don’t know much about Season Six yet, but it’ll be a good season. As far as I know, Deathwatch/Darth Maul arc and Ahsoka/Ventress arc are okay for this season. Season Five is safe! Safe on Cartoon Network (as long as they keep censoring decap scenes  ). “Live well and prosper” Clone Wars, oops, wrong line taken from the wrong movie… :innocent2:

Last thing: I just realized a dumb (if I may) move on TCW’s producers’ side!!! They knew that they’d have to broadcast on a different channel, why did they push the Clovis arc to Season Six!? Bold move I must say. They should’ve kept Clovis in Season Five, and pushed D-Squad to Season Six, now THAT arc would have been ideal for Disney!!!! (except for Gregor’s small debute and the Big Bang in Point of No Return)

I think that TCW is way too important to Lucas to leave it to Disney to decide whether or the show is continued and ended as planned. Rather, I think this issue was clarified through the negotiating process.

I further think that Disney has the long-term aspect of the frenchise in mind and doesn't care much about TCW.

I think rights now Disney wants and needs TCW to keep generating interest in the property, at least until noise about the new movies hits. With the cancelation of the 3d remakes, TCW is the centerpiece for going forward in he near term. The fact that it is going to be used as a centerpiece on Disney XD is also of interest. That channel is mainly targeted at the upper range Of Disney's age spread. Junior and high school kids, and college kids creeping on Selena Gomez, etc. so they're not trying to lump it in with the more kiddy oriented shows. It remains to be seen how well some of TCWs darker content will mesh with Disneys sensibilities.

Seems like an interesting new arc. So far the story of this new arc looks promising and packed with action.

At http://starwars.com I've just seen two new preview clips of The Lawless. It looks good so far. Nice to see Obi-Wan wearing the bounty hunter outfit he wore in season 4 (as Rako Hardeen). Good way to aquire the Mandalorian armor too. I would have thought these warriors were a tiny bit smarter.

The Lawless wasn't the best episode ever made (like most people were expecting) but it was still good. The Sidious duel should have been a little longer for sure. The deaths in this episode were actually quite sad too. And the cliffhanger... it's going to be hard to wait to see it all resolved!

Fantastic episode. Easily the best of the season. If I had one complaint about this storyarc its that some parts felt a little rushed, which really shouldn't have been an issue if the show hadn't wasted a month on the adventures of an obnoxious talking toad.

I guess with Satine gone there's even less chance of a Lego minifigure now. :cry_sad:

They have made figures of dead characters after those characters died in the show, like Even Piell and Nahdar Vebb. I don't think seeing Satine is that likely, but her being dead doesn't really make is LESS likely, it seems to me.

I had higher hopes for Maul's return. Filoni announced him to be pretty "cunning". Maybe he was, but he didn't fully convinced me. And I was pretty disappointed that he submitted to Sidious so easily (wimp!). Retrospektively, it makes his "We are the true lords of the Sith" sounding pretty ridiculous. All in all, the arc wasn't bad, but it wasn't good, either.

Palpatine is a pretty scary guy, he could've killed both Maul and Savage upon entering the room.

To me Maul's return was interesting and it brought a lot of attention to the show. I too was disappointed in the way he submitted to Sidious. In all reality, he probably knew he had a small chance with Savage at his side and once Sidious killed him, he knew his powers were no match for that of his Master. I wish there would've been another story arc involving Maul and Savage, one showing the two of them face the Jedi.

The true scope of Palpatine's power is a mystery. He is extremely powerful in the ways of the force and we were lucky that he chose to wield his lightsabers in battle.

Maybe he is. The point is that if you are right, Maul certainly knows that. He should have equally known that begging for mercy is futile. And he could have recognized that if Sidious did not kill him immediately, there's a reason for that. Recognizing that would have been an opportunity to portray Maul which, to me, were more in line or consistent with his character as portrayed in previous episodes.

I know it may sound weird to see Maul begging for mercy, but like General Magma said Sidious is a scary guy. Sidious trained Maul and tortured him throughout his youth and made him both fear him and respect him. In fact, he still respects Sidious because he bowed before him right when he entered the room. You could also see the fear and worry in Maul's eyes as he spoke to him. Sidious also sort of "broke" Maul after he killed Savage. And to top it all off, Maul was left defenseless and had nothing else to do. He couldn't fight Sidious anymore, he had been beaten. The main point is that he always had some fear for Sidious and he still does, which was evident in the episode.

Okay, so we got a reuse of the line from Episode IV "...a presence I've not felt since..." but I was very surprised they didn't reuse "help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope" despite even having the hologram projection. Curious.

So, will we see red Mandalorians in Lego?

There were several references, all from the EP IV Death Star scene: the quote you mentioned, the mandalorian guard entering Obi Wan's ship, getting overwhelmed and robbed off his armor, Obi Wan entering the cell of Satine. Maybe there were others as well; I don't remember.

Except in Satine's case she already had 3 chances to appear in a Mandalorian themed set. Unless she's coming in the Starhopper or Lego releases the Mandalorian Shuttle shown in the picture with all the prototype models, she's missed her chance at getting a minifigure. Any other Mandalorian sets Lego releases will likely be based on future episodes set after her death.

The upcoming Mandalorian Speeder comes with Darth Maul and 2 Mandalorian Super Commandos. I assume they are the red ones. :classic:

Yes I forgot about that

Looks very likely.

Seeing Palpatine in action makes his death in episode VI seem a little too easy? I know in EU books he is still alive, but still...

Keep in mind that he is much older and hideously deformed at that point.
