Well that episode did seriously kick some megablocks (for once). I hope there will be some consequences for Obi Wan for going against the Council - although I doubt it. Also good to see a couple of recurring characters bite the dust - let's hope they stay dead unlike Maul who's resurrection remains an annoyance to me - much along the lines of a lot of "dead" comic characters that get mysteriously bought back to life once their creators run out of new ideas.

Days Of Our Lives...

I don't think Obi Wan went against the council, he just wasn't allowed to have any support of troops etc, so it wasn't a Republic thing or official mission/business. A bit like going to buy some Lego during your lunch hour perhaps, not a trip you can claim travel expenses for...

In the episode guide of Lawless, Filoni revealed that “one of the early mandates of George in the Clone Wars was that he really wanted to kill off a lot of the characters that weren’t in the movies.”,

which leads me to think that this season may really be the last for Ahsoka and Rex, or at least Rex - although the next arc is mainly focused on Ahsoka and it seems quite likely to have Ahsoka face her last hour in there. Plus, they're both on the list, after all.

I had higher hopes for Maul's return. Filoni announced him to be pretty "cunning". Maybe he was, but he didn't fully convinced me. And I was pretty disappointed that he submitted to Sidious so easily (wimp!). Retrospektively, it makes his "We are the true lords of the Sith" sounding pretty ridiculous. All in all, the arc wasn't bad, but it wasn't good, either.

I agree. While I do think that Maul has proven how cunning he is by taking over Mandalore, I really disliked the part about him begging for mercy. He may have respect and perhaps even fear for Palpatine, but if he was really a true Sith as he was making himself out to be, he should have at least taken his defeat like a man. :sadnew:

Okay, so we got a reuse of the line from Episode IV "...a presence I've not felt since..." but I was very surprised they didn't reuse "help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope" despite even having the hologram projection. Curious.

Yeah, I was surprised by that as well. They also could have had Obi-Wan say: "You don't need to see an authorization code" instead of knocking the Mandalorian out. I guess they didn't want to overload the episode with lame movie references.

The upcoming Mandalorian Speeder comes with Darth Maul and 2 Mandalorian Super Commandos. I assume they are the red ones. :classic:

Yes, they are. We probably wont get the captain with the horns, but the regular kind will be great to have nonetheless.

Hey, has anyone else noticed Yoda in Lawless? He looks better animated (and kinda older)

He has had that redesign since the beginning of the season.

As for character deaths, somehow I don't think Ahsoka is going to die in this next arc. They wouldn't make a whole 4-part arc about her trying to prove her innocence just to have her die in the end. She may end up going into hiding or something, but I don't think she will die. Rex and Asajj are much more likely to die during this arc in my opinion, but we'll see.

Lawless was one of my favorite episodes of this season. Incredibley tragic, but I think it was pulled off well.

I'd love to see more episodes where Obi-Wan is affected by this tragedy. He is strong in the way he deals with these kind of things, but I'd love to see an episode or two where he almost loses it completely. I'm hoping he gets to fight Maul one last time before the show ends.

i agree maybe this time he kills him for good.

If he does, I wonder how many pieces he's going to cut him into this time to make sure that he doesn't return again.

Just got caught up on the show, and I must say that this has been the best storytelling of the season so far. It has had the most development of previous characters who have been in the show for a long time, and had one of the saddest moments, if not THE saddest moment, of the show so far. And Sidious's intervention of the affairs of Maul was the best the show has gotten in a long time. It really showcased his sheer power in the Force and prowess with a lightsaber.

I'm most interested in seeing the stories of Maul and Bo Katan develop.

Also, if Nightsisters, Monster and Witches of the mist (Season Three), Brothers and Revenge (Season Four), and Revival, Eminence, Shades of Reason and Lawless (Season Five) were all edited together into one long film, it would showcase the best storytelling and character development this show has ever offered its audiences.

Not sure. I think the relation between Maul and Ventress will become an issue; if I remember correctly, Filoni mentioned some kind of interest of Maul in Ventress. If this will be the case, you have to add some more episodes to the list. But I think that such a film couldn't cope with Ventress' development appropriately.

New trailer for the season finale:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAOvptoMsWM&feature=youtu.be]

My thoughts... looks great so far,

but it really does look like Ahsoka is marked for death after all... "Ready he is, to teach an apprentice. To let go of his pupil, a greater challenge, it will be."

Later in the trailer, Anakin is seen using her green lightsaber with anger in his eyes,

and Ventress seems to have a group of nightsisters with her... will she be the killer? If so, Anakin will probably end up killing her in turn.

Yeah, but how much of Lucas's mandate remains in place at this point? With rumors of Disney XD wanting TCW season 6, and today's reports of George Lucas opting to sell his $2 billion in Disney Stock, GL's orders to clean up the extra characters before the start of his classic movies may not be in Disney's interests. Plus I don't think it is lost in Disney that many of the Internet lists of "what characters should be seen in future movies" include a few prominent TCW favorites.

I do not believe that Ventress will kill Ahsoka. If I remember correctly, Ventress will support her in her quest. I do not believe that Anakin will kill Ahsoka, either. I find it more probable that either Anakin will feel responsible for Ahsoka's death, which would explain why he'll be so eager to save Padme, or that she'll get killed by a Jedi on behalf of the Jedi council. The future role of Maul and Sidious' intentions regarding him are still unclear, and so is the relation between Maul and Ventress. Anyway, I'm curious what's Ahsoka after, and what she's about to reveal. And, of course, what the "one thing" is that was not shown in any trailer so far, but mentioned by Filoni. I'd like to wait 6 weeks to see all episodes together, but I believe I'm way too curious :classic:

IF Ahsoka dies in this arc (and I personally think that this is a very big IF), what I will be most interested in seeing is how much of an affect this has on Anakin. What is certain is that he will seek revenge on Ahsoka's killer and probably kill him/her, but apart from that it is hard to predict what will happen. Well, I'll be sure to keep in touch with this arc to see how it plays out and see if Ahsoka finally meets her end or not.

Sabotage was by far my favorite episode of this season so far. It was different, entertaining, and the return of Anakin and Ahsoka was good, after them not being present in a while. Based off the season finale, next season will probably be the end, because of how close to Sith it looked. It makes me wonder how it will do on Disney XD, seeing as I'm sure it'll have a rather dark undertone. Can't wait for next weeks episode

Mood-wise, "Sabotage" was unique. To me, the feeling of darkness and an unknown threat was mediated perfectly and much better than in AotC or RotS. It certainly was one of my favorite episodes of the whole show so far.

I haven't followed season 5 at all but the trailer for the season finale has drawn me back in. I better start at the beginning of the season. Perhaps it's been mentioned before but if you look at 1:03 of the trailer, you can see Master Plo in a new vehicle which looks like a mash-up of a Republic Gunship and a Tie fighter. Whatever it is, it would make a great Lego set....

What's with all those names?

"The Jedi Who Knew Too Much"

"To Catch A Jedi"

"The Wrong Jedi"

I know they're based on old film titles (Alfred Hitchcock), but something still seems a bit odd about 'em.

I'm not sure what you mean; "Sabotage" is an old Hitchcockfilm as well btw. (I wan't aware of that). The only thing I can see is that they are not in the right chronological order; rather, it should be "Sabotage", "To Catch A Jedi", "The Jedi Who Knew Too Much", and "The Wrong Jedi". Otherwise, I cannot see what could be wrong about them.

This week's episode shows us a brand new clone trooper. The clone trooper has red all over his helmet and his armor.

It's neither a commander, nor is he brand new. Rather, it's Commander Fox, who was already shown in his phase II armor in a past season.

Anyway, this second episode was great as well!
