Once again, I think this belongs in the Pirate MOC forum. It's also best to post the individual MOCs on the PiratePirateMoc sub-forum. Also, please check other threads to see if any moc has been already mentoned, the one with brickfest picture already has been mentioned in the Lame Pirate SHowing at Brickfest thread.

Imperial Scouts,

Please make sure to emphasise the Pirate MOC forum, the MOC forum is entirely different.

Kahuka,

Please, please, please just....

Oh, I give up. Phes, you handle this.

Yes i agree it should be deleted.

Yes i agree it should be deleted.

I think I've salvaged it! The second picture Kahuka posted hasn't been discussed as far as I can remember so we'll use this thread to do so. I think Kahuka understands that this thread was terribly misconceived and agree that I needed to savagely edit his first post.

But for those who've just joined us, no need to scroll back up because here's what we're discussing:

Lets discuss it here.

I love this baseplate. These buildings integrate very will with it.

One day I want to buy one to make something similar like this MOC.

The colors combine very well and I like the overall look.

I would like to know if there is something inside of the buildings and if they can be opened.

It looks however like there is a parrot plague on this island :-)

Yes, Bonaparte lets discuss!

I like this baseplate too, I think this is the second Pirate related MOC I've seen using it and it appears to work very well in them.

Which set was it originally from? I can remember seeing in a catalogue within the past few years but I can't remember exactly which theme and which year.

You're making me seriously regret selling this baseplate on BL. :'-(

The design with those windows is great; I like all the yellow on the building.

Selling such a fine baseplate? Dear Governor, WHY?

Well, I once sold a Skull's Eye Schooner and a Black Seas Barracuda on BL :-$ .

What's it say on that red and yellow sign on the left hand (our left) side of the MOC?

The first line looks like "Frank Ella" and the second starts with "Beaver" but is interupted by the mini-figure. Is that the name of its creator?

The MOC is mine (Frank Filz, the red brick indicates Beaverton OR [uSA]). Thanks for the comments.

The baseplate is from 7047 Coast Watch HQ.

I was inspired by This MOC.

The buildings do open up and are detailed inside. Each floor of the light house comes off like a stack of pancakes (and building this, I again wish for a tile that matches the angle of the castle wall corners).

I need to take some pictures of the insides.

BrickFest PDX 2007 has recently been announced. There is interest in more pirates!

Welcome to Eurobricks Mr. Filz, I like your MOC and I look forwand too seeing more pictures of it. Although I do think it looks a little too modern for pirates, it would be great for town/city.

And that creator of that MOC you were inspired by is a member of this website, and you can see his thread here.

Thanks my helpful talk show host friend X-D (the line above made me think of your title...)

I have always wanted to build something on that baseplate (couldn't bring myself to buy the overpriced coastguard HQ with bley it came in though). Mabe a BL order could solve this...

Back to the MOC: I like the yellow (and normally I don't). The flag and light are nice and the height is nicely scaled...

God Bless,

Nathan

The yellow ended up working quite well. I think the grey bands help. I agree, the height worked out really nice. When I set it on the table in my living room with a pirate display, it just looked so perfect.

The low grey building is a small tavern.

Hmm, not sure about the too new for Pirates. Pirates were active in the Carribean at least up to 1833per this timeline. And here is a lighthouse from 1792 in Virginia.

Yeah who knows with websites... whatever the time line is though, the moc looks good! I guess the tourist with the video camera takes me out of pirate mode more than the fact that it is a light house.

Whatever the case, good job Filz, very well done. I like the windows and size the light house, and I know that sometimes, you just have to use yellow... err... gold for a creation. I think it is perfect here.

I meant to mention the tourists with the video camera...

They are Colin and Wanda of minifig world tour fame - well, actually their clones. They go to every brick con with me (at NWBrickCon they were touring my new Scorpion Castle).

I enjoy putting in anachronisms. Inside the tavern, we have Yoda levitating so he can pay (for his fruit juice...) and Princess Leia in Jabba the Hutt slave garb dancing.

Oh, and minor correction - that's Filz not Fitz...

When I take more detailed pictures, you'll note the light house tender carrying an oil can for topping of the burner for the light...

In additiona to the parrot infestation, there's also a monkey infestation.

My bad... get a normal name would ya!

:-P

Well it is nice that you brought the tourist with you, not slap them in irons and make them walk the plank!

A lighthouse! I never saw a good lighthouse MOC until now!

Frank Filz, I believe I saw your pirate page before, you have a great collection of ship links on your site! Too bad the halve of them doesn't exist enymore.....
