badboytje88 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) Saburo was using his nights for his training. He was an expert in katana fighter. But every member of the Yakuza family was an expert at fighting with a katana. He was training with his nunchucks. He thought that if he had a different weapon than the killer he would have an advantage over the killer. He was wrong. Suddenly someone switched the light switch. 'Oh hi Red Ninja', Stephanie said. And she turned off the lights again. I'll go and get Lloyd so we can clean up the mess. But when she returned there was no mess. There was no blood. And most importantly, there was no body... You must post in every day thread. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the hosts using your character information PM. No other communication with the hosts will be accepted or acknowledged. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. Plus losing your right to vote for that day. Brickdoctor Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Well, the obvious possibility is that that was the Agent's killer. (unless, of course, Black Ninja is the Agent killer and the Mutineers haven't been able to kill for one reason or another) As for the disappearing body, my only experience with that, personally, is someone who comes back to life later, which isn't a decidedly Scummy or Townie role, I believe. As for suspects, I'll get right to the point and say that if we didn't find a Scum through actions last Night, I still want Lizzy lynched. I don't think I need to explain that again.
K-Nut Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Hmm, it's discomforting that we have no evidence on Saburo's allegiance, and that his corpse has disappeared as well. But we did get a mutineer yesterday! We are certainly on the right track to uncover the scum of our family. Looking at Norio's list from yesterday: Akio (Rumble Strike) Noriko (Eskallon) Saburo (Masked Builder) (Missing/Dead) Lizzy (Capt. Redblade) Maniko (Swils) Daisuke (K-nut) I know that I, for one, am Yakuza. I also recall Akio speaking up a bit, so he's a maybe for scum. But the rest of that list is a reasonable guess for being scum as of now, from what I recall from yesterday.
MetroiD Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Great. Has Stephanie now stolen Lloyd Jr's teddy bear? We should really try and get her out of here already. And that pizza guy, if he's still around, that is. We're not only losing Family members, but also crucial evidence as well... Oh well. One Mutineer less, I hope!
Professor Flitwick Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 *sniff* Well, does the Red Ninja belong to the green mutineers, the purple secret agents, a pink neutral, the blue masons, or the orange Yakuza? If they belong to either of the former two, we know they have at least two members. One killer, and one janitor. I know that I, for one, am Yakuza. I also recall Akio speaking up a bit, so he's a maybe for scum. But the rest of that list is a reasonable guess for being scum as of now, from what I recall from yesterday. *sniff* Not surprising that someone talks up after their allegiance is questioned.
Rick Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Another killer?! And we don't even know whether he killed one of us or not. Saburo wasn't the most outspoken member of our family. At least the investigation results have proven reliable again and we lynched another Mutineer. *sniff* Well, does the Red Ninja belong to the green mutineers, the purple secret agents, a pink neutral, the blue masons, or the orange Yakuza? If they belong to either of the former two, we know they have at least two members. One killer, and one janitor. It may well be that all victims of the red ninja killer disappear mysteriously (and that it isn't necessarily a two man job). As to it's alignment, I don't have a clue. Don't tell me we're looking at yet another faction or a third-party killer here.
MetroiD Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I really wouldn't base my vote today solely on who's been talkative and who hasn't. For all I know, you could all just be doing your best to save your hides by beating me to the title of Grand Rantmaster. Either way, it will take something pretty substantial to convince us all that some of you are really loyal members of the Family. Remember, there's a difference between yakking and actually contributing. As to the red ninja - we can only hope and pray that someone saw something helpful last night. Otherwise it looks as though we're in a pretty messy situation, with new alignments being revealed almost on a nightly basis now. And my old mind is still finding it hard to get used to the fact that there'd be any people belonging to this Family who'd wish to see its demise...
Brickdoctor Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 one janitor. Oh, right, that's what it's called. I'd forgotten that and couldn't find it searching books without the name.

Not that I don't believe you necessarily, but it doesn't seem like a very solid defense/case on its own. Or perhaps your loyalty to the family has been cleared by an inner circle, but not announced, and I'm just speaking out of ignorance . The appearance of a newly garbed ninja, coupled with the simultaneous disappearance of the body, is disturbing. Does it represent a joining of the Mutineers with the Agents in a last-ditch effort to take down our family? It could also be a one-shot job, perhaps used in conjunction with a limited use of the supposed janitor role. But then there's still the question of what happened to the two killers we've come to know and love? Both going inactive on the same night, seems a bit odd. Ah, I seem to have missed a final thought I'd had: Could we have actually managed to lynch the mutineer's killer yesterday? It doesn't explain away the MIA status of the white ninja, nor the appearance of the red and disappearance of the body, but I'm just thinking out loud.
CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Setsuku - Played by Fhomess - Lynced on day 6 - Mutineer Any reason the color here is orange? I think Chieko was the mutineer killer, and that this janitor/kill thing is either a replacement for it, or a one-shot. On the bright side, I'm pretty positive there can't be more than two scum left, save for any conversions.
Bob Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I'm willing to believe that we've killed all the Mutineers, since this red ninja is different from the black ninja and the white ninja. Perhaps the Special Agents have gained the ability to kill, since they've lost so many members and are getting desperate. Maybe we're dealing with a new neutral character. I do agree, the idea of a Janitor is completely plausible, but we haven't yet seen this action. Perhaps the red killer can kill and be a janitor at the same time? Maybe the Janitor is someone else and there are two secret agents left. I'm not sure, I'll have to think about this. We can always wait for Norio to come with his results.
def Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Setsuku - Played by Fhomess - Lynced on day 6 - Mutineer Oh no! An orange mutineer! We're screwed!
swils Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 From yesterday, No. There is a logical explanation for a scum result on me, but you will likely lynch me for it regardless. The fact is, that I am a miller. I think if you look back through my contributions, you'll see that I have been decidedly pro-Yakuza, however I have been wary to take on a larger contribution due to the fact that were I to be investigated, I would be outed as scum even though I am not. Norio now has his scum result on me, and as such I expect that most everyone will go through with the lynch. As a miller, I have no ability beyond my own reasoning with which to catch mutineers and agents, leaving me with very little defense in light of a scum investigation result. If I were scum, I would most certainly claim something more powerful and verifiable. At this point, it's unlikely either rogue faction has goons remaining, so I would have something to claim which I could actually show my results from. Look through the day threads and you'll see that this is all consistent with all that has happened to this point. It's possible that Setsuku really was a miller, as she claimed, but unbeknownst to her, her true alignment would remain obscured in death, thus the orange mutineer. Or the dragon snorted some Tang powder. I hear it's the new cool thing to do

Rumble Strike Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I know I will still be on the suspect list, which is fine because a lot of you are still on mine. Like Hanako said herself yesterday, it's hard to be "usefully" active when you are not privy to any inside info. However the least I can do is speculate on this new red ninja. I do believe Cheiko was the Mutineer killer, so I'm not sure who this one is. Have the Secret Agent's got a one-shot kill? Saburo hasn't been very proactive for the Town, so to be honest it wouldn't surprise me if it was a Yakuza hit in some way.
def Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 My hypothesis is this: We have taken out the Mutineer's killer, likely it had been Chieko, since she had claimed to be blocked night two and there was no Yakuza death that night. Furthermore, Setsuko was likely the blocker, since no one was blocked that I know of (and please let me know if you know differently ). The above statements are, in my humble estimation, 80% likely to be true. As for the Red Ninja, this is all conjecture. If we assume that five was the magic number, and I think that was the case, there is likely one Mutineer and one Agent left. The Mutineer's kill shifted along to the remaining scumbum, and I wonder if the two haven't just intertwined. The resulting killer is no longer a black ninja, but an evil, cursed red ninja. Look at those eyes! That's just a crazy hypothesis though. Unfortunately, the investigator didn't track a scumbum last night, but at least the confirmed family is getting bigger While Emi wants to take out Lizzy, with a passion, I want to take out Emi. I find her whole manner perplexing. This is based entirely on her public behavior, so if the lynch is between the two, it's up to you folk to make the call. I already have Tadao's innocent blood on my hands, and will not rally for this lynch in case I'm wrong. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And Daisuke, you messed up my list: Hmm, it's discomforting that we have no evidence on Saburo's allegiance, and that his corpse has disappeared as well. But we did get a mutineer yesterday! We are certainly on the right track to uncover the scum of our family. Looking at Norio's list from yesterday: Saburo was not the one, it was Emi. If you follow the rest of the day, you'll see that I fixed up that typo. I firmly believe Saburo was town, and think this janitor business is simply a way to distract people from the facts.

Redblade Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Unfortunately, the investigator didn't track a scumbum last night, but at least the confirmed family is getting bigger While Emi wants to take out Lizzy, with a passion, I want to take out Emi. We don't want a repeat of Day Two. I think it's unlikely that there are any more Mutineers left, so the Saburo-kill was probably a Yakuza-engineered effort or the Secret Agents got lucky and have acquired a kill action. Since there's been some speculation that they can convert people, my guess is that they managed to convert the vigilante, if he/she is still around. As for the janitor thing, I'm not sure. A one-shot, perhaps?

Is that because there were two kills? The level of hypothesizing here is moving you up in the likely scum rankings
Bob Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Come on, guys. We're not going to win if we stay silent! Doesn't anyone have anything to say? Especially the quieter townies? I notice that Noriko and Shiro haven't even said a word. They're not even helping us. It seems to me like they're just laying low and trying to coast through to an easy victory.
Eskallon Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 It looks to me like were on the right path, the lack of the black samurai was nice, and hopefully meant we took him out. Come on, guys. Bob Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I'll wait before I jump on any bandwagon, I want to see some other votes.
Rumble Strike Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Indeed Akira, it is a shame that the family are so quiet. We must be very close to ridding ourselves of any Mutineer or Secret Agent influence, and it is disheartening to see so little discussion that could help us identify the remainder of our foes. I have to admit, I do admire Emi's tenacity. She will just not give up on Lizzy, and has enough courage in her convictions to cast the first vote. Do we think that a Scum would do that? I note that Norio does not seem so keen to go after Emi today. I think on balance Emi has done more during the day to help the Yakuza cause than a few of the more silent people, myself included. This is why, with only Norio's (admittedly usually top-notch) instinct to go on, I am loathe to vote for her. Lizzy, on the other hand, I think is vulnerable today. It will be interesting to see how the voting stacks up. I have given my reasons before on why I think voting for Lizzy is worthwhile, so for now, with plenty of time to recast votes if needed, I will: Vote: Lizzy (Capt. Redblade) I am also going to put an idea out for discussion, but first, does everyone feel we are really as close to winning with ony 2 more Scum left, as suggested by Norio? There are 13 of us still standing. With at least 2 factions, plus any neutrals, which there perhaps is only be one or two(?) remaining, are we really flush with Yakuza at this time?
def Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Vote: Emi (Brickdoctor) I'd like to see a solid, documented defense to not make her the candidate today. Unfortunately, in my experience, such brusqueness, right from the start (and not as a reaction to prickish behavior from someone) is often scum.
