Microscale Helicarrier:

helicarrier_00.jpg

After several month I managed to finish this baby, it still has a lots of flaws but I need the parts for other MOCs therefor I declare it as the (one and only) finished version 1.0. Maybe I'll try my hands on a second version in 2007, but only time will tell on this issue...

This MOC, inspired by the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier from the Marvel comics, is a part of a group project I'm working on with some guys from other LEGO communities and hopefully I'll be able to add many more MOCs that follow similar design schemes.

Basically the carrier is owned by a paramilitary group that has alot of similarities to Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. organization...

Finally, I got to present the fleet of the carrier:

I plan to make System scaled version of all of those vehicles in the future.

Okay, that's it, hope you like it! ;)

This is beutiful! I love the concept, and the execution! Nice little aircraft and mecha too ;-) There's almost nothing I don't love about this, I can't wait to see a V 2.0 (which you NEED to make).

And a system scaled version of this? If you don't make it I will :-P

Huh, never heard of this S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier *googles*

Ooo. Pretty cool looking (both the moc and the picture that is) but I like the micro jets the best, pretty clever. Do you have bricks to repersent the barely visible helicopter blades in your picture?

So is it called a Helicarrier becuase it carries helis or is a carier that flies like a heli?

Nice,

I know its based on a comic book concept so I probably shouldn't worry about practicality but....

the giant helicoptor rotors are awfully close to the flight deck....

what happens when a singly drunk pilot crashes into them? brings down the whole carrier?

(Here is Apo speaking:)

Dude, even if this thing and all the guys working on it are created by my weird brain it doesn't mean the pilots are allowed to fly drunk too.... :-P

First of all, there is a corridor left between the rotors with a width of 6 or 7 studs, meaning at least the double or even larger size of the ships' widths.

The helicopter's landing platform is on the rear and there are no rotors in his way either. So I think with some careful handling this thing should be able to be operated without of too many accidents... ;-)
