Flare Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 [pid][/pid]208B This is one of my entries to the MocAthalon over on MOCpages. The category is: "Castaway: Grab your bricks and build a place that you would love to be shipwrecked on!" So that is what I built. I believe that this is my largest build to date, this build measures 48x64. If I had to be castaway anywhere, it would definitely be on an island chock full of loot! It is built upon two 32x32 baseplates and 2 16x32 baseplates. After that I built up the rock work and built a base to sit another 16x32 baseplate inside. The whole island ground is very firm and there is no chance of it collapsing if you press too firmly. Here is a side view of the creation. When you're stranded upon Treasure Island, you don't have to cheap out on your distress signs! The castaway... TREASURE! Buahahah! It appears that perhaps there was once a civilization here? Hopefully cannibals. Cannibals are more fun. Skull inspired by Sodagoat. Mr. Bones relaxing. Banana tree. Similar but different from the banana tree found in a recent Horrible Horace MOC, it was already completely taken apart so I put it back together, although slightly differently... if you want to waste time to figure out how it is different, then be my guest. The wreck of the shipwreck (yeah, its not even enough to call it a full-blooded shipwreck...) Did you notice that I took lots of pictures? The whole cave. Inspired by a cave built by Magma. Horrible Horace!?!?! Aerial view. I think that if anyone was flying over he would stop for the gold, not for the castaway. :P Mr. Bones again... And here is my newly designed Israeli flag! Dead Canadian. Don't ask. Purdy view Thanks for visiting Castaway Island! Come back soon... Check it out on MOCpages. Check it out on Flickr. Quote

Zeya Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Very nice! It definitely has a lot of charm and fun going on. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I'm not sure about the trans-clear plates and the white tiles (especially the one that isn't attached to the studs). But I'm just nitpicking as I just prefer SNOT water. Outside of that it's a very nice MOC. Good job on the photography and I like the piraty elements like the wreck in the water. Very well done Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I wonder who is going to see that S.O.S ? Great scene! Quote
Piranha Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Excellent MOC you have created Flare. The representation of the island is beautiful. All the wonderful building techniques you have on display make for a great MOC. Now all this needs is an obligatory rum cache. Quote
