Is dislike for fleshies only because of compatibility issues?

That's the prominent reason for me. Using flesh with yellow doesn't look right, and if I use flesh, I need to use darker shades of flesh to be 'culturally diverse'. Flesh tends to be way more detailed than yellow, but yellow is the classic color.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I like both colours. And I'll use both in a creation, and have no problems with it. It looks fine to me. Just like there's different colours of humans, there's different colours of minifigs. In my LEGO world, they both live in harmony.

Unfortunately I can't stand by this opinion any longer.

I built several more things with both kinds of minifigs, and after reading this topic, I looked at them with a very critical eye. I can't say I like mixing colours anymore.

I now prefer yellow. However, I'm going to use fleshies only for licensed themes, and yellow only for non-licensed.

My sig-fig (currently flesh) is going to be in all kinds of MOCs. I have a flesh version and a yellow one, so I'll use each one when appropriate.

It's sad that I can't make the colours work together, but oh well. Different skin colours mix well in the real world, but LEGO's yellow does not mix with their flesh.

Well, for things like orcs and other fantasy races diferent colors are fine. There's even been minifig robots or aliens that were red or blue, or something, and that's all cool. But to have some people yellow, and some people flesh bugs me.

Also... So many great torsos/face combos can't be use together!

I've always thought of the yellow minifigs as racially neutral - so when I see a MOC populated by yellow figs, it just looks normal to me, whereas with the light nougat ones, my first thought is always "My God, it's full of white people." There are just so few minifig heads out there in Reddish Brown or Medium Nougat or basically any flesh tone that isn't Light Nougat. So we get a wide variety of features and expressions for white people, but mostly just a bunch of Captain Panaka and Mace Windu clones for everyone else, which kind of undermines any attempt at realism.

Well, that blame falls on the movies the license is for. Star Wars, Batman, Avengers, Harry Potter. Just to name a few, the main bulk of the actors are white, except a few characters(Lando & Mace, Fury, Shacklebolt).

Exactly. I certainly don't blame TLG for it; it's definitely Hollywood's problem. (It is too bad we never got a Shacklebolt fig though, he would've been cool!)

I feel that different shades of yellow should be used. An egg yolk yellow would signify darker skin without being specific. A yellow ochre would say even darker skin. And pastel yellow would be great for ginger haired minifigs.

I never use the pink flesh in my stuff. I've got a couple of dark flesh and brown characters but only because I happen to have those heads and hands. Ordinary pink flesh just doesn't work with the countless yellow skinned minifigs I have.

I use yellow figs. I'll only use a flesh coloured one if I want a pale fig that would stand out for some reason.

I dislike them primarily because of the compatibility issues with the new torso prints from the licensed sets. A countless number of great new torso designs have been ruined because someone felt they just had to have some flesh coloured skin showing under the collar. Now obviously there's plenty of torsos that require the flesh tones (like the POTC cannibals etc.), but I'm talking about torsos like this. The added detail of showing the fig's skin under their clothes just isn't worth the fact that it throws compatibility out the window. If not for this, I'd have no beef with fleshies.
