March 28, 201212 yr I'm in the UK, and a good friend of mine i've known since childhood is also a huge technic fan. He goes to uni and he tells me a couple of his friends there are also at least Lego fans. Alasdair Ryan isn't really that far from me, though it would require a bit of a swim! March 28, 201212 yr Hi, i am from the Netherlands and i starded at oktober 2011 with Technic again, for more than 26 years off dark age. I also get signed me in here on EB and in the Netherlands on the Lowlug forum site. Four weeks ago i haved my first meeting with the Lowlug members and find out that there ware about 20 technic builders too show there moc's. I don't no how many technic builders are in the netherlands, but for mocing i just think they are max 50 builders the do makes good MOCS. Greets Edwin
March 28, 201212 yr I'm from holland to. I know quite a few Technic builders in holland, and I think there's plenty to go round with . Especially the lowlug forum helps a lot for builders in the Netherlands.
March 28, 201212 yr Yes, many Technic builders from the Netherlands. For example: Barman, JurgenKrooshoop, Mahjqa and many more I always thought there were many Technic builders in the usa, but recently (a few months ago) I read that there aren't many, or there aren't many that don't use the internet to show there creations .

March 28, 201212 yr You can count another one on the USA train. I havn't actually "met" any one else though. I did meet one guy that seemed like he was pretty into technic 10 years ago because he sold me all his stuff and he kept saying he purchased it all off "Brick-Bay"...haha. That being said, I walk a very fine line between collector and enthusiast/builder. Its a real tough call some days. I do wish I had the ability to meet more people. Any upcoming trips to NYC anybody?
March 28, 201212 yr Hi, i'm also from the netherlands. I am active on the EB forum and at the netherland lowlug forum. A lowlug meeting is a nice way to see other builders but the dutch technic builders are also to find on modelshows. An other great dutch technic builder is Designer Han.
March 29, 201212 yr I'm from NZ, not sure if there are any other technic fans here. Being a LEGO fan on this side of the planet really sucks because all the lego is ridiculously expensive. for example, the unimog costs $400 NZ, which is the same as $325 US, or 245 EURO. My last three LEGO purchases were all from Bricklink, and I think I will continue doing that because it is a lot cheaper, even with the shipping!
March 29, 201212 yr USA, Seattle area. (Doesn't that make 3 of us already?). Haven't made it to any events/meetings yet, but maybe next Brickcon...

Our low population density probably doesn't help, but still, it'd be great to have a meeting of some sort.

Hi Matt, I am mostly technic oriented, though I have been building trains again lately, and I do agree on the prices here now, one of the reasons I have closed my bricklink store is because it is getting too expensive to purchase stock here and have been buying more than selling. There are at least a few other Technic fans that I have sold to in NZ. I am in Chch, Rangiora.
March 29, 201212 yr Author At this moment the USA train has in this topic 9 AFOLS, the second is Holland with 5 and the third is New Zealand with 3, the rest of us, Spain, Germany, France, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Canada, United Kingdom, Poland, Scotland and Hungary, we have only one AFOL .

That's not true for Hungary. I've seen Hungarians around here, they just didn't add Hungary to their profiles. I recognised them by their names. I'm sure it's the same with the other countries too.
March 29, 201212 yr At this moment the USA train has in this topic 9 AFOLS I think we are spread all around the states though  . tim

Hmm, do you guys think we should make a "headcount" of how many ACTIVE technic builders (MOC-ers) there are around the globe? I think that could be useful information as well as a helping hand in meeting other people with the same interest in each of our contries. Also, why not make a dedicated FB page to help in popularity? I've seen the EB fb page, but it doesn't seem to be very active ( i could be wrong, sorry)

March 29, 201212 yr I have never met another AFOL in person, but that might becouse i live on a island that's not part of the mainland uk.
March 29, 201212 yr Author As I said before I met 4 friends a few weeks ago and the truth is it was a great help, my trial failed everywhere , I caught experience and received some good advices that helped me in my last MOC, meetings are very useful .

I come from a land downunder - Australia Have the same issue as the members in New Zealand; expensive Technic prices and low availabilty. Not to mention sets are not released until around 8-9 months after Europe. Make most big purchaces from BL. Jamie
