LEGO Historian Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) OK.... this is an easy one for me (since I wrote a 2800 page collectors guide on LEGO)..... First of all... unless this set did some traveling.... I assume that you are in the UK, Ireland or Australia.... The box is a 700K wooden box set, which sadly has most of the paper box cover torn off. That would be this set on the left.... Also included in that box are parts from a Homemaker Kitchen Set. The large blue smooth baseplate, and that oven range knob 1x4 brick..... .... and a UK version of the 494 White Fence Spare Parts Pack.... (in continental Europe they are red)... The 700K wooden box set dates (that version) 1962-64. The 263 Homemaker Kitchen dates to 1975-77. The 494 White Fences Parts pack dates to 1966-72. My Unofficial LEGO Sets/Parts Collectors Guide (a computer desktop download of 2800 pages).... shows all 5 versions of the 700K wooden box set, as well as 2 versions of the Contents List that comes with that set. I'm having a 1/2 off sale right now on my guide in the Bazaar! ;-) Edited March 21, 2015 by LEGO Historian Quote
Bennemans Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Somebody know what I got here? I'm not even sure if it's LEGO, but the color and plastic seem to match. (green brick for scale purposes) Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Y'all got some form of clone there. Couldn't say exactly what "brand", not like any I've seen before. You can tell from the dimpling on the sdes that they aren't some very vintage LEGO. They'd make nice beads though. Quote
thefamilybrick Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Found this in a spare parts shop. Obviously a rim,but can't find it in database. Can anyone ID or is it an imposter? Having hard time seeing LEGO Brand stamp or part number if any... thanks! http://thefamilybrick.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/wpid-wp-1427049928993.jpg http://thefamilybrick.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/wpid-wp-1427050006750.jpg Edited March 22, 2015 by thefamilybrick Quote
legoflop Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Thanks Lego Historian, much appreciated. You are correct, I am in UK. I think rather than pass this set on to the kids I will sell this one on to a collector to preserve the history with someone who appreciates the vintage stuff. I'll treat the kids to some modern stuff instead. Quote
RaptorBandito Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 (edited) Hi All, Any idea what dark bley part is being used for the top of the head, and upper shoulders, on this mecha? Here's a link to the Flickr so you can get a better look:https://www.flickr.com/photos/garry_rocks/16623405268/in/photolist-rjXieE-5LNKu8-5LNLgg-5LNJJg Edited March 27, 2015 by RaptorBandito Quote
mostlytechnic Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 It looks like the "gold ingot bar" http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=99563, but without the indentations on the top surface. (and that part has never been in dark grey, only gold and silver) Quote
TeamStucky Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 What are these two things? I know that the fan thing is LEGO but I'm not too sure about the windsurfing thing and accompanying wheel. Thanks Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 They all are LEGO. That is a technic wheel and tyre, and a windsurfer sail placed upside down on the mast. From an Island Extreme stunts set by the looks of them. Quote

I'll check out the Island Extreme line EDIT: Now that I checked it turns out to be 6734 "Beach Cruisers" from 2002. Thanks so much! Edited March 28, 2015 by TeamStucky Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Okay, so I forgot the fact that it was Xtreme stunts... It looks like you have parts from the Beach Cruiser. The sail is an older part though, the first were from 1992! Quote
L@go Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) I tend to see myself on the solving side of most of these puzzles, but I'm currently stumped - I've tried every search term I can think of on BrickLink and nothing comes up. I'm trying to figure out which set this sticker comes from. It's probably not applied to this particular piece in that set, but I'm after which set it's originally from. Anybody recognise it? Edit: Changed image host. Brickshelf sucks. Edited April 12, 2015 by L@go Quote
legoguy1984 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Hi all, I got a Lego lot and in amongst all the Lego and clone bricks I found a container. The bottom is clear and straight backed, the front curves towards the bottom and it has plastic ridges inside. The top is green with two tabs on the one side qnd one tab on the other to hold it onto the bottom and the top has a wierd tab thing cut out in the middle. Both the top and bottom have Lego on them but no part numbers. Any ideas? Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Pictures would be helpful. Legoguy. L@go, Brickshelf is down, so we'll have to wait a bit! Quote

It is glued, and looks like something out of LEGOLAND. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Sorry, I only have a phone to access the web. No PC at the moment So can't share a photo. Does it look like a container or package? Something like a cannister or tub that the set may have come in? I am trying to visualise it... EDIT: It isn't one of these is it? X-pods were a creator series of sets some years back. It is all I could come up with barring a photo from yourself. Quote
legoguy1984 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Like a container that a set would've come in. Unfortunately not round like the X-pod one shown. It is rectangular. Is there a way to search for canisters/containers on BL? Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Not anything that'd ID your part that I can find. Have you tried looking through Green or Trans-clear on the BL colour guide catalogue? The parts sound pretty "unique" so they would have a listing if you tap the colour block. The colour block listing doesn't show all the more generic plate and brick type parts. The lid and base would be listed separately by colour but then you could find out what they were as an assembly. L@go, I am guessing you went through all the stickers that came in Racers? It has a look of a vent detail that turned up on a lot of them. Quote

Edit: Changed image host. Brickshelf sucks. I suspect this is not a Lego sticker. Lego tend to make their stickers close to the size of the part they are meant to be applied to. This sticker is obviously too short for the 1x3 piece it's on but it appears to be too long for a 1x2. That would of course leave 1xN slopes but I couldn't find anything there... Quote
legoguy1984 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Thanks Peppermint_M, the mystery has been solved. It is a goal with belt clip.http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=3401-1. Thanks for the help. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 No problems! It was getting on my nerves that I couldn't figure it out! Quote

I've done exactly the same you did, but with a difference: I know for a fact it is a LEGO sticker - because I'm the one who peeled it off the original sticker sheet and put it on that piece (which makes it even more embarrassing that I couldn't remember which sticker sheet it was). But I've found it! I decided to meticulously go through the whole BL catalogue on sticker sheets, and finally, there it was - I thought it was a Racers set, but I was wrong: It comes from set 8236 Bike Burner, a small Technic set. And the reason I couldn't find anything when searching for "vents" or "intakes" or similar words, is that these are supposed to be the tread plates... Quote
Duq Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Ooh, the Bike Burner, from the bad old days of Technic... Quote
