thefamilybrick Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Having a hard time identifying this piece. I've search for combinations of "2 x 4" and "coupling" along with what I can read from the ID on the back of the part, but nothing. :( Anyone know what it is and where it's from? http://thefamilybric...07_204537-1.jpg Thanks! Jram Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Hi, first post. I'm in the process of clearing out my Lego - most of it was new when I got it (82 - 94) and some of it came from my big cousin, so it'll be 70s. Peeron has been very useful (and time consuming), but there are some things I just can't place. I have two 1 x 6 x 1 white bricks with 'Shell' printed on them. I can't tell if they are from one set or two, as the undersides of the bricks differ. Of the five locators, one brick has a central support, the other has supports at positions 2 and 4. I put a photo on Twitter, for quickness: https://twitter.com/JRA_Mills/status/688497495396249600/photo/1 Any leads on which set/s these are from? I have been trying to work it out from the other bricks I have, but nothing conclusive. Thanks. Quote
antp Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 The various 1x6 shell bricks from Bricklink: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3009pb156#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3009pt1#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3009pb004#T=C check which writing style matches those you have, and then you have the possible sets including the parts Quote

sandtrooper Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 What is an easy way to identify the length of a Technic axle? Would an axle 3 be the same length as a 1 x3 plate, an axle 4 the same as a 1 x 4, etc? Thanks! Quote

They're like bars, I believe, measured in Lego "width", or "length", vs. "hight" - thus, 3L, 4L, etc.... Quote
