@berntLooks like this piece , I searched by color first, but since there also was a year 2005 on it, I'd go from there otherwise, sets with the part first came out in 2006 apparently.

Cool! If you need help finding the value and rarity of the 50's bricks you found, I might be able to help.

Sounds good. Currently sorting through some pieces, I`ll send you a message when I`ve found all of them :)

I have found these 2 bricks together in my attic...probably from the 80's as thats the era i was born in...

The round one in the back, i think is to turn on the lights of a fire- or police car, so i thought the other one would be a battery pack as it is far heavier then a regular brick.

But i don't seem to get it to open...what are you're thoughts? Thanks in advance...

Looking to know what number/name this tri-pod is. I use it as legs for a 'theodolite', used for measuring or aligning machines/floors/etc. Found it in the box with old LEGO.

Just found this in a random locals listing.

Can anyone ID the purple tulip-bulb looking flower? Would love to seek out more of them but I have no idea where or what to search.

These are Exo-Force drone arms. Or Bionicle mini-fig arms. That was where they first appeared.

Most of those look to be the later version of Exo Force arms still in many sets now, as they got the thicker support :

The brown one looks like the older model :

Thanks soooo muuuch!!!!  I figured they had something to do with Bionicle, But just could not find them on Bricklink. It was obvious there were several versions too. BTW, I have now found my favorite store in all the world, called "Bricks and Minifigs". Here in the USA they are a chain that are Lego resellers.

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can help identify these parts. They have come from a lego collection of maybe 20-30 years old and i am really struggling to find out what these parts are!

Thank you Peppermint_M ! Much appreciated.
I didn't think they would be from the 60's.

Man, that piece takes me back to my old Sampsonite days.  As I recall, that was a trailer hitch for an old fire engine kit I once had.  I think they also used it as a train coupling, but I never had those sets.

They're in excellent condition for the dates!

I only came across these when I spent time on bricklink looking at parts on variations on white. I have never seen them in the wild.

Yup, I have one of those from about 56 years ago. Mine are slightly more yellowish. they are probably made out of nylon.

I think i also have the pieces to make the train set they were originally from. We've worked out they must be from my Uncles set from when my grandparents downsized and passed on various toys.

Thanks again!

Not sure if this is the correct topic, but I recently bought a bunch of used Lego, and I was wondering if there's any way to easily identify the colours of various pieces? I know there are colour charts and such, but comparing to them doesn't really work for some colours, as you can't be sure your monitor is displaying the colours correctly. I have no idea about the sets which these parts come from so no help there, though most I can identify by comparing them to other parts which I know the colour for certain.

Taking a picture with camera flash on (point and shoot or SLR flash will generally yield sufficient results) and a solid white, grey or black background or using direct sunlight as the lighting source can help us as these light sources will be close to 5000K color temperature lighting. I have a color calibrated monitor which will help further but you're right unless the photographer takes the necessary steps to ensure color accuracy the results can vary widely.

Thanks for the tip! I'll do some sorting and see which ones I can figure out by myself and then try to take a good photo of the rest. I don't have any other camera besides a phone, but sunlight should be doable.

A good LED or White Light is also an excellent way to check colours. When I am building, the space is currently lit with neon-tubes with a more yellow light (I will fix that eventually) so I use the phone flash assistive light feature (Or Flashlight/torch) on certain bricks. It is useful to figure colours apart.
