I'm usually pretty pure as to altering Lego panels and colors. But the Strider seemed to be just the type of project that the panels were calling to me for airbrushing. Here is the result.

I don't like to modify Lego myself, but perhaps this could also work by printing onto adhesive paper/plastic and using them as stickers on the panels.

Thanks for the comment. Your idea about the sticker based mod is a good one, I think I'm going to build a second one with an alien paint scheme.
