Hi everyone. This is my first post in Eurobricks, and it's my last-minute entry in the "To Sail the Technic Sea" competition: An NXT-powered Manta Ray

It was either this or a shark, but I think someone's already done the shark, so here's mine.

It's got one servomotor to tilt the ray left and right, and two motors that power the ray's fins up and down as it "swims".

UPDATE: Here's the video of the manta ray in action. Nothing fancy, just a swimming motion.

@ Reventist: My nipples are burning to Eurobricks! :classic: Its good to see a Mindstorms-based entry. Is your Manta Ray made entirely of the contents of the 8547 NXT 2.0 set?

Alas, not entirely, no. I had to pinch a few 4/6 technic liftarms to round out the ray shape. Aside from that, yeah everything's from NXT 2.0.

This is an awsome model. i love manta's and I want to build one like yours. Could you give me some instructions?

I've never seen this model before but I quite like the idea! However, I don't think there are any instructions for this model.

Sorry to sound negative, but some people might get annoyed seeing a 3 year old thread being bumped.
