manodeath Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 THE WEAPONS the thing that REALLY sparks about the robot's battle machines is that the weapons looks complicated and looks good while the humans have weapons that are well simple looking but still looks it can pack a punch and if u just see the box art of the sky guardian(hikaru) u can see that the weapons are a zamor launcher and a light up sword?????lego is just pinching weapons from the inikia and obviously NOT using much imagination here and the iron cordorweapons is just asimple 1 brick cannnon and with claws shorter thanthe claw crusher?the special feeling from exo just seem to fade away already......and u can bet they are not using the phrase "power up" anymore in 07 exo comics ..... THE BODY u can tell already that the body would be skinnier and thats because there no light brick to occupy a big space anymore hence a differnt body build up resulting the use of more bricks and that probably would explain the 1 brick weapons and well getting sick of it..anyhoo playability would be better thanks to bionicle jointsinstead of KK joints and the result more kids buying exo and would explain the BAD looking robot stickers for 07 zzzzzz OVERVIEW not a very bright year to me anyway and the only GOOD looking mech is ryo's mech and then the others well bad and thats because LEGO is not using any/much imagination on the weapons.to me exo has lost half of the war since most of the mechs dont have the NEWfactor now.i am not compining here but just wish lego would put in more effort in exo sets .... peace ... Jipay Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 an introduction post wouldn't kill, neither some more space in your post ! Welcome anyway Quote
Zane Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 The mech doesn't have a light up sword. 0_o The cannon is bad, but just mod it if it bothers you that much. The sets have guarded cockpits (especially the Blade Titan), and I think Lego has listened to criticism about the theme. Iron Condor would be better with a sheilded cockpit though, but I think that at least the Hero mechs are great. Quote
Zarkan Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 It's not a bad year to me, it's just a year that could be better. I am loving the small mechs and the Shadow crawler, though, and other than the Iron Condor, I'll probalbly get all of them. ;-) Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I wasn't very impressed by any of the sets in the first year... I'm likin' these newer ones for the parts though. They definitely are better designed than the current ones. More diverse and more logically constructed. ...if you're in to the official models. And really... a robot mech carrying a dead human around on it's butt... I'm loving the darker themes. Especially since the idea that the Exo-Force guys have ANY chance against 20 million robots to begin with. X D Quote
KMOI Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Firstly, welcome to the boards! I agree with Zane. This year's sets really take everyone's comments into consideration. Now, we got pretty solid cockpits for the humans (And not the robots, because they're made tougher than humans, but more importantly, they're expendable), technic parts for arms (And not legs, because balljoints can take that much weight) and a waist joint for the Iron Condor to boot! They've definately learned alot and are truly making the most out of their lack of the light bricks. I agree with the "taking other parts from other themes" analysis of the Sky Guardian's zamor launcher. While I pass it off as an extremely lethal (But short ranged) energy grenade launcher, it's a blemish on an otherwise not-so-bad robot. Other than that, the weapons are pretty good. The return of the rifle is definately welcomed as is the sword, which looks like it can tear through anything. Really reminds me of the anti-ship sword from Gundam! I can understand why the Claw Crusher has bigger claws. See, in a theme like Exo-Force, mechs need features that really make them stand out from one another. For the Claw Crusher, it's the claws. For the Iron Condor, it's those massive wings that make it stand out! Sticker-wise, it's not too shabby. Now, we have multi-coloured stickers, as opposed to the ones we got this year. While I got to admit that the designs aren't what we've gotten in the past, it's not too bad. Aside from my personal gripes with the mechs (Such as those pelvis pieces as the Sky Guardian's forearms), they're not all that bad. It's a definate departure from this year's offerings, but it isn't for a lack of trying! If anything, LEGO's really trying hard to define a new "season" of Exo-Force, which they've definately done with these radical designs. Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 LEGO is definately doing things differently this time around. These new mechs look to be somewhere in between the size of a bigger 06 mech and the smaller mechs. Perfect size actually! The weapons are definitely more original except the zamor launcher. LEGO loves re-using ideas from other themes and it drives me crazy!!! *n* But other then that 07 is looking pretty good! Quote
dillthepill Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I agree with all the supporters, 2007 looks like a great year. I have already bought the CD, BT, SK, and three CCs. Quote
