This building is located 11 miles away from Irazú Volcano, in a place called Prusia. This place is characterized by fog and cold weather.

It owes its name to the surgeon that created this center, Dr. Carlos Duran Cartin. He was Costa Rica’s president for a short period (1889-1980), during this time he founded this Sanatorium and Chapui Asylum, that was used for mentally ill people.

Duran’s Sanatorium was built in 1915. Due to its location, it was the ideal place to shelter people that suffered tuberculosis. In fact the place had all the services as in a hospital, and it provided 300 beds.

It seems that around the year 1963 the center stopped working. till then, it's said that the place is haunted... yestarday I found ghosts on this place!

I was on one of its corridors.... when sudenlly, I took this pictures!

Ummm... not that much to do with LEGO, really. I'm moving it to Community.

sorry, and thanks for moving it!

I spend more than an hour thinking where to post it, and I knew I screw up!

Hehehehe, nice. I can already imagine "La Extra"'s headline: "FIRST PICTURES OF GHOSTS IN DURÁN SANATORIUM".

Would've been nice to see the ghost fig glowing in the dark there, but I wouldn't dare going in the night.

la Extra  , yellow "yucky" press!

and my fellow costarriqueño, the ghost glows in some darker places on the sanatorium, but the pictures were so blurry that I don't bother posting it.

but I'll add this other :

Haha, the ghost's smile is really the cherry on top!

oh yes!, he enjoy given spooky whispers here and there!

I have to say that the ghost is a very pleasant model

I came here expecting a poorly edited picture of an ethereal figure standing down a hallway. Several 'Pg Dn' button-pressings later, and I was face to face with a smiling phantom. Needless to say, this actually made me jump!
