Peppermint_M Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Tesni shook her head. "We need on that boat. I have tickets here. Let us on," She gave him a withering look. "Else I may have to make a disruptive noise." Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 He looks around to see if anyone is in earshot then leans in closer to Tesni "I don't want any trouble, I'm not really the fighting type. They call me Joker round here. Anyhow, so if you have tickets you won't be sent off the plank as stowaways. You could swim out to the ship but...well I dunno what creatures might be in the water here. See those four big boxes and barrels over there? Well...you could hide in there. They are the last ones to get loaded and the have to get on the ship." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Tesni winked at the shipman, "Thanks mate, no ill will." She hoisted Maurice and walked over to the cargo. Dumping him into one that looked about right. "We'll hide away. Choose well everyone!" She grinned and fitted herself into some cargo. Quote
Quarryman Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 "Okay Tesni, this might not be a perfect solution, but what the heck." Namyrra jumps into the huge, pink and clearly more comfortable-looking chest. Quote
Khorne Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Eric raised an eyebrow at the pirate's suggestion of hiding into the crates and barrles. He opened his mouth to protest, but then wisely decided to just follow the party's course of action. He grumbled and threw the sailors a dirty look. With a lot of effort, the large Barbarian managed to get into one of the barrels, ready to be smuggled aboard. He hated small places and wished for this entire hiding-ordeal to be over already. Quote
Darkdragon Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 With Maurice dumped in a strangely empty barrel, Tesni climbs into the brown crate. It seems to be full of sliver dinner ware and is quite noisy as she gets settled. Joker starts whistling a tune to try and disguise the fact that he should be doing something to stop people from coming aboard the ship in this manner. Namyrra opens up the pink chest and hops in without looking. Luckily she lands on some pretty dresses and other fine clothes. She relaxes and lays back to wait. Eric is left alone on the dock and decides he should get into the last barrel. It's full of some sort of grain, so he just dumps it into the water and climbs inside. Just as he is finishing closing the lid of the barrel, the other two pirates come back on the dock. "What'r you wislin fer Joker? You sure is one crazy fella, out here makin all that noise." The two pirates start laughing and walk over to heft more crates and boxes onto the ship. Joker, for once, is not laughing. Luckily for him and for the party, nobody seems to notice this or his sideways glances over at the large crates and barrel. After what seems like an eternity to Eric and Tesni, but no time at all to Maurice and Namyrra, they hear a lot of yelling and each of them is rumbled around inside the containers as they are lifted off the dock and placed roughly into the ship's cargo hold. When the Timekeeper goes off with a BingBongBing Ding, nobody even notices as it comes from inside the very noisy chest. Finally things quiet down. The heroes can hear nothing but their own breath inside the containers. Moments later there's a jolt and the ship has started moving. Tesni is first to eek open her chest and take a peek. The room is empty except for the stacks of cargo and supplies. She climbs out and knocks on Eric's barrel. Eric pops out, not being quiet about it at all but wanting to escape that stuffy coffin immediately. Tesni opens the other barrel and Maurice is still unconsciously crumpled at the bottom just the way she left him. Namyrra slowly raises her chest lid and looks out at the others, yawning and stretching. "Already there? I was having a nice nap." Once everyone is out of the stow-away boxes, they look around the room. There is one exit that heads up some stairs, probably to the ship deck. Even with tickets, the party members know they should find the captain or first-mate soon without getting seen by too many other crew members. What will the party do now. Quote
Quarryman Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Helping Maurice out of his barrel Namyrra can't help but notice a hard bulk in his trousers. "Uhm, Maurice, surely that must be a diamond in your trousers, because I hardly believe that you're that happy to see me.. am I right?" Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 "We can roll him over later Namyrra, it wouldn't do to make out healer cross now would it? We need to get to the captain, so lets take a listen at the door." Quote
Darkdragon Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 Tesni listens at the door leading out of the cargo hold. It sounds like normal ship-sailing yelling and movement. While listening, the Timekeeper goes off again BingBongBing Ding Ding. Based on the time, it would stand to reason that it was probably very dark outside and they'd been sailing long enough to be away from the city. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 "Well, lets take a look around the boat shall we? I'll lead but anyone who knows boats is welcome to point out useful stuff." The mountain girl opened the door, pretending this wasn't the furthest from land she had ever been. Quote
Quarryman Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 "Okay Tesni, lead the way, but we should probably try to be quiet." Feeling more than a little uncomfortable with being on a ship again after her previous experience with the treacherous things she prepared to follow Tesni into the unknown. Surprisingly being around the crazy berserker girl made her feel much better about the whole experience of being in a wooden box on a vast expanse of water.. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 "Oh! One thing." Tesni rummaged around a little, failing to find water she picked Maurice up by the shoulder. "Wakey wakey Cleric Ratibor." She said, giving him a little shake. "Failing this I'll have to try socks..." Tesni was trying to avoid thinking about the vast expanse of water below her feet... Quote
Etzel Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 "Oh! "Uh, uhm, wha.. what? Oh, my head! What happened? Where are we? Is that disgusting thief Knees still around, I want to teach him a thing or two?" Maurice slowly gets up on his feet while trying to make sense of the situation. Quote
Darkdragon Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 Maurice tries to catch his footing, but the swaying of the below-decks catches him offguard and he falls down on the wooden plank floor. The smell of saltwater and seaweed invades his nostrils, but he soon is able to stand up on his own. The heroes quietly open the door and peer up onto the deck. Keeping in the shadows, they take half a step out and look around. Most of the deck hands are busy doing their jobs and paying no mind to the cargo area. From the position of the party, they can see a staircase ahead with a door underneath, possibly the Captains cabin. Up the stairs there is a man with a big hat and spyglass standing near the wheel. Next to him is a man in a smaller hat and holding a bottle of rum. The two men are conversing but with the roar of the wind and the other noises on the ship, it is impossible to hear what they are saying. Will the party head up the stairs and talk to the men or leave the safety of the doorway and see what is behind them? Quote
Khorne Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Eric looked at Maurice getting up and chuckled at the Cleric's apparent clumsy behaviour at sea. Eric was clearly glad to be out of that barrel and find himself surrounded by the freedom of the ocean again. He smiled as he spotted the pirate's bottle of rum. Eric felt thirsty, but was more focused. He didn't like it and he wanted a drink fast so he'd feel more at ease. "Looks like we've found our captain. Will we go up or do you want to look around in the cabin first, Tesni?" Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 "We are in a wooden bowl on floating above fathoms of water... I think we should respectfully introduce ourselves to these men. It would not be a good idea to loot or damage anything, nor to upset those who are all that stand between us and watery doom." She left the room and ushering the others behind her, approched the men. Quote
Darkdragon Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 The heroes make their way to the stairs. They get a couple glances from the saliers but nobody approches them, seeing where they are headed. When they get near the top, the man with the rum comes over to stop them from going any farther. "Woah there. Who are you, I don't remember taking tickets from you. Do you know what we do to stowaways here? It's too late now, you'll have to go to the brig I think." Quote
Quarryman Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 "Woah there. Who are you, I don't remember taking tickets from you. Do you know what we do to stowaways here? It's too late now, you'll have to go to the brig I think." "Good evening, you're the first mate I presume? We're awfully sorry about this whole mess, but we do have tickets for passage on your fine ship." Namyrra then proceeds to take the tickets Tesni so thoughtfully had pulled out of her pants and shows them to the first mate. Quote
Darkdragon Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 "Oh aye, these are the tickets. We won't worry about how you got on board though, I must have missed you at the docks. I'm Pip, the First Mate. That there is the Captain." Pip heads back up to the captain and hands him the bottle of rum, says a few words, points at the party. The captain grumbles something back and shoes him away. He returns to the party empty-handed but with the same goofy smile he had before. "If you'll follow me, I'll show you to your cabin." He leads the party through the ship, waving and nodding at various individuals on the way. Pip points out the various parts of the ship as they pass. "The cargo hold there strictly off limits to passengers, so I recommend you stay out of there. Over there you can see a fishing area in case you want to fish off the sides during the voyage and that is the Galley. You'll take all your meals there with the other passengers, we have some ale and you can go down there whenever you want. Ah here we are at cabin #27. This will be your home for the voyage." "As you can see it is very luxurious. There is a bed for each of you, with I think.." he squints into the darkness "yes I think clean linens. There is a box for your personal items, and here are the stairs and door to get in and out...um hmm I guess that's about it. Do you have any questions?" Quote
Quarryman Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 "Do you have any questions?" "Just one, how long will the voyage last?" Quote
Darkdragon Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 "Just one, how long will the voyage last?" "The voyage will be two days. I forgot to mention, feel free to wander around the ship and talk to those who will talk to you. Though you can also just lay in here the whole voyage, it's all up to you." Quote
Etzel Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Maurice squints at the linens as well, but can't really make out how the first mate can call them "clean". Well, could've been worse, he thinks. "I wouldn't mind spending some more time on deck in the fresh air, some fishing might be a nice relaxing thing to do." Quote

"Yes, fishing is something many of us enjoy. Hopefully your fishing pole is strong, these waters can be rough. If there are no other questions, I must head back to the Captain. He'll need some help getting the rum into his glass." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 "Fishing sounds good. Anyone got a spear?" Tesni loved to fish, the mountain lakes had always presented a good challenge. Quote

"Fishing does sound good, but really, does it make sense to go fishing in the middle of the night? Shouldn't we rather sleep a bit first? This has after all been a horribly long day, and it has been spent trekking through sewers." Quote
