Eric rid himself of the slime that covered him. "Went down again. I'm losing my touch," he thought to himself. He then eyed the Cleric, "The only times I fell, were on Quests with him. Damn his foolish god seeking to bring me down!"

As the other barbarian in the party cheerfully exclaimed the party would soon leave the sewers, Eric couldn't help but mutter "I sure hope so, can't wait to get out of this stinking hole"

The party continues north. The passage twists and turns a little, but in general they can tell they are still heading north. The Bing Bong Bing of the Timekeeper goes off twice as the party keeps walking, and walking. The damp thick air seems to cumulate in the small coridors. Maurice walks up ahead a bit and shines the torchlight down any junctions, and the heroes realize that without the torch they would have been moving even more slowly through this slimey wasteland.

They come to a junction that heads Northwest and Southeast, but Maurice shines the light ahead and tells Tesni that the Northwest passage ends in a wall and so the party heads Southeast. They come to another wall with a symbol, they recognize the symbol from earlier, when they entered the Northern path. Unlike all the other walls with symbols, this one has only one path leading away from it plus of course the path they are on right now. This symbol seems to be drawn on the wal with somehing else, it's not as dark as the other lines were and there is something disconcerting about it. Maurice takes a peak around the corner with his torch and sees that the path immediately goes South and he swears he saw many bright points of light, almost like light reflecting off tiny eyes, in the darkness ahead.

"These sign are really weird, I can't understand what they are supposed to mean. If we are going south it might be a good idea to ingest some enhancing substances, I think I saw something down that way."

"Let's get out of this damp and rotten place as soon as possible, I can't wait to be on a boat once more. These small confines are getting on my nerves." Eric grumbled and shook his head as he took another look at the weird sybmol. He hated the feeling that he didn't know the meaning behind something that looked so obvious in a way. "I wonder why they painted this one in blood" he mused.

"Oh well, all this walking has made me thirsty" he said and unpopped one of his mead bottles. He downed the entire bottle and felt re-energized. The alcohol freed his mind in a way and made these tiny corridors far less confining to the tall Nord.

"You know what, up on the mountains we had a saying: Where there is blood there is trouble. It never did mention written in blood but I think that makes it double bad. Lets head back to the last intersection and go the other way."

The heroes turn back, leaving the myseteries of the crimson symbol and dark path behind them. Just as they turn around the Timekeeper sounds it's alarm to notify them it is 11:00.

The journey back takes half the time as the slow journey down the hallways the first time. They travel through the decaying corpses of the slime monster, but Eric hardly notices in his encouraged state.

They finally make it back to the junction with the two symbols.

This time, Tesni leads them down the path headed East.

The path heads East a short way, and just as they turn to head North again a Bing Bong Bing Ding emmanates from Tesni's pack. The team continues on, heading East again, then South. After a few small bends, the Timekeeper sounds again "Bing Bong Bing Ding Ding" just as they come upon a family of bats. Some seem to be sleeping, but a big Grey one lets out a screech and three others wake up.

RESULTS FOR ROUND ONE

Namyrra vs. Old Bat - Critical Hit

Maurice vs. Bat B - Miss

Namyrra lights up the narrow corridor with a well-placed spell, taking out the Old Bat and turning it into bat-jerky. The encouraged, angry Eric swings at the first bat that flies out at him. With his lightening axes blazing, he smacks the bat into the sleeping bats who never even knew there was a battle. One of the black bats swoops in to bite Tesni but she flings it away roughly with her sword. Maurice swings at the bat but manages to hit only it's shadow.

Pleased with the easy kill, Eric moved to take out Bat C.

OoC: Since I'm half a Barbarian, I don't do Critical Hits, but Extra Critical Hits. Just wanted to point that out. You missed during the Slime battle too, I think, but the battle was over before I could point it out :classic: .

Namyrra turns Bat B into a nice snack with her lightning. Eric tried to attack Bat C but since he had already killed it he robs the only remaining bat and manages to somehow wring 29 gold out of Bat A before squishing the life from it's body.

THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS!

Eric pulls the little mammal out of the air and rips apart the creature. He throws its now lifeless body on the wet floor and tramples it with his heavy boot. Wild bloodlust runs through his eyes during this gory spectacle. The thrill of the kill and the daze of constant drinking had taken over this once proud warrior. The longer Eric was staying in Eubric, the more it seemed that his ways took a turn for the more sinister and macabre. It took the Nord a while before he fully regained his calm posture.

Scraping off the bat remains off his boot, he waited for the party leader to act and lead the way.
