Darkdragon Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Maurice once again leaves the party to check out the new Southern path. He doesn't get very far before he can easily see tiny eyes glinting in the firelight at the end of the hall. It looks like the path ends quickly South but then turns East. Without venturing farther toward the creatures, he is unable to see what lies beyond the Eastward bend. Thinking of his safety, Maurice heads back to let the others know what he found. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Tesni takes the timekeepr from her pocket to check "Damnable mazes! They are never good news!" Quote
Etzel Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 "Hrm, I not sure it's safe to take that path, maybe it's better if we turn back to the last junction with a symbol and go east from there." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 "That is a good idea Cleric Ratibor, we will do that." Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Tesni pulls out the Timekeeper and the tablet top shimmers for a moment before displaying the numbers: 21:30 Heading back to the wall with the symbol, the team takes the path to the East. The path turns North, then South, then East again. They head East for quite a while and come to another junction. There are two symbols on two walls. The wall to the West: The wall to the North: What will the heroes do? Quote
Etzel Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 "Another symbol? Who paints all these? I guess I'll try and peak through the western passage." Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Maurice heads off to check out the passage on the West. It ends abruptly in a small room with a small crate. What will Maurice do? Quote
Etzel Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Maurice heads off to check out the passage on the West. It ends abruptly in a small room with a small crate. What will Maurice do? Maurice sees his opportunity to get some extra loot and runs to the crate without noticing his party members about his find. OoC: This will end badly! Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Maurice sneaks down the hall suddenly much quieter. He heads to the crate and tries to lift the lid. To his surprise, the lid lifts easily. A rock that was on top of it falls off the lid when he lifts it. He tries to catch the rock but seeing as he is holding the torch and the lid, he has no way to catch it and it drops behind the crate, hitting the wall and sending echoes down the hallway. "Cleric, what's going on?" Tesni yells down the hall. "Nothing, I'm headed back." Maurice calls back. Checking to make sure nobody is coming, Maurice gently lifts the lid off the crate and sets it down on the stone floor. He peers inside with the torch held high. Inside the crate is a bloodied bag of (100) gold, a Holy Bomb, and a Grand Potion. What will Maurice do now? Quote

"I'll better take care of this gold, those filthy barbarians will only spend it on mead and stupid bets. And that holy bomb is certainly aimed for me as well, I'm a servant of the Light after all." thought Maurice to himself and picked up the gold and the bomb and put them in his pockets. "This potion I don't have much need for, I think I give it to the party leader." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 "What was down there Cleric? A route out of this gods forsaken place?" Tesni kept quiet about the possiblity of Zoot, the Ennoc worshiper would find that vexing to say the least. Quote

Tesni kept quiet about the possiblity of Zoot, the Ennoc worshiper would find that vexing to say the least. "No, just a dead end. But I found this Grand potion just lying around, you can have it if you want it. Grand Potion – Restores 25 health to the target. Costs 10 gold. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 "Well, that will be useful. I'll hang onto it incase anyone really needs it. But now I am completely at a loss on what to do!" Quote

Peppermint_M Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Tesni muttered darkly about smelly tunnels and mazes, leading the way north. Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 The heroes continue heading North. The long hallway ends finally in a square room. The walls reach high into the darkness and on one wall there is what appears to be a door. The only problem is that there is no way to open the door, no locks, no handle, nothing at all. There is a strange symbol carved into the stone wall. The only other way out of the room is the way they entered. They start searching the room, Maurice hears a click and when he looks up he sees two eyes staring at them through a slit in the door that had not been there before. "Who are you? What do you want here?", a gruff voice barks at them from behind the door. What will the party respond? Quote

Quarryman Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 "I don't know what you are talking about. Who sent you?" "Began Drakes." Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 The party hear a series of what sounds like heavy locks and latches being undone and the heavy door slow swings open. A huge man, half again the size of Eric is standing in the doorway. "Oh, its you guys. Took you long enough. Follow me then. Don't touch anything or talk to anyone. You don't want trouble in here." The man leads the party down a short hallway to another door. He opens the door with a key and leads them inside. The door opens to reveal a huge chamber with tables, shelves, weapons, chests, and at least twenty men and women .They all look busy but once in a while the heroes can see a gaze follow them as they cross the chamber. Everyone is armed and most look well trained. At one point a Bing Bong Bing rings out from Tesni's pack but is quickly silent, many heads turn at the sound but then turn back to what they were doing just as quickly. The heroes are led to a desk at the far end of the room. A man sits at a desk, writing. "Wait here for a second." the guide sais gruffly and walks up to the man at the desk. He whispers to the man who looks at the party, then nods to the other. "Alright, come on already." he calls to them. The party walks up and stands in front of the desk. The man behind the desk finishes his writing and finally looks up at them. "So you are Drake's group from Heroica eh? I was expecting you hours ago. How can I be of service?" The smugness of the man is not lost on the heroes, but neither is his obvious experience in the fighting arts. How will the heroes respond? Quote

Darkdragon Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 He laughs but then suddenly stops short. "That wasn't you all making the noise a couple hours ago I hope? Some of my men said one of our gates is destroyed and another is badly damaged." Quote
