Jipay Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Just found a link to this amazing video : take a "standard girl", use lights make up and photoshop : all the steps are shown. Here Quote
ApophisV Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Actually after getting a nice make-up and a great hair style this girl really became a real beauty. After the photoshopping she looked like an undercover alien intruder... 8-| (Anyone remeber this cone-boobed Mars Attacks! alien? :-D ) I really like this video and I think I'll show it to my little sister (15 years old) soon, it sure have some educative sense. Brick Miner Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 hmmmm.... that was interesting. i thought the girl was beautiful before :-D but i see the point of the film maker. thanks for sharing jipay, very enlightening stuff 8- Quote

Aredhel Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 IMO this video should be shown to many many young girls who really believe that this is the must for every girl to reach such kind of beauty. If everyone would be as beautiful as all the models (or the so-made-models) the world would be boring!!! These beauty-ideals should not give young girls an anorexia lilfe!!! -Aredhel Quote
ApophisV Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I have read a survey a few years ago that found out that "beauty" comes from an as average face as possible. Meaning that if you take pictures of hundreds of girls (and for men it surely works too) and you morph them all together you should get a "perfect" face. Weird if you ask me... 8-| Quote
ghoulrealm Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I thought she looked her best before ANY alterations. The makeup alone makes her look fake. Quote
Brick Miner Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 the reason why these 'unnatural looks' are so popular is because they consist of a series of features people like the most, they give 'a collage' of what people seem to consider ideal, very often these features just don't mix very well in reality, or even look unnaturala collage of prefect features, well, that makes sense... however, it seems that when i watched the video the first time, i saw them appling and introducing features that were unnatural altogether.for some reason, when i watch it a second time, it looses that effect. it seems a majority, of which you're not a part, it seems, loves these type of idealistic shots, they don't think they're unnatural or inhuman...yes, i think that was my question, "why do we find these characteristics beautiful? if they aren't naturally occuring." i hope i worded that correctly ;-) you know, i never would have thought that girl in the billboard was unnatural until i saw this video. that is why it was so enlightening. the finished "product" is much more beatiful than the starting model... but i still think she was still pretty without the photoshop ;-) - BrickMiner Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 She looked best at 21 seconds in. The last pic is just a painting to my senses. Quote
Cutty Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I didn't wonder actually to see the dove-ad campaign in this video. I find their approach to advertise with real-life women to be a step in the right direction. Just for a sense of scale I'm talking here, type "dove ad" in the google picture search. The women in these ads are really beautiful, at least according to my tastes. Indeed, what am I supposed to do with a girl that looks like one had to force-feed her to prevent her starvation? I hate fake-faces in the media period. Quote
Lord David Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Any of you guys here actully photoshop? I do a bit of "photoshopping" here and there... Quote
Jipay Posted January 6, 2007 Author Posted January 6, 2007 I do. BTW, not to sound rude or anything but your sig is definitly WAYYY TOO BIGGG. It'd be really appreciated if you could downsize it (a lot) :-) Quote
Scouty Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Oh yes! I do. I edit all of my pictures in photoshop and it's a wonderful program. I even do my video special effects in photoshop. I still have to make them look better though. The video is nice, kinda unexpected what was going to happen though. Quote
ApophisV Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I'm a Paint Shop Pro fan to the core... I'm working with V6.00 since many years and I won't change that for the next years >:-) Quote
Jipay Posted January 6, 2007 Author Posted January 6, 2007 Well both are excellent programms. Paintshop has one main advantage : the price. Photoshop is seating on its fame and make clients pay for a name. Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 End result was not my kind of girl anyway. Quote
