Posted April 10, 201212 yr Can people post examples of how they dress their streets? I'm looking for inspiration for a beginner for things like traffic lights, and general street furniture. Ideally to go alongside a modular street but unlimately I'm looking for ideas so scale isn't as important as imagination. Thanks :) Edited April 10, 201212 yr by mrklaw
April 10, 201212 yr Well, for instance, I got a newspaper vending machine: street scene 4 by cimddwc, on Flickr And a (defaced) election poster, a bench and filled trashcan - and adding some scenes like a police action is good to liven things up:
April 11, 201212 yr I've desgned custom bits for my city's strees, such as this bus stop: And this streetlamp: This Street/Highway sign: 02 by Dakar A, on Flickr And these custom plant beds with trees (In the top left corner of the photo): 32 by Dakar A, on Flickr Hope I helped! Dakar

April 11, 201212 yr Need a phone box..... Or petrol pumps...... I might coming up with even more Lego City-ish street stuff shortly.
April 11, 201212 yr LT, that phone booth is excellent. I need to add some street furniture also. All I have are a couple benches and newsstand.
April 11, 201212 yr OT!: -> Tiger, we don't have red phonebooths here in DK - that's the UK And TDC is dismantling the rest, everybody have cell/mobilephones here now. Buy less Lego and save up for a ticket to Denmark
April 11, 201212 yr I use what comes in the sets: light posts in the Modulars. Street and signal lights from City. There's great ideas here for other bits, however. The newsstand, the different sidewalk techniques.
April 12, 201212 yr I really like your bus shelter! I also have them in my town, but i have no bus. They serve more as a gazebo. Brick On!
April 12, 201212 yr I remember in my early Lego days I would build custom phone booths. Now they cease to exist around me in real life, but part of me want my Lego people to live in a simpler time. I only am using the Catwoman's Cycle street light (modified of course) and the newspaper dispenser. Real original, I know. I love seeing these other ideas. Great work everyone!

April 13, 201212 yr And a (defaced) election poster, a bench and filled trashcan - and adding some scenes like a police action is good to liven things up: wow... ThE bank is really AWESOME, @cimddwc
April 15, 201212 yr Sorry, 1974, that's not true. TDC actually wanted the phonebooths to be red, and in some places they actually were, as can be seen from this link http://www.fotojesper.dk/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=765. But they were also dark blue and green, depending on the colour of the street furniture in the town/city. /laka OT!: -> Tiger, we don't have red phonebooths here in DK - that's the UK And TDC is dismantling the rest, everybody have cell/mobilephones here now. April 16, 201212 yr Here are some pics of a radar trap I've made a while back: And a modified traffic light, which is based on the regular ones from TLC: With a traffic sign add-on: A simple charging station for EVs: A little area for recreation and a different street light:
April 16, 201212 yr Nice designs Farnheim. Can we happen to see more pictures of your town. Agreed. He should create a separate topic for his town.
