Waterbrick Down Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Boomingham's words seem to have a profound effect upon the creature. "You seem. Like a. Reasonable. Individual. Yes Mr. Szalinski. Consulted us. On the. Science. Behind. The machine. For many. Months. This. Demonstration. Was to. Be the. Culmination. Of our. Work. But it. Would. Seem someone. Might have. Had. Different. Plans. I. Believe you. Already know. Our names. I. Am. Doctor Fahad. And. This is. My. Wife. Doctor Falish. We are. From. Carthago and. Have sailed. Many. Weeks to. Get. Here." The Lucustoid lowers his hand from his side and his wife seems less nervous now.
Scorpiox Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 "Thank you Lawrence. It is a pleasure to meet you both, I am Haldor the Nord, these are my friends Bartholemew, Lawrence, Nur and of course the lovely Jess. We are trying to discover the reasons behind the machine's malfuntion, and who may have deliberatly caused it. What do you know of the other investors? Did any of them ever have disagreements with Szalinski?"
Waterbrick Down Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 "We. Do not. Know. Much. About. Others. We mainly. All interact. With. Szalinski. On. An individual. Basis. We do. Not no. Why he. Brought. Along. A magic. Channeler. On such. A. Controversial. Issue. The Busy. Man. With. All. The cloaks. Always. Seemed. To be. In a. Hurry. As to. The Fish. Faced. Man. We. Have. Had no. Interaction. With his. Kind. Before. And cannot. Say. His. Intentions. The horned. Man. Is always. Talking. About. Money. And intrest. When. We. See him."
Zepher Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 "Well, that's helpful. A few more questions, if you don't mind. Who, if anyone do you think would have the motive to sabotage the machine. Likewise, who had the means. The magic user told us that he, Szalinski, or you two were with the machine from the time that it was set-up until the time that it was started. Someone sabotaged it in that amount of time, so you can see why that paints a nice red target on your heads, among others. Tell us who you think could have and would have done it, if you don't mind, just so we can be sure it wasn't you two lovely chaps... or rather, chap and chappess."
Waterbrick Down Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 "Our only. Thought. Is that. It might. Be. Someone. Who disagrees. With the. Technology. Or. Someone. Who has. Something to. Gain. Monitarily. Speaking. Yes. We were. There. Almost. All of. The. Time. During. The setup. Before. The Demonstration. We admit. It. Would. Not be. Hard. To damage. The machine. It is. Very fragile. A severed. Fuel. Cord. Or a. Loose. Gear. All. It would. Take is. A little. Kick. As. To. Our suspicions. We are. From. Another. Land and. Are. Not. The best. Judges. Of Character. We don't. Trust. The magic. User."
Zepher Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Boomingham nodded, and turned to his party mates. "Maybe one of you who is quicker and leaner than I could poke your head in the room really quickly and see if you can see anything worth seeing. Then we'll move on to one of the others," he whispers before turning back to the doctors. "Doctor Falish, would you like to add anything? I'm afraid we've let your husband do all the talking!"
Scorpiox Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 "Why is it that you don't trust Mister Bluehood? Has he ever done anything bad? Also, do you think that the family Ziegfried would could have destroyed the machine because of what it could have provided? Thank you Mister. And as Lawrence said, have you anything to add Misses?"
Waterbrick Down Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 "I am. Afraid. My wife. Does. Not. Speak the. Human tongue. No we. Do. Not. Trust. Magic users. They. All. Stubborn. And Backwards. Thinking. We and. Szalinski. Could have. Done. Just. Fine without. His help."
Sisco Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Jess nodded to Boomingham, then slipped to the unexplored room to see what was there.
Brickdoctor Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Jess nodded to Boomingham, then slipped to the unexplored room to see what was there. OoC: I believe Zeph was referring to the doctors' room.I follow Jess into the room marked "4".
Waterbrick Down Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 Jess and Bartholomew walk over to room 4 leaving the others with the Lucustoids. Jess finds the door unlocked and wedges it open. What would Jess and Bartholomew like to do?
Sisco Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 "Looks like a janitor's closet," Jess observes. Jess then looked in the chest and barrels for any goods or gold.
Brickdoctor Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Being careful to watch where I step, I search the crate in the corner and sniff the mug and bottle to see if they contain any liquid and try to determine what they hold or might have held.
Waterbrick Down Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 In her haste to reach the crates, Jess does not watch her footing and breaks through the weak floor boards falling straight to the first floor with a crash. Docken is a little more careful, but the noise seems to have woken other occupants of the room as a hoard of rats stream from the nooks and crannies of the closet and head straight for Docken. Zepher Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 "Excuse me, sir, madam, but my friends seem to have discovered something that we need to deal with," says Boomingham before bowing deeply and hurrying towards Room 4.
Jebediahs Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 En Sabah Nur had becomed annoyed by the bug-like creature's slow speech pattern and their alien appearance made him uncomfortable but he had struggled to not let it show. Thankful for the interruption, he quickly made his way towards the sound.
Scorpiox Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Haldor turned at the sound."Jess, are you hurt?" Cried Haldor, with a worried tone. He apologised to the Doctors, and quickly stumbled accross floorboards into the back-room. Haldor carefully tripped his way toward a defensivly stanced Bartholemew."Well this is great, I'll try and get myself over there. Hold on there Jess!"
Brickdoctor Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 "Hurrah! I am invulnerable!" With my shield in front of me and my Dread Hat prominently displayed on my head, I calmly step back and fire my Mockthril Longbow at Big Rat A from the Back Row.

Docken unafraid, faces down the oncoming hoard. He smoothly draws an arrow, but his shot is cut short as his target scurries out of view, terrified of the Warden. Jebediahs Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 En Sabah Nur reached the room and was shocked by the number of rats circling Docken yet not advancing upon him. "I thought this establishment prided itself on cleanliness? Let's see if I can wash things up with a water spell from the back row." Nur unleashed his spell at Rat E.
