Zepher Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 "Haldor. Do not make deals with Helvetia. These creatures are unheavenly. You must not give in to them." "I'm afraid I've got to agree with Barty here," says Boomingham, drawing his sword. "There will be no blood sucking today, thank you. I am used to killing scum. I know you don't negotiate. Orcs, Ogres, Dark Mages... Vampires. There is no hope for you. Prepare for your demise. On your wedding day... that is a little sad. I'm sorry."
Brickdoctor Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Seeing that the decision seems to have been made by Lawrence and Haldor, I cross my fingers and hope that this has something to do with the goal of our quest.
Scorpiox Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Haldor shoved Boomingham back."No! You know nothing about this. Leave this to those who understand! You must not attack them! I cannot allow it." Haldor makes sure that Lawrence doesn't get close, while reaching for his weapon.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 "The price on the man's head is 150 Gold, quite a lot for someone vho only rigged an archery contest. If you will pay us the bounty, my husband and I vill be satisfied vith your blood and ve vill spare you, but be varned you vill bear a curse for a short time."
Scorpiox Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 "I will give my blood. Wartan wills it. I can bear the curse, I have waited my whole life to meet one like you since I first read the Nordic scripts. I have read much of you, the Gods speak to me of you. I will give my blood. But my warning still stands, a Norseman cannot hurt you, but my friends have no such reservations."
Brickdoctor Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I turn to the other heroes. "Oh, terrific. So the archery tournament was rigged. Don't know how, but that explains how Nur managed to Miss so many times. "It doesn't look like this applies to our quest, though."
Waterbrick Down Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 (edited) "I am aware of this fact, my vife speaks vith haste. Ve will be satiated vith 100 gold and your blood, is this agreeable?" Edited May 9, 2012 by Waterbrick Down
Zepher Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Boomingham stared coldly at the Norseman who he had grown to respect over the Quest. His respect was draining away. "Stop him, Lawrence, stop him. You must stop him. I do not permit you to allow this to happen. YOU MUST STOP THIS!" Boomingham turns his back on the Norseman. "I can't do anything. He's an independent human, Barty. Let him suffer if he wants to suffer." Boomingham glances at Jess in hopes she may prevent her love from making this mistake, but she remains as silent as she always is. "I am ready to proceed as soon as Haldor finishes his business here, Master Docken."
Scorpiox Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 "Don't look at me that way Lawrence. No-one has to die. Is anyone going to help money-wise? Or am I on my own? Comrades, I can't hurt these people, I can't tell you why. If you think that I am scum for doing this, then suggest something else. Maybe I will tell you one day. Jess, don't hate me."
Jebediahs Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Nur's look of digust faded. He lowered his eyes and shook his head. "You're gonna have to ask your elf for assistance. I refuse to be a part of this." The mage wondered exactly what the shaman training had done to his friend.
Scorpiox Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Haldor suddenly turned angry and glared at the party. "Why?! Why do you look at me as though I am the one who drinks the life of others?! What have I ever done?! It is them! They are the ones doing this! What the hell have I done that warrents such venom!?!" Haldor spat the last words out as though they carried a bad taste. He was infuriated. Lawrence acted as though he was dirt, his great friend Nur was acting so coldly. Bartholemew treated him with an irritating indifference, and Jess, she said nothing. Haldor just wanted to try and make everything all right, but the others acted as though it was him who was the blood-sucker. Haldor slumped against the wall and hid his head in his hands. The tall Norseman spoke softly now, and there were tears in his eyes. "I can't hurt these people. It is forbidden. I know what they are, and as a Nord I cannot dishonour them. Please, forgive me."
Waterbrick Down Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) QM Note: The party has three options, thet may let the couple go on their way, they may attempt to stop the couple through physical force, or they may accept Haldor's offer requiring 100 Gold and reducing Haldor's blood and ether to 1 as well as instilling the Cursed effect. Edited May 10, 2012 by Waterbrick Down
Brickdoctor Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 "I am in favor of letting them go about their business." OoC: This is a statement to the rest of the party, not a Party Leader's final decision.
Zepher Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 OoC: I'm trying to let Haldor have this, but Sisco hasn't been online and no one else has the character motivation to loan him gold... hell, I'd probably break character at this point if I had the gold... can we just assume Sisco would loan him the gold? I know that's a big step, but if he pays Sisco back... in battles it's the 24 hours mark. Not trying to be pushy, just offering alternatives!
Brickdoctor Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 OoC: Scorpiox, is this just roleplaying, or do you actually think it'll help us in the quest?
Scorpiox Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 It started as just roleplay, but I didn't expect WBD would allow it. I guess we should just let them go as Haldor being bled only hinders our quest. I can easily roleplay Haldor breaking down or something.
Zepher Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 OoC: Here, I'll help move things along. Scorpiox, you get to keep Haldor's morals, and we move forward. Hope we can win this... "Alright, screw it," mutters Boomingham. He swivels quickly and walks over to Haldor. "Sorry, I'll patch you up later," Boomingham whispers before punching Haldor in the face. Perhaps it is the meaty hands, or the general's once great strength, or the surprise, but the barbarian drops. Boomingham turns to the Vampires. "Sorry, chap, chapette. Honeymoon is over before it started." Boomingham draws his Frozen Sabre. "Let's dance!"
Waterbrick Down Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) "You are not very wise for one who seems so advanced in years sir knight. Boomingham tosses his sword from hand to hand and laughs manically. He has gone far too many hours without sleep. "Come on, Nur. Don't apologize. We've committed. When you've committed to something, you stick to it. A man must have his conviction. Come on now, little gal, I think it's our turn to waltz.
