Waterbrick Down Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 The elf stands up from his desk and walks over to join some of the heroes at the manuscript. Pausing at the parchment for a moment he squints at the columns before pardoning himself as he removes the sheet and walks back over to his desk.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 "Now then, I'm afraid I have a meeting fairly soon with another client, so if you need any numbers or other information you may ask my other associates." The Minotaur nods toward the Elf and U'kin before walking towards an adjoining office where the door is closed behind him by a dwarf.
Zepher Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 "Alright then... I guess that's all that we can do here? Does anyone have any questions for either of the others? Or shall we make our way to our final stop? The only thing that raises any red flags so far for me is Gurnam's investing buddy, but there seems to be next to no way to track them. The payments have no doubt stopped now that the invention has gone sky high. Besides, funding something secretly to blow it up secretly? I can't really figure out what the angle would be there, except maybe to prove that it wouldn't work? Sounds like a Mage's trick, to me."
Scorpiox Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) "We need to find out more about Gurnam's investor, hopefully more will be revealed later." Haldor makes his way over the Elf sitting at the desk and clears his throat. "Excuse me fellow. Since Mister Swifthorn is now away, is there anything relating to his opinions or views on the machine that you may have overheard that he didn't share with us? Please tell anything you know, a good Gnome nearly died and we have to track down the one responsible. Have you seen anything that could help?" Haldor then stepped back and clutched at his head, as though feeling an unknown pain. He rested his arm on Jess, before righting himself to hear the Elf's response. "When you've answered our questions, is it possible that we could have a glance at these wares for sale to see anything that could aid us?" Edited May 22, 2012 by Scorpiox
Waterbrick Down Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 "Actaully we don't sell anything here, if you're interested in a distraction you can talk to my partner over there, he's always dying for a chance to play some Triple Magic with someone. As far as other information, I do have a brief recollection of someone stopping in about wanting to borrow some funds towards a scientific endeavor, or another. Unfortunately my desk is a mess, if you want to help me organize it I might be able to find that name." What would the party like to do?
Sisco Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 "Triple Magic? Hm..." Jess drifted over to see what Triple Magic was.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) Jess wanders over to the U'Kin who looks up and smiles. "Hello mam, I am U'Toolen and I bid you hello. You seem like a lady with some money to spare which is what you seem to me. Are you familier with the rules of Triple Magic which you may or may not be familier with. Allow me to elaborate which I will now do. ~ The betting board contains six squares, each assigned with a different colour but referred to as their corresponding elements which are represented by the six squares on the betting board. Fire Water Wind Earth Light Darkness ~ Each player places the desired amount of gold on the element or elements they wish to bet on which is where they place their bet. ~ Three coloured dice are then thrown. ~ The player wins or loses their bet depending on which colours the three dice shows which determines if the player wins or loses gold. ~ If the colour the player bets on turns out once in the dice, the player will get their gold back because it only turned out once. ~ If the colour shows up twice, the player will win double the amount of bet, and if all three dice show the same colour that the player bet on, triple the amount which happens when the colour shows up twice or three times respectively. ~ If none of the dice show the colour that the player bet on, they lose their gold because the colour did not show up. Do you have any questions that I can answer because it is pretty straight forward unless I have to answer your questions." Edited May 23, 2012 by Waterbrick Down
Waterbrick Down Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 "Do any of your colleages wish to play or are they going to help Brigbrand sort through his paper mess?"
Jebediahs Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 "Unfortunately my desk is a mess, if you want to help me organize it I might be able to find that name." "Let me assist you if I may." Nur's eyes widened a little as he passed the elf. "I just can not get over the size of that hair, Jess. With a portable bush on your head to hide in, I can see why it's easy for you to sneak up on your targets. Good luck in your game of chance."
Zepher Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Boomingham flicks a twittering Barty away. He crashes into Nur. "Help Nur clean the desk, little one. Lord Boomingham, King of the Desert, Slayer of Orcs, Master of the Dead Kingdom, would like to play some triple magic." Boomingham saunters over to the table. "Sixteen gold on Wind, if you please," says Boomingham, tosses his gold onto the table.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) "Thank you sir, the trouble is I have all these files. I've got 3 folders eachadornedd with either a ship, a lightning bolt, or a shield. As you can see I have 6 documents here, Mr. Swifthorn invested in a magical filing system a few years back so that nothing ever got put in the wrong place. Each folder holds 2 documents but I can't remember which ones belong where and as I said the system only allows certain combinations. I'm sure once all these files are put in their proper place, that memo I mentioned will turn up." QM Note: There are 6 documents: Tan, Black, Royal Blue, Earth Blue, Grey, and Red. There are also 3 folders: Ship, Lightning Bolt, and Shield. Each folder will hold only 2 documents. Please try only one solution at a time and I will answer as quickly as possible. Jess cast Nur a quick smile as she went to her game of chance. "All I did was take my helmet off, Nur..."
Brickdoctor Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 "I'll pass on Triple Magic." I look at the papers and try putting the Royal Blue and Earth Blue papers in the Ship folder, the Tan and Grey papers in the Lightning Bolt folder, and the Red and Black papers in the Shield folder.
Zepher Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) "Seems like just a guessing game, doesn't it?" observed Barty haughtily. "I don't believe in luck. Everything happens for a reason. If you get it right, I'll be very impressed Docken. Means someone up there likes you." Edited May 23, 2012 by Zepher
Waterbrick Down Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 The files fly out of their folders, some landing upon the desk others the chair next to it.

How else can one explain the good fortune of those you dislike?" Scorpiox Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Haldor was shocked as Jess' large quantity of black hair, seriously, he was even more surprised than Nur. Even so, she had kept her helmet on the entire time he's been with her, even when... Such thoughts were banished as Haldor began to help-out Nur in the sorting of files. Shuffle shuffle. "Royal Blue and Earth blue to Lightning Bolt, Grey and Red folders to the Shield, and Tan and Black documents to the Ship folder. How's that?"
Waterbrick Down Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 With Jess and Boomingham having money on the board, the U'Kin rolls the dice. Roll 1: Darkness Roll 2: Light Roll 3: Light "Sorry sir, but the luck is with the lady tonight but for you I am still sorry." Boomingham loses 16 Gold while Jess neither wins nor loses any gold. Jebediahs Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 "Hey, did you all see that? Those two have adhered to each other." *shuffle*shuffle* Earth Blue and Black papers - Shield folder Red papers and Grey papers - Ship folder Tan and Royal Blue papers - Lightning Bolt folder
Waterbrick Down Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 Nur attempts once more to organize the files, this time the earth blue and black documents remain in their folder while the others again fly out upon the floor and the desk.
Zepher Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Boomingham walks over and winks at Nur. "Ten gold pieces says I figure it out before you," he chuckles. Royal Blue papers and Grey papers - Ship folder Tan and Red papers - Lightning Bolt folder

Brickdoctor Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I place the Tan and Royal Blue papers in the Ship folder and the Red and Grey papers in the Lightning Bolt folder.
