Brickdoctor Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 "Good to have you back, Nur. We need to minimize the chances of Free Hits in the next Round. Concentrate on the enemies with the least Health." I attack the Werewolf Thug (Bow) from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. Order of Actions: Bartholomew Docken Jess Islanti En Sabah Nur Lord Lawrence Boomingham Haldor Skovgaard
Zepher Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 "How many werewolves do you figure there can possibly be? Are they crawling around the sewers. I've faced worse odds than this before. In the war, I took two young rascals into the field on a little training mission. They were just about eighteen. We ran into this Orc detachment, and I asked the lads if they wanted to take them on. They said yes, and we ambushed those green-skins. 'Course, turns out that the four green-skins had twenty green-skins in the near-by area. We fought our way out, killed them all dead. The two lads were stabbed, I had to carry one out on my back. Left the other one behind... sometimes you just lose folk, I guess." Boomingham yawns magnificently and takes out his flask, taking a long sip. "No one to reprimand me anymore. Nur, how are you? Did you have a fun adventure? Get any information that we may need?" Boomingham twirls his sword. "If you didn't... well, I shan't be pleased. Tell me you have good news, chappo. Also, a magic burst would be much appreciated right now." He turns to face his opponents. "Are you still here? Alright, alright. You, sir, are spreading lies about one of my friends. Barty is anything but pretty." Boomingham swings at Werewolf Thug (Pike) from the front row.
Jebediahs Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Nur rushed back to his party, a little worse for wear. "Forgive my absence. Yesterday, I thought I overheard Ergthew say he was a sailor and had a friend coming to port sometime today. The time we spent arguing with the gang members was possibly giving Ergthew more time to escape, by ship perhaps." He shrugged. "The Wolfgang member was unable to assist us in our search for Ergthew and Natnail." Nur took a moment to fire an earth spell at Werewolf Thug (Axe) from the back row. "He did help me out when I was jumped by three from that one's gang." He pointed towards the Metasimian. "The only information he could provide was that Ergthew is a serious professional panhandler here in Eubric and we'll be hard pressed to find him. Not saying we should give up the search but it could prove too difficult to find him with his many criminal connections and hiding places. The Wolfgang Sneak did tell me to express his thanks to you all for healing him and lettin' him escape. He gave me these: 2x Emerald Lamp of Summoning He wanted you, Boomingham to have one for the gold you lost. I used the aquamarine one meself and it produced amazing results. Be advised that it's a one time use item." En Sabah Nur heard the approach of more Blood Paws. "I hadn't realized how far in Blood Paw territory we were. We may need to heed the apeman's warning and get out of here with a smoke bomb."
Scorpiox Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 "Nur! Well we could damn well use you right now. Get in there and do what you do best." Haldor seemed to brighten at his friend's return, maybe he could help. But she was still crying, not a word she said to him, nor close did she stand. It tore Haldor's insides to see her like that, and he was the one responisble. His mind flashed black, and Werewolf Thug(Club) was before him. The rod, still matted with hair and blood, swung again on a new foe.
Zepher Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 (edited) Boomingham dabs his forehead with his customary sweat-drenched handkerchief. "A smoke bomb may not be that bad of an idea... part of bravery is being brave enough to give up. We've got our information, let's hit the road and go see that final investor. Nur, Docken, if either of you would be so kind." Edited June 9, 2012 by Zepher
Brickdoctor Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 "A valid point, Lord Boomingham. Even if we win this battle, we'd probably do so having used up multiple consumables and a good deal of Ether." I reach into a pouch on my belt and extract a Smoke Bomb. "Are there any objections?"
Scorpiox Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 "First, let us see what this round brings. If we are beaten back, then I would feel no shame in withdrawing. But the Gods might bring us a favourable result, we should fight this round first." Haldor continued relentlessly beating down upon his foe while he spoke. The Nord was venting his sorrow into strength, raining blow upon blow with the rage of Wartan himself.
Sisco Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 "I think you're all forgetting that I can flee and save us if the rest of you lot lose. I think that I should run and the rest of you stay here to fight it out."
Scorpiox Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Haldor turned, his face a mixture of rage and deep sadness. He spoke breathlessly between blows onto the werewolf stood below him. "Jess...Please...If...you still... love me...please stay... if this goes... badly... we will all... flee next round. If you still... care... stay... with me... Jess." The Norseman looked as though he could weep, his eyes shining blue, appealing to Jess to stay with him.
Sisco Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Jess turned at the sound of Haldor's voice. Her gaze softened as she listened. "Haldor... I can't take another hit by one of those blokes... But... Alright. I'll fight by your side again. We'll have to talk later, though." Jess then turned and attacked the thug with the crossbow twice from the front row.
Zepher Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 "Well, that's just lovely and I'm feeling just dandy about everything in my heart, but they're going to keep coming no matter what we do. Docken, make the right choice as a leader and get us out of here."
Brickdoctor Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 "Miss Islanti, realize that if you Flee, the only way for us to avoid using a Smoke Bomb anyways would be for us to battle it out until we are Knocked Out. That would result in the need for Lord Boomingham and Haldor to expend much more Ether in order to restore our Health. Better for us just to use the Smoke Bomb and save the time, effort, and Ether."
Brickdoctor Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I cock my arm and toss a Smoke Bomb into the middle of the Blood Paw ranks.
Waterbrick Down Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 QM Note: I just returned from a convention, so I will update in the next 24 hours when I get to my computer.

Edited June 10, 2012 by Waterbrick Down
Jebediahs Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Nur was extremely tired. He had sprinted after the Wolfganger, was assaulted from above by Metasimians which he'd barely defeated, then sprinted back to his comrades only to run to safety again. In between breaths he handed an Emerald Lamp of Summoning to Boomingham and the other to Haldor. "Here. I don't know if they work the same as the Aquamarine Lamp I had, but feel free to use my magnifying glass to read the tiny instructions." He looked to the rooftops to make sure the sky wasn't raining any more monkeys. "Are we giving up on finding Natnail and Ergthew and proceeding to the location?"
Zepher Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Boomingham dabs his forehead more. "I think it is time that we continue on to our final investor and figure this out. We need something to show for our work," he says sullenly and sheaths his blade. "Best go quickly, before they sniff us out." OoC: Please keep sentinel around! It was a perfect solution.
Brickdoctor Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 "Yes, let's get going." I lead the party to Swisshopper Cloaks and Fineries.
Scorpiox Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) Haldor thanks Nur for the mysterious lamp, which he stows in his satchel. The Nord then turns and whispers a few quiet words. Bright blue energy seeps over each of his friends and also over Haldor himself, they are healed at total cost of 5 ether. "Is everybody well now? Hopefully we will actually learn something useful soon. I'm tired of all this, it is just so warped. A 'free' city, where innocent people are attacked and robbed, where crime is spread like a foul afliction. This city is just as much a cesspit as any other, 'freeport', the mud on my boot. Well I'll be damned if I can't make some sort of difference to all this. Sorting this mystery is one step to righting things in this dead-end place." Haldor turned away as the heroes crossed the city out to Swisshopper's shop. He purposely walked closer to Jess, hoping that she would say something to ease his mind, to help him right the wrongs. My power is 30, thanks to the spiked coller. Edited June 11, 2012 by Scorpiox

Brickdoctor Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 "Good day, Master Swisshopper. I am Bartholomew Docken, a Warden of Heroica, and my fellow heroes are Miss Jess Islanti, Master Haldor Skovgaard, Master En Sabah Nur, and Lord Lawrence Boomingham. We were tasked with asking you about your involvement in the latest invention of Master Szalinski and Master Bluehood."
Waterbrick Down Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 "We do quite a few things, tailoring, new cloaks, tabards, and a multitude of other textile goods. I'm not Swisshopper I'm afraid, you'll find the boss in the front of the shop."
Zepher Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) "Alright, I vote that Nur and Haldor and Jess talk to these common workers and try to see if they don't know anything. I think, if we figure out anything, it will be from these fellows. Swisshopper, if he's been up to anything, would keep a tight lip on it, while these fellows might spill the beans assumin' it doesn't concern them. Docken and I can head up to the front of the shop and see if we can't find anything out." Boomingham glanced around nervously. He then quickly pulled Haldor aside. "Look, you're a big god lover, right? What do you think the deal with angels is? Do you think they can be killed? I sort of thought the poor little guy could take it. I'm just asking because if there are gods, they might have a bit of wrath raining down on me for taking Barty out. Not that he didn't get what was coming to him... of course, losing the fellow is a pain too. I hated it when he talked, but I think he had a link or something with me, you know? He could at least whisper to people further than I could. Pah." Edited June 13, 2012 by Zepher
