Jebediahs Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 OoC: LOL Om nom nom! While Haldor and Jess kept the beast distracted, Nur retreated to a section of the room that was removed from the chaos. He pulled out his Scroll of Sealing and hoped he pronounced the words clearly enough for it to take effect on the Enchanted Bear Skin Rug. OoC: I'm only trying it for one round so if it doesn't work then it's game on with the om nom nom! I'd also like to attack from the back with a spell if first sealing somehow hits if that is allowed.
Brickdoctor Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 "How much worse can my luck get?" I mumble to myself. Slightly wary of the rug that has done such damage to the party already, I attack the Enchanted Bear Skin Rug from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. Order of Actions: Jess Islanti Bartholomew Docken En Sabah Nur Lord Lawrence Boomingham Haldor Skovgaard
Waterbrick Down Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 QM Note: I forgot last turn that Bartholomew shouldn't have been able to act because he was being pulled out, which then effects the special on himself and then Haldor among a slew of other things. As Docken was also being revived last round, I'm going to let it slide, though Haldor will not be able to attack on the same round he is being pulled out based upon the rules of the special from now on. I'd also like to attack from the back with a spell if first sealing somehow hits if that is allowed.[/small][/color] Yup, it's allowed since you're hastened
Zepher Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Boomingham hefts his sword. "You're going in my inn room," Boomingham tells the rug as he swings at it, same weapon, same row. "Nur, if you wouldn't mind attacking this round when you can't be hurt, and sealing next round, where a miss won't result in damage to yourself, I think that would be optimal. Right, chappo?"
Jebediahs Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Nur doesn't hear Boomingham's words. OoC: With two swallowed, Nur would immediately seek to silence the enemy. After experiencing Boomingham's prowess with the shield, he's reluctant to trust it. If we'd wanted "optimal" Nur wouldn't be the only one using consumables this quest. My action is in. Next Round!

Brickdoctor Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Smiling to myself with satisfaction as Jess pulls Haldor out of the rug and Nur Confuses and Seals it, I quickly turn my attention back to the rug which I continue to cautiously back away from. With practiced ease, as I back away to the Back Row, I nock an arrow on my Briar Bow and fire at the Enchanted Bear Skin Rug.
Zepher Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 "Look at that Nur. Good thing you didn't listen to a word I said!" Boomingham bellows with laughter. "No reason to not go again. Everyone feeling good? Good." Boomingham continues his attack.

Jebediahs Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Nur's nostrils flared at the singed fur. He spoke slower to compensate for the hastening effect. "Nice strike old man." The mage grinned a shaky smile. He was thankful the veteran warrior had gone so easy on him in the arena. "I will attack Enchanted Bear Skin Rug from the back row with earth spells!"

Boomingham advances for a second thrust but is forced to back away as the bear swings its paws wildly around, tearing at its own eyes and mouth in its confused state. Nur with a grin on his face continues to pelt the pelt with deadly earthen spells as bricks and stones fly hither and thither accosting the rug in a deluge of gravel. Nur lucky as ever continues to pour earthen magic down upon the beast as it steadily begins losing its strength. Jess with disregard for her own safety attempts to finish off the beast with one fell assassinating blow, but misjudges the beast in its confusion and is thrown by its thrashing paws against the side of the room where she lays knocked out. Brickdoctor Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I mentally kick myself for not training to be a Druid, as I can't revive Jess. Boomingham looks calmly from the body to Docken, then at the body, then at Nur, and finally at Haldor. "What do you think, Norseman? Will you be getting her up?" "NO MAN LEFT BEHIND, LAWRENCE! Remember you have a duty to Ennoc." howls Barty. "You don't understand combat at all, my little friend." Boomingham swings at the Bear Rug with the same weapon, same row. "Sometimes you just need to power through and hope for the best. Life is that way too." "How beautiful," Barty says dryly.
Jebediahs Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 The rug struggled against the furniture on top of it as it tried to reach the heroes who had regrouped for a moment over its fallen member. "She said she'd found a vulnerable spot in our adversary that none of us had spotted. Must be those keen elven eyes. We'll continue to distract it to give you time, Haldor." Leaving Haldor to tend to his elf, Nur followed the veteran fighters back to the rug where he prepared to throw more earth spells at it from the back row.
Scorpiox Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 (edited) "Jess! Arrgh! I'll get you for that, filthy rug. Haldor kicks the nearest heavy object at the rug, then hurries over to the injured Jess and cracks his Pheonix Esscence on the wall. Haldor kneels down and revives Jess with a fraught look on his face."Jess! Speak! Haldor shakes Jess gently, but there was no sign of movement, she had been badly hit. Haldor glared at the rug, before muttering 'nothing for it'. The Norseman kissed Jess on the lips, hoping this would wake her... Edited April 19, 2012 by Scorpiox
Sisco Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Jess awoke to the touch of Haldor's lips. Smiling, she rose up; then realized where she was. Shaking herself of her daze, Jess roared in anger and leaped toward the beastly rug. Jess will attack the rug from the front row.

The pause gives Nur enough time to fire off another earthen spell at the beast further lowering its stamina. At Haldor's kiss, Jess slowly opens her eyes revived and at full strength. Boomingham understanding that the bear is beginning to regain consciousness also lands a mighty blow across the beasts muzzle. Nur is quickly running out of ammunition with which to pelt the rug and ponders upon the structural integrity of the building but not before releasing two more earthen spells which rain stone down upon the rug's back. Coughing from the dust and rubble flying through the air, Haldor and Jess are unable to land hits upon the bear in time, before it shakes its head from the gravel and debris letting forth a primordial roar. THE BATTLE CONTINUES! The Enemy: Enchanted Bear Skin Rug Type: Beast Level: 20 Health: 356/1250 Defense: 2 Special: I. Maw of the Beast- The enchanted rug actually swallows its attacker. The Party member will remain there until the rug is defeated or another party member pulls them free, sacrificing both of their own turns to do so. Up to 3 members can be swallowed at a time. Swallowed players may not attack/heal while swallowed. However, swallowed players will take half the damage received by the rug while they are Swallowed (i.e. rug takes 30 damage, swallowed player(s) will take 15 damage). II. All of you, choose your targets and the row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone have acted. QM Note: This was a long round so do your best to ensure that something wasn't missed, if you want me to go back and change one of the rounds I can do so, if you think it is battle altering, but given the remaining health of the rug, I don't think there should be any problems. Brickdoctor Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 OoC: MegaBloks, Nur is awesome! My Aura doubles my current Health regardless of max HP, so for the next Round, my Health should be 78/39. Also, since I'll be taking all the Damage, I'm okay if you want to auto-play the next Round. Though I'm sure you're tired of rolling dice and calculating Damage right now. Seeing the bear preparing to attack again, I allow my chivalric instincts to take over and prepare to absorb all Damage directed at the party. Crouching low behind my shield as I do this, I draw back my Briar Bow as best I can in my defensive posture from the Back Row and fire at the Enchanted Bear Skin Rug.
Zepher Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 "Lets finish this monster," Boomingham says as he continues his attack.
Sisco Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Jess grunted in frustration at the beast as she tried to get a sword in edgewise. "Damn beast... If I could just get in right behind its head..." Jess mumbled to herself, shifting Blodhurm from right to left hand and back again as she prepared herself for another attack. Same actions
