My John Lewis put their box out this morning - picked up the boxer, weightlifter & gymnast.

The hair pieces look so nice in the pictures.

It's nice to see they're fondly doing the hair/hat combo. Good move TLG! Now you need to integrate it into all themes.

What a shame they put printing on the white baseplate. Those could've been useful for other things (other minifigures, MOCs, etc.), but with that printing they're pretty useless.

You can remove print with brasso. Not that hard. :)

It has been decided, I need to work on getting these over here. That head/ helmet combination, and the G.B. logos are great!

Favourite of the bunch has to be the boxer, followed by the equestrian (who's going to look great on a horse).

Nice to see the archer has an 'aiming' one-eye-closed face which is going to come in handy for the Hawkeye figure.

I bought two sets today from WHSmiths in London Road, Brighton, East Sussex. Its a 50 mile drive from London so not really very practical for your friends. If I were you i'd get them to ring around their local stores and see who has them. Some of my local WHSmiths are not putting them on the shelves until sunday 1st, I got lucky with this store but others have found the same thing. If you want it, the store phone number is 01273 691626. They had one full box and another about a quarter full.

I guess they didn't get the memo about not selling them until July 1st.

I love the amount of uses these have! She could easily be a ninja harnessing the power of the lion against the samurai forces!

It took a little patience! Most are easy to identify from the accessories they come with. It does help to have a friendly shop assistant that doesn't mind somebody going through an entire box bag by bag! After seven sets of collectible minifigs, I do like to think i'm something of an expert in finding the figures I want!

how does that blonde hair fits with armor?

Found a short clip of all the Olympic minifigs.

Are these listed in the bricklink catalogue yet? I've been searching but I can't find a listing.

I managed to pick six up from WHSmiths Southampton today. The box was behind the counter but I asked if I could have the box to feel for the specific figures and he was absolutely fine with it. Then as I was exploring the packets another lad came along and started doing the same. He was looking for the boxer.

Before going to WHSmiths I went to John Lewis who didn't have any on display. When I asked if they were selling the figures yet the lady told me that LEGO had placed an embargo on them selling the figures before July 1st. This makes no sense as I'm sure I read on here somebody had bought some at John Lewis Liverpool. I find it frustrating.

I have yet to open them and see what I got. I managed to feel for five (I think - I'm still fairly new to it!) and then got bored so picked a 'wild card.' My aim is to collect the whole set though.
