The team GB minifigs are cool, but I think they have more gold medal accessories than needed

You know, it was just a joke about GB not winning a lot of gold medals in the olympics and so the minifigs with gold medals weren't really realistics :sweet:

Rather unneccessary attempt at a joke. I'd say GB are doing pretty well and it's realistic enough. Certainly beating France, where you appear to come from and I'm willing to bet it stays that way.

Oooh, you got him there.

Will the figs still be available after the olympics? I asked it earlier, but I didn't get a reply.

My local Tesco in Poole is now selling them!

Had loads at lunchtime today. Don't know how long they will last. So check your local large Tesco!

I know! Some people find it worth it, though. :sceptic:

EDIT: Does anybody think they could post a review on these?

There'll be one soon.

Hey, I'm not complaining. It's a relatively new piece, only having been previously included with the S7 Swimmer. It has a lot of potential applications.

Of course, I do have 60+ of them now...

It is exactly what I am thinking! These medals are a niew piece and they will certainly get detailled in further sets, well I hope. For sure we can complain that for the Olympic minifigs they could have done a "Olympic medal" but I believe that the fact there is a special serie is already something big.

I think my mother-in-law enjoys tormenting me!

My wife is from England and I asked her mum to get me some GB minifigs. Got a box in the mail today The custom label showed Lego as well as some other goodies but as it was addressed to my wife (and I know she enjoys opening something besides bills!) I let her open. As she unpacked the bag I could see a yellow Lego bag and got excited but when we opened it, There was two familiar shaped package stacked about four or five high but they were wrapped in gift wrap and had my kids name on them!

His birthday is in about a week or so and now I have to see if he will let me play with his toy!

They missed a trick in not producing a Jessica Ennis minifig! :D

Ya why didn't TLG make the figs look semi like their counterparts? The tennis player could have had dark hair like Murray and that would have been really cool  or even have their names on either their backs or a placard in front in Ennis' case.

Because they obviously didn't intend them to be any one athlete. I'm sure they didn't want any issue/complaint with people 'not' getting their favorite Olympian. Case in point, no Ennis fig.

So far I have bought 6 and opened each packet to receive 6 different minifigures!

I don't want to buy any more in case I get duplicates, but would love the other three!

Today I came home to..... *gasp* my package with thesev in them! My thoughts below.

Archer: My personal favorite. Printing is spot-on, and he is great for parts too!

Boxer: He is OK, but I would have preferred a boxer who is less similar to the S5 Boxer. Even the face is significantly similar to the other. Also, I wish the helmet could have gone down all the way on his head.

Gymnast: The hair is fantastic to hasve in this color, and the printing of the lion is fantastic! Another amazing one of he group.

Judo Girl: Nicto have a companion to my Karate Master, as I am a martial artist. The printing (espescially on the back  ) is fantastic. Another favorite.

Tennis Player:  Well, at least it looks good-ish. But why anther, espescially sense this is out during the same time as S7, which also has a Tennis player.

Weightlifter: Not my favorite, but an amazing improvement on the S2 weightlifter. Espescially on the face.

Relay Runner: Reminds me of myself ( I did track also.). While it isn't the best of the group, it's another great addition.

Swimmer: A great additin. Nice to get the swim cap, and I love the water drop details.

Equestrian: Well, a very cheap way to get the Friends riding cap. This figure has geat everything, and I am prud to wkn it.

Overall, I am proud to own this unique piece of history. Below is my order if preference.

1. Archer

2. Judo Girl

3. Gymnast

4. Equestrian

5. Relay Runner

6. Swimmer

7. Boxer

8. Weightlifter

9. Tennis Player

Went out and bought the entire series, and I must say that I'm impressed with all the designs and moulds, especially the new rider cap and medal piece. Being extremely patriotic, I'm overjoyed to have the team in my collection. Great costumes all-round. :sweet:

How did you get them all?

Have you got lots of duplicates or a very good feel of the bags?

You know what I would have been really impressed by? If they had made the boxer female. Seeing as how it's the first time women's boxing has featured in the Olympics. I know Lego is rather traditional when it comes to gender roles but it would have been a nice commemoration.

I've known about these guys for a while now, but haven't considered purchasing them until recently. I'm in the US, so I would have to ship them from the UK. Are these figures really worth it?

Of course you have to have them! it is not every year that we have the olympics, much less one with Team GB printed.

Any tips for feeling out the archer? Bought a few of these at the weekend for the kids and wanted the archer myself as I do archery as a hobby. But it seems so difficult figuring out what the bits are in the bag, I didn't want to spend too much time fiddling with bags looking for the right ones.
