xenologer Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Woot! Finally available. and not a moment too soon, just last night I made a replica of 7770 using some of the "Old AquaRaiders" parts (a green version) :-D Going to place my order now at lunch break... Actually, some of those Protoype pics look kinda nicer than the final versions... 7771 proto has a bigger sub instead of a silly rock 7770 proto has a crab... which is more interesting to me than another treasure chest Quote
Hobbes Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Zane, bdd - KNOCK IT OFF! There's absolutely no need to make this thread personal. So keep it down or I'll close it >:-( Quote
snefroe Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Zane, bdd - KNOCK IT OFF!There's absolutely no need to make this thread personal. So keep it down or I'll close it >:-( i agree... calm down... don't take it so serious... sure, if this was about the new space sets, sure, but it's only about the AR sets... g... :-P anyway, since we already have the actual sets in a US shop, it's clearly a mistake by Lego. Don't tell me that's a too farfetched theory... :-| Quote
Zane Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Huh? I'm not doing anything wrong here.... 0_o Quote
The Executive Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Cool . New aqua raiders are out, but some of the smaller sets look different from the ones i saw. Quote
bdd Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 anyway, since we already have the actual sets in a US shop, it's clearly a mistake by Lego. Don't tell me that's a too farfetched theory... :-| You need to calm down. And for some people I think that is way too far fetched. I think they are redesigns!!! Quote
hewkii9 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Oh boo, I want the old ones. Anyway, I'll order Deep Sea Treasure Hunter. Both of it look good. Quote
alex54 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 :'-( Not available in France! But I saw the pics in the US section... And it's clear that the pics are pre-product ones... I just wait patiently the beginning of 2007 tu put my hands on them... Quote
sam89 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Oh boo, I want the old ones.Anyway, I'll order Deep Sea Treasure Hunter. Both of it look good. To clear things up, the sets on S@H at the moment will NOT be the sets sold. They're the prototype sets. Quote
dillthepill Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Yay! The Aquaraiders AND 2007 exo-force sets both go to America! I can't wait to order these. Quote
xenologer Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 To clear things up, the sets on S@H at the moment will NOT be the sets sold. They're the prototype sets. Remember to save copies of the Proto pics before they fix the webpage. Proto designs are always cool for reference... Quote
Clone comander Nodra 999 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I like the prototype angler fish set. It has those tentecles wich i plan on using to make a matrix sentinel model with. Another plus is the old Aquazone mask, definately brings back some memories. Only minus is the alpha team claw *n* and the yellow pants. I cant tell if the minifig is naked or not cause thier pants have the same color as their skin :-D . Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Geez guys, I can't believe you gave bdd such a hard time when he's the only authority on this matter. I mean why would an actual physical set be wrong, instead of some pictures on a site? :-P People sure are strange sometimes... Anyway, it figures, I'd really like to order them now, but I can wait a little longer ;-) Quote
xenologer Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 *reads description for the AquaBase Invasion set* "a giant squid is on the attack! With posable tentacles and a skeleton in its transparent belly, this sea monster will be tough for the Aquabase crew to beat." Thats actually pretty clever Basically the squid's body is made of those large curved windscreen pieces, and it has a skeleton in it's stomach. Reminds me of the old Ogel Mutant Squid AT set... tho in that case the stomach was the cockpit for a robot squid... Quote
Hinckley Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 And how does that saying go... "The easiest outcome is normally the correct one". What's easier... Ockam's[sp?] Razor: The simplest solution is usually the correct one. Quote
BenTheLegoManiac Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Ok people...I OWN the sets. Do any of you own them? I have seen the sets in the offical Lego Store. Have you seen them? Have you held the boxes? The sets are prototypes, they have messed up the pictures and the text before in set profiles. It's not that big of a deal, just realize the base is different and the two small sets look like what I have. BDD is right. I went to the lego store and bought the Big Blue Fish set. It's wierd to have prototypes appear after they have been sold in a store. *wacko* Quote
L'Exocet Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Ok, so they got the right AR pics on S@H now. But STILL no shipwreck... :'-( Quote
natelite Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 crap they changed it. did anyone save down the prototype pics? i like some of the preliminary designs. the base was certainly much better. it had a covered walkway to the landing pod. although the prelim sub was crap. as for the minifigs, i like the final version better than prelim version. the giant squid in the base set is also very nice. the base set looks decent enough to buy. will probably get it for my kid. :-P the harpoon turret is stupid though. why would you put it on top of the base? the other sets aren't really that appealing. btw, did anyone notice that the skeleton inside the squid was a previous AR member? it has the group's helmet. WesternOutlaw Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 This theme is actually pretty nice. I love yellow subs! And the base is very impressive. Lego did a nice job on these (regardless of the mix-up with photos). I was looking forward to the ship wreck set though, but overall, these look great. I wast just looking at 7774 Crab Crusher. The yellow sub measures 10.5 inches/26 cm. Finally, Lego offers us a large yellow adventure sub in mini-fig scale! The picture is rather deceiving as it looks much shorter. The price is a little high, but nice sub. I can't wait to see some pic reviews of these other sets. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea here I come! Quote
bdd Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Ok, so they got the right AR pics on S@H now. But STILL no shipwreck... :'-( Yeah for some reason the shipwreck is also not on the back of the box either. That leads me to believe it will be an exclusive later in the year. That's just a guess through. Quote
sam89 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 check out Count Blockula's box pics (front and back) here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/countblockula I've got to say, the base looks excellent! I love the hatch door and the interior! Quote
bdd Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Yeah the interior is nice, but I would have liked more blending with the prototype. The covered walkway is a great idea because what's the point of a normal walkway underwater? Plus the prototype also had a roof too the base, my main complaint with the set. I like the mini sub that goes down the covered ramp thing, never noticed it, very nice. He bought the big sub, I can't wait to see the inside. Quote
sam89 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 CB has updated his flickr gallery with pics of the Submarine/Crab set. It looks awesome, but unfortunately it contains stickers, not printed pieces. Quote
bdd Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 CB has updated his flickr gallery with pics of the Submarine/Crab set. It looks awesome, but unfortunately it contains stickers, not printed pieces. WOW! The inside is awesome! I thought Lego would just stick the guy in with a computer and a wrench / joystick thing. very nice. *Adds to list for when Lego Store has double stamps again.* Quote
