Tanma Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) IC: De'kra winces as the army emerges. It was going to be a bloodbath, that much was certain. OOC: now I realize you want quests to be failable, but are you sure this is possible to succeed in? New plan. Cronk will bash Lord Blackenord from front row. If Cronk hits, Blackenord will not get free hit anymore and friends can ignore until rest of enemies gone. Cronk was so looking forward to taking out Chimera guard in one hit, though... Quote
CMP Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 "I doubt he's gonna just stand there, Cronk, he's more likely to make a break for it to the throne room or somewhere. Then again, I'm sure Nyx'd love another crack at the bastard." Quote
Pandora Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Nyx's mind swims with the information relayed to her by Vipera, and thinks a soundless thanks for Vipera's efforts in all this. She sees the enemies, and their positions, and sees two particular faces that stoke the flames within. "U'vries! Blackenord! Your blood will be on my hands before this is through, mark my words you bastards!" she shouts to the Palace at large. Nyx once more tries to focus through the rising rage. She asks Vipera to allow her to converse with Skrall: "Skrall, what would you have me do? I heard you say you wish me to grab Phil and join Luke, but it seems that plan may have changed? I want to beat that Blackenord's face in for what he did to me, and stomp U'vries into the ground for what he did to U'stus, but I.... can control myself. Do you wish me to wait, or to move to fight? I could really do some damage against those two though, thanks to eating my Dragon Scale and my Amethyst and Topaz. However, I'm wary of leaving the Throne Room unattended." Quote

"I understand yer want fer revenge Ms. Nyx but I need you to move to the group toward the North of ya, I have a feelin' they're soon to be overwhelmed if we don't do somethin' fast." Skrall planted himself outside the door to Emeraldo's Study. "We need a distraction or somethin' to get those gaurds out here, Ms. Toboso, yer cloak might come in handy. You can dash in there, escape their blows due to that flashy cape yer wearin' and draw those troops back out here so the rest of us can deal with 'em." Quote

Fugazi Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Galen barely had time to accustom himself with the new and disturbing visions in his head that he noticed his team companions were gone. Hearing noise upstairs, he made it for the staircase, all the while wondering if it was a good idea to leave the entrance of Alandri's Wing unattended. Quote

Rumble Strike Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Am I still using Helbaerend as my Power has not changed? I only ask as it does double damage to mechanicals. Therefore my action is as follows: With a defiant roar, Tarn targets Chimera Guard A from the back row, knowing his axe would make up for the further away positioning. Quote
Chromeknight Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Nerwen nodded at the ranger, the metasimian and the weirdly grinning mage. Orang Pendak guide you. She said, addressing the rogue who had been leading one of the groups of heroes. If you think this will be all the attackers, we can move down toward the fighting. What do you think? While waiting for Thothwick's answer, Nerwen stands firm. Meanwhile on the other side of the palace, Denerii, granted vision by the dragonet, sees her nest mate in trouble. She chirps in worry, but shakes it off, focussed on thr task at hand. To preparedor battle Denerii nocks an arrow, ready for the first guard to show his face from the room behind them. Quote

Zepher Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) OOC: now I realize you want quests to be failable, but are you sure this is possible to succeed in? Nope. Not sure at all! Good luck! Be daring. If you all sit around and just target enemies one at a time as they come to you, that could work, but if you really plan and think out where each specific person needs to be, then you'll do much better. OoC: Can the NPC's move, i.e. Ella, Alandri, etc.? Phil can move if you ask him to. Bold your request, and he will follow it. Anyone not in the "party" will stay where they are. Am I still using Helbaerend as my Power has not changed? I only ask as it does double damage to mechanicals. Therefore my action is as follows: You may use whichever weapon you deem appropriate. We won't pick for you. To clarify, please bold which of your weapons you wish to use each round, as is the convention with people with two weapons (it's a hassle, but Boomingham does it too ). "I'll move to the throne room to cover while Nyx fights, but I won't go further! I refuse to leave Septrine without a defense. Thothwick, William, Nerwen, Arthur, while I don't advise leaving Ella without a defense... things are getting rather dicey down here. We could use some reinforcements. If you move towards Blackenord and U'Vires, some of those folks could peel off to help us against the Lion Knights. They can get to us faster than you can, so relieve them of their duty at the front door!" Don't forget battle order either, WBD! The OoC's should go down after this round, hopefully, but these questions are valid and good, so ask 'em now! Edited July 23, 2012 by Zepher Quote

Zepher Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) OoC: I'm running round 1. Technically, Flavius was never given an action, but if he stays in the room, he suffers 5 free hits, and if he leaves, he suffers only one. I also placed him in the back row. Blackenord - Shield Free Hits Chimera Guard D v. Tarn - (-[(12/2)-2]=4) Rogue Lion Knight Commander A v. Flavius (-([15/2]-2)=8) The heroes rush around the palace as they reorganize. The battle near the front door heats up. Tarn and a Chimera Guard grapple, and Atramor attempts to hex U'Vires, but the U'Kin's strong mental fortitude prevents him. Count Lewis is not used to the mechanical beast he is fighting, and the monster lunges forward and gashes open his shoulder with one of its razor sharp claws. De'kra's blade whizzes through the air and sends sparks cascading through the Chimera Guard's body. Cronk prays to his angel, who flies in, and protects everyone in the room with him. A free Chimera Guard rips open Tarn's calf, and as Flavius retreats, a Lion Knight takes a swing at him, damaging one of his feathers. As that Commander recovers from the swing, the other four chase Flavius into the next room. The Chimera guards look content to deal free hits rather than moving into the palace, so I think we could focus on Blackenord and U'Vires this round." Pandora Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Nyx continues to move towards Galen, Luke and Alexandre on the Northwest stairwell, who are in turn moving towards Flavius. "Keep going, I'm right behind you!" she calls to the heroes ahead of her. Quote
posades Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Xander witnesses the guards rush into the corridor, focusing on Imperial Guard B and attacking from the front row with his club. Quote
Tanma Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) OOC: De'kra can't take damage this round correct, even from free hits? I ask because the player list doesn't identify Cronk as using a guardian angel, nor that we are under it's protection. IC: De'kra sighed briefly with relief, so far the legion of heroes had held strong. Only three of them had been harmed, and Tarn had punishment coming after the bomb stunt. Still, iit would be best if no one suffered further wounds. "I will engage Blackenord from front row," clicked the rogue, "if Cronk sure his summon can protect squad. No offense meant, but combined league of heroes so spread out that it might negatively impact summon's power." The echo whipped Chiara about, still sparking rom the successful attack. Professor Flitwick Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Thothwick and William continue down the steps, and through the hallway, towards Atramor. "Let us make haste, chaps, we're almost there!" Quote
Rumble Strike Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Sorry for a noob question, but do free hits count in full even though Tarn attacked from the back row? Seeing that he was proctected by Cronk's guardian angel, Tarn wielded Helbaerend once again and attacked Lord Blackenord from the front row. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Hello, Cronk's angel. Since other friends are attacking Blackenord, Cronk will bash Chimera Guard A from front row. Cronk hopes to knock out guard with one hit. Quote
