Dharkan Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 OOC: I'm such a fool, didn't see the link on the topic, I was waiting for Doc to reply for two days :( terribly sorry. Attacking Chimera Guard A from front row. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Attacking Chimera Guard A from front row. Cronk not need help with Guard A. Why not take Guard C? Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 "Luke, hurry!" Alexandre leads him into the next "stair room" on the next floor. Who ever controls the winged person who is about to die, move them onto the stairs. Count Knygthon. "Don't worry, I got Chimera guard C." Front row. Quote
CMP Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I don't think Isabella's in the same room as us. And Rumble's right, Tarn should've only taken 4 damage. "Er, mates....maybe we should start breakin' off north next round. 6 heroes against the bulk of the rogue knight army aren't fantastic odds, and with Thothwick's reinforcement's they can handle these guys easy." Quote
Zepher Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 OOC: De'kra can't take damage this round correct, even from free hits? I ask because the player list doesn't identify Cronk as using a guardian angel, nor that we are under it's protection. You will be protected, I apologize, I've never noted that before in previous quests as it's simply not my practice, but I will do so form now on in this battle. This protection will also follow you if you choose to move rooms this round, and you will not be hit by a free hit. Sorry for a noob question, but do free hits count in full even though Tarn attacked from the back row? No, this is a dumb oversight on my part. I am posting from work and will fix it when I get home. Fugazi Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Galen climbs the stairs and dashes into the first room on the second floor. Quote
Xarrzan Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Sarick watched the enemies file through the doorway and attacked Imperial Guard A from the back row with frost magic. While the magic was charging, Sarick sent a message to Vipera saying, "Instruct Flavius to fly down the Western stairs. With his agility, he will only be struck by one opponent. After the team arrives up the stairs he can join them on the next term once he has had a moment to rest." Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) OoC: I know it's going to be a lot to ask, but I need to request that for this battle could everyone make sure they read all of the posts ahead of them and make sure they are not attacking the same target as someone else, I'll wait for the corrections to be made before posting the battle order. Skrall let loose a bolt from his Hunter's Crossbow at Imperial Guard D from the back row. "Ms. Toboso, go ahead and try a stab at that head gaurd Russel fellow, yer cloak should protect ya for this round! Snakelin', Denerii is already takin' care of that Guard, why don't you finish off the fifth one?" Skrall reflected on the images and sounds that Vipera communicated to him. "There's too many of them," he thought to himself, he paused as he knew what needed to be done. <Vipera, tell Luke that they're goin' to have to fall back and wait for reinforcements. Oh and send a direct message to Phil that if those heroes fall, there will be no one to help protect the emperor so he should be reinforcin' Nyx and movin' North as well.> "Galen, Alexandre, there are too many of them up there, we won't stand a chance, we need to wait for Nyx and the other heroes to reinforce our position, we must fall back to the lower level. Hopefully Phil and Count Knyghton can join us directly." Edited July 24, 2012 by Waterbrick Down Quote
CMP Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) "Aye, Skrall's right on pretty much every count. Knyghton should probably be headin' north. We won't take any free hits this round anyway." I think the rounds are automatically played every 24 hours. Could we go with WBD's suggestions on actions, perhaps? On the grounds that people are probably a little bit less likely to get slaughtered next round that way? Edited July 24, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Skrall watched as what may be a catastrophy unfold, as Luke retreated back down the stairs. JimBee Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Alright, here it goes. Skrall, I wasn't sure what you meant about moving Luke, Alexandre, and Galen, since they were already on the first floor stairwell, so I moved them to the Far North Corridor with Nyx. "Nay, I must protect the emperor." Cronk vs. Chimera Guard A - Critical Hit Tarn vs. Lord Blackenord - Extra Critical Hit Atramor vs. U'Vires - Special Damage De'Kra vs. Blackenord - Critical Hit Count Lewis moves to the Great Hall (First Floor) Thothwick moves to the East Corridor (First Floor) Arthur moves to the East Corridor (First Floor) Nerwen moves to the East Corridor (First Floor) William moves to the East Corridor (First Floor) Skrall vs. Imperial Guard D - Marking the Favored Special Damage Xander vs. Imperial Guard B - Special Damage Hit Isabella vs. Russel - Special Damage Sarick vs. Imperial Guard E - Spell Denerii vs. Imperial Guard A - Miss Nyx moves to the Far North Corridor (First Floor) Phil does nothing Luke moves to the Far North Corridor (First Floor) Alexandre moves to the Far North Corridor (First Floor) Galen moves to the Far North Corridor (First Floor) Flavius moves to the Western Stairwell (Second Floor) Rogue Lion Commander B - Free Hit on Flavius Chimera Guard B - Free Hit on Cronk Chimera Guard C - Free Hit on Tarn Chimera Guard D - Free Hit on Atramor Imperial Guard C - Free Hit on Skrall Imperial Guard F - Free Hit on Xander The massive battle continues. Cronk bashes the first Chimera Guard, and due to the diamond in Zoot's Bane, the mechanical menace falls easily to the blade. Tarn attacks Blackenord with his lightning-imbued ax, dealing a whopping 88 damage. U'Vires fires his gun at Atramor, but the witch puts up a magical mirror, which sends another bullet right back at the U'Kin, instantly defeating him, while Cronk's angel blocks the shot meant for Atramor. The technology isn't powerful enough to overcome the orc paladin's faith, it seems. De'kra decreases Blackenord's health further by slashing him with Chiara. He takes another shock to the system and suffers 50 damage. Meanwhile, in the adjacent corridor, Skrall fires a bolt from his Hunter's Crossbow, piercing Imperial Guard D's armor and dealing 59 damage. He can also choose whether or not to mark humanoid enemies. Sarick hurls an ice spell at Imperial Guard E, which deals 17 damage at the cost of one ether. Xander smacks Imperial Guard B with his club, which also poisons the enemy. Denerii, despite her determination to hit her target, misses. Imperial Guards C and F dish out free hits to Skrall and Xander, while Cronk's angel protects everyone in the first floor's southern corridor and Rogue Lion Commander B deals 6 damage to Flavius (fixed health from last round, damage dealt should have been 6). Imperial Guard B suffers 1 damage due to poison. Fugazi Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Galen pauses for a second, panting from the mad rush up then down the stairs. On the second floor he caught a glimpse of Flavius, bleeding from numerous wounds. He hoped that the Rito would somehow manage to evade his assailants. Regrouping with Alex and Luke, Galen applies venom to the blade of the Sword of Bashing. In such a long battle, even small things could make a difference. As he turns to the stairs preparing for the onslaught, he hears footsteps behind him and a familiar voice -- Nyx rushing to join them! Their fight already seemed a little bit less desperate. Tanma Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) IC: De'kra nodded as the foe sparked from Chiara's blow. As he readied the electric blade for another blow he clicked, "Heroes dealt great damage to blackenord, though he still stand. However as Cronk's summon left, heroes will need to split targets once more. I will move on to attack Chimera Guard B again, once more from back row. Cronk, you think you can take on blackenord alone? I only suggest it because of all of heroes in immediate area, you have enough health to take direct hit." Edited July 24, 2012 by Tanma Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Huh, Cronk thinks Chimera Guard A should fall over dead now. Zoot's Bane hit twice as hard. Cronk would be glad to take on Blackenord. That what meat shield is for. Cronk will bash Lord Blackenord from front row. Quote

Zepher Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 From here on in, we will only use the bolded actions of the players. If you accidently move into the wrong room or double target someone, it will stay that way. It was confusing, so we've been nice, but I think you've got the hang of it now, so you will do what you bold. Quote
CMP Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Atramor surprises himself with his own reflexes - the renegade U'kin had barely pulled the trigger when a wall of ether shimmered to life right in front of the witch. The bullet fizzled inches in front of it anyway, courtesy of Cronk's angel, but Atramor most certainly wasn't done. There was revenge to be attended to. With a snarl, he flung his hand out at U'Vires, an exact copy of the projectile, in sharp orange, flew out of the shield. The assassin leader went stiff as the bullet punched right through his nose, and as the wall dissolved, all Atramor did was cackle with fulfilled vengeance as the rogue politician hit the floor. In all honesty, it was easily one of the most satisfying kills in his career of a hero. Many faces seemed to apply the body strewn in front of him, for some odd reason. Wren...XX....Althior...Thothwick....hmph. If only those people would be ended as quickly as had U'Vires. Heroes or not, these people were starting to aggravate him... "Eventually." "Shut up, I didn't ask you. That's for several people and your crappy drinks." He spits on the blood-stained corpse, and turns to his party. With a blink, however, his face goes a bit pale. "Er...mates, I won't be as nearly as powerful against these machines and this particular bastard, my dagger's more suited to...well...rats. You've got another party comin' in to help, so I think I'll get a headstart north to help the others. Once ya' clean up these guys, though, don't send too many to follow me, or Roland'll slip off." Turning on his heel, Atramor darts off towards the great hall, McCafferey flapping in pursuit. Edited July 24, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
