IC: De'kra winced as the foe slammed its pincers into his chest. Though the blow was painful, it did not sting quite as badly as he would have expected. Shaking himself of that, De'kra clicked, "I think Cronk and I can hold out here little longer, though if Nerwen's group can afford it, I think Ranger's weapon does greater damage to machines. But chaos beasts and or Rolando more important, so enact what you think is best. I will attack Chimera Guard B from back row again, and Chiara attack he could fall in one attack."

Tarn takes a swing with Helbaerend at the Chimera Guard following him from the front row.

I can't tell which Chimera Guard that is, or whether it is damaged If I knew it was damaged I could attack from the back row. Perhaps enemies should have a Location stat?

• Because Cronk and De'kra are in the same corridor, Chimera Guard D deals a Free Hit instead of following Tarn.
  
• Imperial Guards deal Free Hits.
  
• The Rogue Lion Commander on the first floor is in the corridor, not in the stairwell.

The sound of enemies closing in gets louder as Tarn continues northwards.

Are the red bits on the map the stairs? Are we heading for those, CMP?

IC: De'kra flinches as another foe strikes into him from out of nowhere. "This is not ideal," he clicked, "You have any suggestions Skrall? Since that foe randomly move back I not sure it safe to test Cronk and I's luck here."

"You must prioritize, heroes. As awful as it is, you can't fight everyone at once. If you want to survive, you cannot be actively fighting all four forces. You do not have the troops for that. Pick groups to destroy, slaughter them, and then attack the threat crowd, or you will not survive."

OoC: Actually I shot Russel with my Hunter's Crossbow, so he shouldn't be in the back row.

Skrall listens as an explosion rocks the palace, "That can't be good. De'kra, stick to the back row. Arthur should remain behind and target one of those Lord Blacknord from the back row with darkness magic. Cronk I suggest you take on one of the remaining Chimera Guards. Luke go with Alexandre. Tarn, the guard fled and is no longer following you, keep going with Atramor. Isabella, the emperor hasn't joined us yet, I think you'd be much more suited to attacking that Imperial Guard D. Snakelin', go ahead and heal Xander up, he's going to need it."

OOC: I may have missed this but after the enemy captures an NPC, do they have to go out the front doors or can they leave through any way enemies have entered?

Cronk not know what else to do but hold line for now. Enemies so close to throne room.

Cronk will bash Chimera Guard C from front row.

Without giving away too much, they must enter through an entrance on the first floor. That now gives them two options.

We will also most likely extend this round slightly because of all of our mistakes, we need to give you time to regroup and deal with the things we told you were so, but aren't.

Oops, my bad. I'll recalculate the Damage based on your Hunter's Crossbow.

...and done. At WP: 11, you dealt 179 Damage instead of 161, so Russel's Health drops to 199 HP.

Nyx thinks she sees an enemy in the room with her and her allies, and thus prepares to target him with Darkness magic from the back row, channelled through her Book. Her head is swimming with all the information from the heroes, and the recent explosion wasn't helping, so before she fires her magic she checks whether he is friend or foe, and should he be friend she'll move North with Galen and the others.

OoC (again) Sorry, I'm finding the map tricky to interpret, so I've written a contingency just in case.

"But surely if we just keep moving North, they'll still come down to attack us, and we'll have nowhere to move to. We'll be backed into a corner with an advancing ambush. At least here there is hope for back-up and we stand between them and the throne room/the Emperor? And if we're trying to head upstairs, then we'll have to face them anyway, so why not start now. Or am I missing something? "

"Well, look. They're going down different stairwells, I can't imagine they're all going for Alandri. At least this way, there's a chance you won't get...completely swarmed. And even if so, you don't have any more of a chance defending where ya' are now than you have over there."
