IC: De'kra was knocked back, sparks flying off of Chiara. He was in quite a bit of bad luck, luck the likes of which he had not had since Quest 4, if memory served. But why? His skills had vastly improved from that early beginning, and so much of his memory had returned. So why was he failing so epically? The foes he faced were not too strong, yet he faltered against them. Why?

As he got to his feet, the echo clicked, "Heroes, next turn all of heroes in south entrance will suffer free hits. And I am not sure how long heroes could hold out unde those conditions. What Skrall think heroes should enact? I possess smoke bomb so heroes could flee, but it would leave entrance unguard and make it easier for foes to attack targets. I not sure if this could work, but maybe group could run in different directions after smoke bomb use, half go to aid in assult on Rolando, and other half go to protect emperor or engage Chaos beasts. Or heroes could try to hold out longer in front. What you suggest? If you have no suggest or you want heroes to try to weaken enemies, I will target Chimera B from back row, one last time."

OOC: could the heroes run in different directions after using a smoke bomb?

"If we get a moment of respite, then I can pass on the Phoenix essence to another, however there's a distinct possibility that I might be required to do a bit of smiting with my Healing Staff. Let's see how things pan out."

Nyx runs South with Galen, Luke and Alexandre, her years of setting things on fire allowing her eyes to be accustomed to the smoke.

QM Note: You do realize that you can perform actions the same round that Galen throws a smoke bomb? Just as long as they're done before he throws it. Derp, no never mind. :blush:

Rogue Lion Commander A should be Cursed in addition to Badly Posioned, and thus have 147 maximum health. I hadn't been able to successfully hit anyone until then, believe it or not. :blush:

OoC: I don't think the Elite Heavy Guard's free hits were calculated. Also I don't think Elite Heavy Guard A should be in the back row any longer, those his free hit should have been cut in half.

As Skrall watched Elite Heavy Guard A start to charge him, he unholstered his Hunter's Crossbow and let loose a quarrel from the back row right at the slit in his visor. As he released his shot he shouted over to Denarii, "Put yer focus on that middle elite guard, Nerwen tend to that last one."

Luke quickly moved south with the rest of the Party.

With his last conscious breath, Galen throws a smoke bomb to the floor, allowing himself and his allies to escape to the Far North Corridor. In the Throne Room, Atramor hexes Rogue Lion Commander D, who will act against his allies for the next turn. Commander A encourages his allies, while Knyghton attacks C for 13 damage. In the West Corridor, Sarick swallows a potion while Arthur fails to blind Roland again. Xander, although weak, puts all of his strength into a battle frenzy, dealing 24 damage to and poisoning all enemies in the room (-SP, row). Isabella slashes Archer B (28) and Denerii flaps her wings to stun all enemies while hovering at the ceiling. Skrall uses his special abilities to advantage of Elite A's weaknesses, firing an arrow straight through the slit in his visor and into his eye, killing him instantly. Nerwen finishes strong by attacking Elite C for 8 damage. Finally, in the South Corridor, Cronk calls for his angel who comes rushing to the battlefield to protect the party next round. Chimera Guard B gives out a mechanical roar, but it is useless. William fires four arrows, into C (5), E, F, and G (19).

The air is thick with poison, and all who are inflicted with it take damage, including Galen who, after fleeing Alandri's Quarters, faints.

I should have 16 health, and I think you forgot to poison Roland. Also, since you seem to be recording it, XX can't deal free hits either.

Atramor takes his quick hexing of the Commander in stride, twisting away from the sword driven into his side, and lunging at his attacker, Rogue Lion Commander B, from the back row.

"Phil, Knyghton, take Commanders C and E, respectively, if ya' don't mind. Tarn, I'd go for A, from the front since ya' can't get taken out with that Sand Worm Hide. Er, Nyx....." Atramor hesitates. "...it may not be in the best interest of every to revive Galen. The Lion bastards could easily pin you down while you're tryin' to get him up, and I'm pretty sure we fail the Quest if Phil's knocked out and he's not revived. We've all only got 3 Phoenix Essences left, and the other 2 are on the other side of the palace. Your call, though."

IC: De'kra clicks in frustation' yet still he missed his foe. And soon they would all die from these Chimera guards. With a grim nod De'kra commented, "Heroes in south not last much longer. I suggest heroes all target Lord Blakenord this round, so that rest of heroes might not need to worry about him. Then, I will use smoke bomb, and heroes will try to flee to safety. I suggest heroes flee to aid heroes attack Rolando, as those heroes wound too. That way all together heroes might be able to enact some success. Hopefully heroes in throne room to endure, but they still well rest, and heroes not able to immediately aid everyone. One heroes cold go to try to help Ella, but it risky. What other heroes think?" The echo got to work targeting blackenord from the front row, knowing that Cronk's summon should protect him while he and Chiara attack.
