Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Denarii nodded and dove in with her stone knife from the front row. Nerwen listened to the chatter about what to do with the heroes in the front room of the palace. She asked, Alexandre, what is an enpeesy?why does that mean we should not worry about Ella? An enpeesy is some useless life form put into life by God to make us "roleplay" or something. Quote
Flipz Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 "Arthur, don't worry about her. She's just an NPC. We have more important things to worry about." OOC: For the record: In-character only, in-character only. Also, for later reference, which Chaos Beast is holding Ella? "Twit! Hope for thy own sake that Emperor Septrine did not hear you; if he knew how willing you are to abandon his daughter, he'd likely destroy you himself. Where is your honor? Where is your reason? She is no common slave-girl, she is a princess of high blood. No matter whose side you are on, she is a woman of great value, not some worthless trifle to be cast aside. As I said, I will attend to the girl's safety, even if no one else will." IC: De'kra turned towards the approaching Arthur and clicked, "You are right, someone has to try to help her. Emperor might be main objective, but Ella is person too. Enact what you can, and any luck Chimera guards will follow heroes and I to emperor. And with multiple healers heroes and I would have better chance of victory. Just...be careful Nuparu." "Thank you De'kra. If even one of you accompanied me, we would have a much better chance. Perhaps William? He can take two enemies per Round, and in this fight we'll need to be able to attack more than one foe if we are to save the princess." Quote
CMP Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) "Eh...Arthur might have a point. And Tarn would probably go and get himself killed trying to save her afterward anyway." "He's insignificant, and as to her-" "Heh, someone's still bitter about someone being immune to their eerie mystery...I agree, ya'll should go for the Chaos Beasts next round." McCafferey makes no mental attempt to continue her statement. Atramor smirks, chuckling to himself. Edited July 31, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Chromeknight Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) An enpeesy is some useless life form put into life by God to make us "roleplay" or something. I am not sure which god you follow young elf, but to Galadrya and Celebryon, there are no useless lives. Each one has a part to play in the great symphony, each one helps us find our own music inside. But it would be better to pay attention to where you are than muse on the purpose of life just now. Nerwen spoke gently, knowing that Alexandre could only hear the tone of her voice, not see her face. She wondered if the chaos of these quests was affecting him, that he would view everyone as playthings of capricious controllers... Edited July 31, 2012 by Chromeknight Quote
Tanma Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 IC: De'kra shuddered before he clicked, "No one is useless, no matter what. Even if person is insane, they will still have use. They insanity might give them unique perspective, madness can be present among good people along and bad. Even simple errand runner might know great secret that can change world, and so-call savage beasts might be noble intelligent entitiesa that will save heroes if heroes only ask. If deity claim that someone has no use, no worth; I would be very wary about that deity." The echo shook his head vaguely in disgust, and clicked something to himself. Quote
Flipz Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Not far away, Arthur, too, was wondering about corruption. "This land is cursed," he murumured, almost too quietly to hear. "A spreading darkness looms, even amidst our feeble victories. My magicks, blocked, my thoughts, muddled, my heart, blackened. This land...this land is not safe for mortals, nay, not even for gods. This darkness lingers, even after the Chimaera's demise, against my own thought. A darkness so bitter, and yet so sweet..." The world seems to slow as Arthur ducks an Imperial Guard's sword as he makes for the South Hall. "Remember the old ways...no fear...no hesitation...action...decisiveness...victory..." Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 "Ok fine. Enpeesys have a purpose. Sorry if I... offended... anyone." Hmm... hating on an NPC... sounds like a good recipe for deliberately altering the story. OOC: For the record: In-character only, in-character only. Also, for later reference, which Chaos Beast is holding Ella? That kinda was IC. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 QM Note: Since you're online, Chromeknight; who is Denarii targetting? Not sure if I missed it; all I can find is your bolded statement where she attacks from the Front Row with the knife, with no specified target. Quote

Chromeknight Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 "Ok fine. Enpeesys have a purpose. Sorry if I... offended... anyone." I am not offended, I am simply worried about you. I'm not offended, just gently and humoursly pushing you to stay in character. Which, as you say, you kinda were. Perhaps there's a mismatch of styles. I prefer not to even pick out a wall as being the fourth one, other, I know, are happy to lean on the fourth way quite hard. In any case it's an excuse of character interactions, which is the point of this whole game. Quote

CMP Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) Cronk rolled a Guardian Angel last round, that might affect things just a little bit. Rogue Lion Commander A should also be Stunned on account of Lion's Heart. None of them should be Encouraged any more, either. Atramor grinned as the heroes from the north corridor rushed inside, whilst Lion Commander B stumbled into a wall. He grumbled, however, as he pulled himself off of Commander E's blade, hissing in pain at the pair of stab wounds he now bore. "Alright then. I'm gonna heal myself, Luke, I suggest tending to Phil, and Alexandre, if you wouldn't mind taking a break and using a Potion on Nyx or Knyghton. I don't think these commanders are going to be much of an issue, but those Lions are gonna be all over us in a few rounds." With that, Atramor hastily brought his hands aglow, attempting to heal himself. Edited July 31, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Cronk rolled a Guardian Angel last round, that might affect things just a little bit. QM Note: That...would make a lot of sense in regards to strategy. I've got to go to sleep soon; I'll correct this tomorrow. State actions as if all five of those heroes are still conscious. Quote
Flipz Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) OOC: Also, I don't see where Arthur took damage, even in the description and notations. Oh, never mind, I see it, Blackenord's special. good thing Cronk has a Guardian, huh? "De'kra, brother, throw that Smoke Bomb and we'll all retreat! William, if you'd come East with me, I'd be much obliged. It's your call, though. Either way, I'm going to retreat East from the Back Row." "Also, Count Knyghton, why the Nether are you using your sword? Your crossbow only does 2 less damage, and you have Back Row protection at the same time!" Edited July 31, 2012 by Flipz Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 QM Note: I had some time, so I fixed the calculations of the Free Hits, revived those five, and gave them back their Round 8 HP stats. The map is still wrong, though; I don't have time to edit that. Quote
Tanma Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) IC: De'kra nods at Arthur, and throws down the Smoke Bomb. "Good luck Heroes," the echo clicked, as he followed Skralls advice and headed north by the back row towards the throne room. OOC: I am not sure row mattered since I am using a smoke bomb, but it bares mentioning. By the way, could a Rogue flee a room in this scenario, and thus avoid free hits in movement? Chromeknight Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 QM Note: Since you're online, Chromeknight; who is Denarii targetting? Not sure if I missed it; all I can find is your bolded statement where she attacks from the Front Row with the knife, with no specified target. Sorry. somehow missed your question, I'll be more specific in future. Nerwen looked around. The battle was dragging on while other groups were struggling against the numbers of enemies infesting the palace. Now the Emperor's guard were encouraged and would be hitting harder. This round would be tough. She shifts her grip on her hammer and steps up to strike elite guard C from the back row. Denarii meanwhile lined up a bow shot on elite guard B from the back row. Attacking the Emperor this round, it'd be better to roll a special than roll damage... Quote
Rumble Strike Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) "If there is to be a party rescuing Ella, I would like to be in it!" called Tarn over the communication they all shared thanks to Vipera. "I will not let her be taken." OOC: As CMP said, Rogue Lion Commnader A should be stunned as it was a successful hit on him. Also none of those Commanders should be encouraged now. Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 "Nerwen, don't worry. I've been around Brickdoctor too much. It's probably just the evil presence of so much evil. Eubric will be much better. " Staying in the back row, I remember to use a potion on Nyx. "Sorry, Knyghton, she's more powerful and useful. Luke, perhaps you could heal him?" Count Knyghton: "If Luke heals me, I'll attack Rogue Commander A. Front Row." Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Thothwick watches the small rogue throw the smoke bomb, and follows him North, towards the throne room, following the advice of Skrall, picking up his Shuriken whilst running past it (OoC: if it's possible to do it in the same turn. If not, I'll just focus on moving). Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 QM Note: All fixed. (OoC: if it's possible to do it in the same turn. If not, I'll just focus on moving). I don't think it is. Quote
