Is that everything we need to know?" said Sarick. "Are there any secret passages or sewer lines that can be used to infiltrate the fort?"

"Yes, that sounds right. There aren't any secret passages that I know of, but I'm sure you heroes are capable of finding a way in."

Galen loved the idea of a stealthy mission.

"Very well your majesty. Are we still far from the fort? Do we know if the Lion Knights have surrounded it?"

[Tanma]

IC: De'kra nodded in response, regretfully having nothing really to add.

"Very well your majesty. Are we still far from the fort? Do we know if the Lion Knights have surrounded it?"

"The fort is just up ahead, but we don't know how the Lions are going to attack. I'll be waiting here for you, and we'll depart as soon as your return. Good luck."

Russel and the party headed out, and came upon a very large fort. They couldn't see any activity, but as they got closer, they could hear cries of battle in the distance. The battle must have been taking place on the other side of the fort. There seemed to be a door hanging ajar, so the party cautiously entered. They came to a room filled with swords, spears, and other weaponry.

"Lucky us, this must be the armory. Take what you can, and let's get out of here. We may need to return to Drakencourt to call for reinforcements if the enemy force is large enough that our men can't handle it. I'll head upstairs to inform the men in charge."

What will the party do?

Sarick grabs the golden dagger in the barrel. He then searches for any potions, tonics or pheonix essences in the chests. Once Sarick packed away his items he said "I have all I need. Be on the look out for anyone acting suspicious or out of place. I am ready to move on when everyone else is."

Cronk think door hanging ajar too easy. Do any of Cronk's friends get feeling that party is walking into trap? Friends should be extra cautious.

Is only weapons Drakencourt want, right? Cronk look around cautiously while gathering weapons to take.

Nerwen moves quickly, inspecting the area behind the black grill and also opening the two chests.

"I agree with Cronk, we should tread carefully. Remember there is someone here we cannot trust; keep your eyes open and your weapons at the ready."

Galen guards the door by which the party entered the room, while waiting for the others to finish inspecting the weaponry.

Nerwen moves quickly, inspecting the area behind the black grill and also opening the two chests.

Turning to De'kra she says...

Perhaps you should put that elven cloak you were telling me about on, then if we meet enemies, you might be able to tell us about them.

IC: De'kra nodded, and donned the cloak of the elven spy. Cautiously the echo asked, "If this trap, why are they let team take weapons to arm team? Even if weapons are less powerful than what team has, why risk it? Could weapons be trap, like by cover in poison or something?" At the moment the echo hasn't taken any weaponry, though he had eyed the tuiny barrel of long spears.

In preparation for any surprise battles, Sarick drank his nostrum. Sarick felt a strange tingling sensation but that was all. He hoped this liquid would have a positive effect.

The dagger does not appear to be suitable for any hero class, but Sarick takes it anyway. He then tries to open the chests, but they are locked.

Cronk takes some swords and spears that aren't inside the gated area, to transport to Drakencourt.

Nerwen moves quickly, inspecting the area behind the black grill and also opening the two chests.

The chests are locked, but Nerwen gets a closer look at the gated area, which also seems to be locked. Inside crates of advanced-looking ammunition and parts to a catapult can be seen.

She also takes the two swords that look like they are of elven manufacture. (ie., the katanas)

Nerwen takes the two swords to bring to Drakencourt.

Xander looks for any items useful for barbarians.

None of the weapons appear to be usable by the heroes.

Sarick placed the golden dagger inside of his new headress to conceal it. He then grabbed as many weapons as he could reasonably carry. "When everyone is ready, we should check on Russel upstairs."

She suggests to Sarick he use a ice spell to freeze the locks on the chest so the can be shattered by a strong blow, or a lightning spell if they're mechanical, If he thinks that would work.

Sarick attempts to freeze the locks on the chests at the cost of 1 ether.

Xander quietly moves towards the bundle of spears, heaving the package on his shoulder to carry to Drakencourt.

Xander has the spears, Cronk, Sarick and I are carrying the swords and sabers, are there any weapons left to carry?

Where has Russel got to?

Some of the party members take bundles on weapons in their arms, cleaning out the room except for what's behind the gate. Sarick uses an ice spell to freeze both of the locks for 1 ether. Luckily, the locks are old and rusty and with swift jabs from his staff, the mage manages to shatter both locks. Both crates contain a total of 120 shimmering gold coins.

Party Leader, how will the loot be distributed?

Suddenly, a man rushes down the stairs. The party freezes, with no time to react.

"Oi! Who are you and what's your business here?"

(Diplomacy) No need to be alarmed. Cronk and friends have come to pick up supplies for Emperor Drakencourt. Party is gathering up what Emperor want and will be on way to front lines soon. Friends do not want to get in soldier's way here.

[Fugazi]

"Like my friend said, we have been sent by the Emperor to move your weaponry to the front where it's urgently needed. Now if you could please unlock this gate so that we can finish loading up the supplies, it would be most helpful."

[Tanma]

IC: De'kra stays silent, though he activates his cloak to check the stranger's stats.

Sarick grabed the coins from the chests and slithered to the back of the group when the man came down the stairs. While the others spoke he counted out coins and handed them to the party members behind their backs. Sarick handed:

19 coins to Xander,

19 coins to Cronk,

19 coins to Galen,

19 coins to De'kra,

19 coins to his (Sarick's) pocket, and

25 coins to Nerwen "Extra," Sarick whispered, "for suggesting to freeze the locksss."

(Diplomacy) No need to be alarmed. Cronk and friends have come to pick up supplies for Emperor Drakencourt. Party is gathering up what Emperor want and will be on way to front lines soon. Friends do not want to get in soldier's way here.

The diplomacy seems to have an effect on the soldier, but still he resists.

"I wasn't informed of this... and Emperor Drakencourt? Never heard of 'im."

"Like my friend said, we have been sent by the Emperor to move your weaponry to the front where it's urgently needed. Now if you could please unlock this gate so that we can finish loading up the supplies, it would be most helpful."

The man sneers at the rogue. "Wait, you want me to help you? In case you haven't noticed we're under attack."

De'kra checks the soldier's stats using his Cloak of the Elven Spy:

Special: Reinforcements (Calls another Dastanian Soldier to battle)

Whoops, sorry Cronk meant Emperor Roland Emeraldo. This Cronk's first time in Dastan and Cronk gets confused about names sometimes. Soldier Russel, party's guide, can confirm Cronk's story. Party here under orders. So if soldier want to help or not, soldier need to stand down and let heroes do work.

Galen waves off Sarick's offer. He was a rogue, but stealing from the people who hired him didn't feel right, and he wasn't willing to stoop so low.

The man sneers at the rogue. "Wait, you want me to help you? In case you haven't noticed we're under attack."

Galen smiles at the man.

"Then please tell us who can open this gate for us, and you will be able to return to your duties defending the fort. The Emperor won't tolerate undue delays. The outcome of the main battle rests in your hands, officer."
