Waterbrick Down Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 "Greetings." Alexandre nods. "Skrall. I think we're the only ones left sane in our party. Arthur, Luke, and Knyghton have strangely fallen asleep." "Yes, Roland is guilty. Arthur and I tried to ask him some questions, but we had to fight off 3 waves of guards and retreat." "Don't ferget Ms. Toboso, she's still alive and kickin'. If the other's are asleep includin' Luke, we may need to find another cleric to revivie 'em." Quote
CMP Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 "Aye. He was a real bastard, but not hard to kill..." He blinks at Galen, eyes narrowing at the sight of his headress. "Hellish -....you mean ya'll killed the Chimera?" Atramor's frown stretches into a grin. "Well, that's one major problem outta the way." Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 IC: De'kra nodded at the knight, though he wished that the knight had gone into more details. "It is too bad that you not get much information from traitor," he commented, "Anything else you have to add? Unusual items in his possession or something?" "Sadly no. We couldn't even get past the door. But when we were disguised as Rogue Lion knights, the guards said no rogues were working with them. But we also said we were heroes from Heroica, and they still wouldn't let us past. They were hiding something, I know it." Quote
posades Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Xander knew better than to speak when he had nothing to add, and this was definitely a situation where he knew little. It seemed like the only way to clear the situation up was to interrogate Roland -- he would see to it that Roland answered to his past actions. Quote
Zepher Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 OOC: Zepher, do you have any idea what this headdress looks like? OoC: I'm afraid I don't have any ideas for any of the Chimera stuff. I tried some builds, but none of them looked good, so I figured I'd let the imagination would work better! With a slighty annoyed tone the echo asked, "how were you able to move heroes so quickly from so far? Any reason this not use previously?" OoC: Most of the time I use "appear" to mean "appear in the line of sight", as in, suddenly rounding a corner. The only ones who truly "appeared" as in "suddenly and inexplicably appeared" are those who fought the Chimera. "The flashes seem to be some sort of Dragon Magic. Way I understand it, we don't have anything similar." "It's true. Dragons derive all their magical abilities from the energy pools. We use ether, and we haven't quite figured out how to channel ether to allow transportation in the way that the Dragons use the energy pools for transportation." "What it boils up to is that it doesn't matter. Time is of the essence, so if you've all gotten your heads nailed on right now, or at least as best you can, I say it's time for us to go our different ways. An invasion is waiting for us somewhere out there." Quote
CMP Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 "Phil, Mallelio, are 'ya sticking around with us? I'd rather not lose any more people." Quote
Tanma Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 IC: De'kra nodded, he was ready to go. Or at least, as ready as he could be given the circumstances. The echo still couldn't help but sigh with relief that Dastan might not fall yet, and that their mistakes might not be permanent. It could still all fall apart, but for now a chance remained. Quote
Zepher Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Phil nods and the parties split into their original groups. The heroes under Nikolai remain at Roland's wing, while the heroes under Leofard follow him out into the city streets. Phil takes his party towards the prison in the north of Dastan. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Goodbye, other parties. Cronk wishes all good luck and hopes Ennoc sends blessings. So any ideas, friends? Party must reach Roland. Cronk would be okay trying brute force but there must be easier way. Quote
JimBee Posted July 8, 2012 Author Posted July 8, 2012 "Right then. To answer your question, Sarick, there are three doors to Roland's wing, all facing east towards the palace behind us. Brute force is one option, but our main objective here is to weaken Emeraldo's force so that they aren't a threat. Arresting him is also a priority, but that might be impossible at the moment, given the amount of guards he might have in there, and the amount of troops that we have. We're already spread thin with the rogue Lion Knights from the south, and an arrest right now may fruitless if we cannot defend the palace." "As for the task at hand, I leave it to you, heroes, to decide what to do. You may try to force your way in, or you may come up with a diversion." Quote
Tanma Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) IC: After a pause, De'kra clicked, "Some of heroes and I possess bombs. Perhaps Team could detonate some bombs on wall away from the front gates. The combined bombs might blow a hole in the wall, allowing entry. However, it would be a distraction. Although one Rogue would stay there to make sure the bombs go off and make a hole, the rest go slip into the front entrance while guards run to the blown up wall. As the heroes go they might plant traps, using Pickaxes and shovels to hide extra bombs in ground. That why Guards in hast to catch them might blowup, and possibly cripple their legs. Elsewhere, the rogue will flee if found by guards, but if he can he will try to slip into the building unnoticed. Of course this idea hinges on their being many cooridors obscuring view of the target entrances. Commander, can you confirm that palace is not just one great hall, but has many rooms and hallways? Any thoughts from other heroes?" Edited July 8, 2012 by Tanma Quote

OOC: Of course you edit your post as I'm doing mine Jim. IC: De'kra nodded at this and added, "That could work, and could even be combine and bomb diversion idea, so that heroes land on roof while explosions are use to distract guards. Another idea is the Rito might drop bombs upon palace, which might damage the building. If that is done rubble might block off certain roots, but chunks of wall and roof might cripple many guards, possibly taking bulk of them. That could making fighting guards easier. It up to Nerwen and Sarick, these just suggestions. But I think just attack from front is bad idea." Quote
Xarrzan Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 OOC: I haven't forgotten about the helmet Jim. Sarick is not wearing it and he offered it to those who participated in the battle but no one responded. Sarick listened to the ideas before responding. "I do not like the idea of splitting up the team. The use of bombsss as a distraction is a good idea, as is utilizing the Rito. I would suggest they drop the bombs in a location away from us to cause the distraction while we enter in a different location. With their ability to fly, they will be able to quickly join usss. What do the othersss think?" Dragon Heart Sword "Do not be a coward. Charge the main gate and slay the enemies of Constance!" Quote

Chromeknight Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Nerwen was silent. Her skills lay in conversations with people rather than formulating plans trying to factor in a palace full of unknowns. She was a hunter, not a raider. Always more comfortable having the advantage of terrain, or at least being able to see the putative battlefield. Always better to know the enemy rather than charge in blindly. This situation was bad in any number of ways. She shook her head clearing the glum thoughts. I will follow whatever plan Sarick chooses, but I do not have any ideas myself. Also Sarick, if no one wants the helmet, I will take it. Is the helmet an artifact or just a helmet? Also I previously noted I had my stats wrong which has propagated through your party info. My health is 19 and ether 15. Thanks. Turning to the Rito standing by her, the one named Denerii, Nerwen said Will you and your mate be able to fight in the confines of the palace? Denerii replied The ceilings seem high enough. It should not be a problem. How much freedom do we have in characterization for the Rito? Are they merely player actioned NPCs that are still voiced by you or are they now pseudo-PCs like Hoptet etc? Eep! Lots of colours! At least it's clear what is speech and what is OOC. Quote

See a few pages back. Is the helmet an artifact or just a helmet? Also I previously noted I had my stats wrong which has propagated through your party info. My health is 19 and ether 15. Thanks. OoC: I thought I had fixed that, sorry! The helmet is a helmet... and an artifact. Anything that you equip that is not a weapon or shield is an artifact.
