dillthepill Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 The Sky Guardian, Blade Titan, Cyclone Defender, and Claw Crusher came in the mail the other day, so I thought I would share my thoughts about these. Here I go. First, I will start with the small ones. Cyclone Defender: This is my second favorite 2007 mech that I have already. I'm loving the bionicle legs and arms, becuse they allow faster movement, and a lot of thought was put into the weapons. The knees are stiff, as I am sure most of you predicted, but the mech is so light it doesn't need much support. My favorite part of this set is the spinning shield. The color of it is nice, and who doesn't like ninja blades? The shield spins very fast if you turn the knob, and that's cool. There is also a pistol, 3 missiles, and and wrench/screwdriver to back that up. I highly reccomend this set, and I give it a 9/10. Here's a pic to feast your eyes on. I decided to do a closeup on the spinning shield to show how it works. Claw Crusher:This is my third favorite. These are gonna be a lot tougher than stupid Sentrys. Also having Bionicle leg and arm joints, this gives it fast movement. The color scheme looks great, especially the weapon colors. The claw is awesome, and I made a similar mod like this to the Gate Defender way back. There is also a little gatling gun, missile and a tiny shooter by the cockpit to use against the humans. I give this 8.5/10 This has 2 Claw Crushers. The more the better. *sweet* Sky Guardian: My least favorite of the lot. I like all the jets, the cockpit and color scheme are great ,too, and the big hero mechs can have the cockpit sides go up and down as they please, giving almost full protection. The dissapointment is the lack of thought in weaponry. All the did was give you a yellow blade and connect it to the arm. It is rather dissapointing. And although I love zamor spheres, they should've made some mods to it instead of just made a gun stick out of the top, or at least make it so the gun had some movement, then just being able to only follow the zamor sphere movement. It is ok, but the weapons are quite a down fall. 6.8/10 Here's a pic to look at. Blade Titan: This is my favorite, and I thinks it is the best Exo-Force mech by far(not including the robot ones). The color scheme is great, and they use bionicle joints on the arms. The gatling cannon is nice, because it is more powerful than the Grand Titan's. But the best part is the shield/blades. Like LEGO said, the blades can expand in and out, depending on what you think is better. It also spins very easily by using the gear. This set is something you have to add to your arsenal. 10/10 Here is a picture of the beauty. I decided to move the cockpit side to prove that the cockpit sides go up. Here is a closeup of the blade shield. Here are a few more pics to enjoy. ;-) Ryo couldn't let an oppurtunity to kick a robot slip away. The robot wasn't so happy... at least the one that got kicked. :-P And why not some box art while I am at it? Front Back And the box art for Cyclone Defender and Claw Crusher, too. Front Back And I also have minifigs and instruction booklets, too. And here are the backs of the instruction booklets. And since I thought that this was interesting, I did a close up of it. Thanks for reading. Hope you like my pics, and I strongly reccomend getting all sets. Quote
Zarkan Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Could you take pictures of them? (if you haven't already) I'd love to see them up close and in real life. ;-) Quote
dillthepill Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 Could you take pictures of them? (if you haven't already) I'd love to see them up close and in real life. ;-) I'll try ,but every time I try to load pictures in a BS folder, it doesn't work. Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I told you a million times, dill, just tell me at what part in my tutorial you get stuck, and try to take a screenshot of it and mail that to me. From there I'll try to help ;-) As for the sets...I'm really not impressed from what I've seen so far. I'd much rather BL the torsos :-P Quote
dillthepill Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 All right. Tomorrow I will take the 2007 pics and see what happens. If I get stuck, I'll take a screen shot and send it to you. Quote
dillthepill Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 I finally figured it out! This means that I can post 2007 pics, and I don't need Exo-Champ to post my mech for the contest! Quote
dillthepill Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 NOOO! Now the pics won't deeplink! I followed everything in the deeplink tutorial, but when I click on the tree icon, it says that I must enter a URL address and it won't have a bar. HEEEEEEEEEEEELP! Quote
KMOI Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Instead of doing the tree icon thingy, you should do the following: [ IMG ] Url here [ /IMG ] Just remember to remove the spaces in the img tag so instead of "[ IMG ]" it looks like "". Same goes with the one with the slash in it! Quote
dillthepill Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Could you be more specific, please? It would be nice to see a screenshot to know exactly what to do. Quote
KMOI Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Hmm... I put it pretty easy already, so I'm not too sure how else I can explain it... Say, do you know how to copy and paste the address for the pictures? If you do, could you post the addresses? Just do a simple copy and paste, then post! I'll turn them into images from there onwards for you. Quote
dillthepill Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 That would be great, but whenever I type the picture address it says that it is invalid. I will keep trying, though. Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Did you remember to delete the "http://" There's only supposed to be one... When deep-linking. Did you remember to right-click on picture... Quote
dillthepill Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 Did you remember to delete the "http://" There's only supposed to be one... When deep-linking. Did you remember to right-click on picture... No, I didn't delete the http://. Maybe that is the problem. But I did click on the picture. Quote
Kahgarak Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Does the Blade Titan's shield expand when spinning, like Keetongu's shield did in 2005? I can't wait for the pics. *sweet* Quote
KMOI Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Okay, yeah. You have to get rid of one of the "http://" tags. But in any case, post the pictures, working or not, then let us have a shot at fixing the problem for ya. :-) Quote
natelite Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Link someone went to florida's lego store and they have the actual sets up. click on the link for the folder. the sky guardian will definitely need modding. the arms are hediously ugly. on the plus side, the cockpits look decent compared to 2006 sets. some folks may find the bionicle arms good, personally i dont like them. i do agree though that blade titan went from bleh to pretty good. my favs at first was iron condor and sky guardian. now, sky guardian has been relegated to last place and blade titan to top runners. :-P both definitely need modding though. :-) keep searching fansites for more pictures please! Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 The Claw Crusher is a little beauty. :-D Great pictures. Maybe you could share the exo-code, in a pm perhaps? Don't worry TLC, I'll be getting at least 3 of them anyway. ;-) Quote
KMOI Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Heh, actually, that photo album isn't mine. :-$ My sets are still being processed as we speak! Godspeed, my Shop@Home order, godspeed. :-D Quote
dillthepill Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 Does the Blade Titan's shield expand when spinning, like Keetongu's shield did in 2005?I can't wait for the pics. *sweet* Yes, they do. The blades can expand or shrink. It is a nice feature. Quote
dillthepill Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 All right, I now know how to post pics! I already did the entry for the mech contest, and I will get the pics for the 2007 stuff on soon. Quote
dillthepill Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Okie. My camera is charged and I am gonna take the pics now. Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Wrong thread, sorry, my comment makes no sense here :-P Can't wait for the pics! Quote
dillthepill Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Could you take pictures of them? (if you haven't already) I'd love to see them up close and in real life. ;-) It is done! The pictures are now on the computer. Hope ya like 'em! ;-) Quote
KMOI Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Thanks for the photos, Dill! You wouldn't believe how long I've been checking up on this topic for photos! :-D Hmm, very interesting indeed. The spinning weapons look really nice, though I do prefer Ryo's mech over the Blade Titan's spinning gear look. The Sky Guardian actually looks better now, so I'm quite relived it turned out the way it did! As for the instruction booklet, wow! The Golden City of the humans against that behemoth of the Robots. Sure resembles this guy's MOC's, oddly enough! While I'm really liking the much larger bridge, it kinda worries me that it's going to be just another battle for the bridge, like in 2006. I sure hope the robots do some blitz missions this year! Quote
